  • Edited Reaction to THE SIXTH SENSE (1999). This movie was sooo good. I was expecting a typical scary movie but this one was thought-provoking, smart, compassionate, and a scary. The cast portrayed their characters and the relationships beautifully. I didn't expect to shed tears in this one, but it hit me straight in the feels, especially towards the end!
What were your thoughts when you originally watched this movie?
BTW - I threw my back out before filming this, so if you see me wince, it's due to pain.
I hope you enjoy this one!

You got it early! Most of us didn't catch the twist until the same time Malcolm did!

The most terrifying thing in this movie to me, is the music playing at Derrick's birthday party.

That Mother had Munchausens by Proxy. Like Gypsy Rose's mother. Someone who intentionally makes their loved ones ill so they can take care of them forever and will never leave. Scary. 😬

The people who have the power to listen and help people are also therapists like Bruce Willis (Malcolm) so of course that would be the skill he helps Osmett's character learn. Malcolm was used to listening to kids other people thought were scary. I know you're talking about spirit mediums but this is the other obvious connection

Has anyone noticed that the moment Malcom hears the next shot his first words “Did Vincent-?” Before he said anything else.

Also, being at the hospital must have been hell for Cole.

Yeah that little girl's mother had killed her and if you listen to the people talking they said her little sister was getting sick now. The girl wanted to save her sister from her fate.
You caught on to Malcolm being dead before most people do. Most don't realize until the scene with the ring rolling on the floor.
Yeah Wahlburg deliberately lost a whole bunch of weight for the role of Vincent.

I saw this film in 1999 and figured out that Malcolm was dead when I noticed all the red symbols and when Cole was running into the church. He was visibly startled when Malcolm saw him on the street. Cole knew that Malcolm was a ghost. I watched these reactions for the past few months, and you were one of two people who figured out the truth about Malcolm. Great observations.
The frightening scene for me was the voice of the stable servant locked in the attic closet. I used to live close to the neighborhood where these old houses are. Most are historic landmarks and many of the fixtures remain in place by law. Some of the foundations of these houses have settled and have a pronounced lean to the structure.

Bit of trivia for ya…the troubled young man in the bathroom was played to near perfection by Donnie Wahlberg, former “New Kid On The Block” and brother to Mark Wahlberg. A young Haley Joel Osment was also in “Forrest Gump” (1994).

Btw, Donnie Wahlberg was the father of a guy who went to Kindergarten with me. I remember the kid being very skilled at drawing, and him and I were both hugely into The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time video game. Los Angeles is my hometown, though I've been in Minnesota since 2005

My pleasure! What I admire most about The 6th Sense is that the ghosts are terrifying, though the movie ultimately shows then to be well-intentioned, with prime example being Willis's characters
Btw, if you're interested, pretty much the most terrifying film I've ever seen is a horror movie called "The Pact", a film from the year 2012. The movie's about a woman who starts to sense an evil presence while she' staying at the home she was raised in. I'd strongly recommend doing a reaction video to it, if you like that genre. It's R-rated and definitely extremely terrifying, though surprisingly, doesn't have a huge about of bloody scenes and relies primarily on ominous sound effects and slow movement of the camera

I kind of wish Shyamalan stopped making movies after this one. I mean don't get me wrong he's hit or miss and he has made a couple of good ones since this one, but if he died or changed careers right after making this movie he would be considered one of the greatest storytellers of all time. Instead he's just remembered for making that shit Avatar movie and coming up with Scooby-Doo twist endings. This was a masterpiece though. This is what he's capable of at his best and it's truly brilliant.

what i think is weird/plothole is that the kid can see the dead, but Bruce IS dead and he cant see other dead ppl like him. soooo if your a ghost, u feel like the only ghost on earth.

    • @AlexxaReacts
      @AlexxaReacts  Před měsícem

That's why I think the ghosts are so frightening. If they think they are the only ones, they would be incredibly desperate to speak to the kid - scaring him even more!

    1. Haley Joel Osment played Forrestt Gump Jr, in "AI" and absolutely kills in this.😎
    2. I first knew when he met his wife when she was morning him alone at the anniversary meal. Only one place setting.
    3. Good catch.🧐
    4. I watched my now ex to see when she got it but she never picked it up until the reveal.
    5. They help each other.
    6. Cole knew he wouldn't see Malcolm again.
    7. Cole to Malcolm, "How can you help me, if you don't believe me?" "Some magic's real".
    8. A fun movie for review of a Bruce Willis is, "The Last Boy Scout". HINT HINT
    9. Missing you Bruce.😥
