so all these people talking about being in tech and we don't have one Software Engineer.
Hi, if you're looking to hear from a black engineer, here's a session with Leslie Miley czcams.com/video/7DaZbS-ilV0/video.html
I'm not in the Bay Area, but we do exist. I also would have liked to see that.
This was a San Francisco based event, but we have done other events across the country and around the world.
@@empovia thats the point, you're in SF talking about tech and not one engineer, to be fair your not really in tech if your not an engineer. Just my point of view.
@@umjames I know I work in London. So thats why I watched, but when none were engineers I didn't see the point of the video.
As a Black Man in Tech from the Projects in Brooklyn, I can't relate to these Black Men. I come from a different walk of life.
Yeah they touched on that a little bit. Tech expects Black men to show up the same way. It’s based on unconscious bias and ignorance.
These men up here do not represent me at all. My experience is way different. These are people who were chosen to be groomed in certain aspects. IT Tech solves problems where I am at we didn’t have time to be groomed we just dug in and were expected to build and my experience was about being passed over time and time again.
I needed to see this currently getting into code and this inspired me. Thank you ✅
How are things coming along for you with that?
How is it going so far?
Note their short hair anf lack of anything else relevant to black culture. This is fundemental when aspiring to achieve success in corporate USA/UK
@@LBrownoffical lol so someone's hair makes them less black? What?
@@LBrownoffical what do you mean?
they need to build black silicon valley do for self
check out Iddris Sandu, he already is - in Ghana
why? Im black and see this as pretty racist. Imagine a white person saying that they're gong to build a place with whites only.. Imagine the backlash. yet it's ok for us to exclude other races lol.
@@thelonercoder5816 no he means leadership where there are no hand outs because black men would be the leaders.
This was such a good panel. Felt like i was listening to a podcast with the formality of an insightful panel.
I loved this panel and commentary. Very inspiring 👏 🙌🏾❤
I watched the whole thing, well needed.
This is Interesting - We are the Diversity in Tech Podcast and Conference and are big champions of diversity in Tech.
This is cool, I'm glad to see such great representation! What advice would you give to a HS senior who is planning to major in CS?
This is so inspiring; thank you for sharing.
This was really good, guys! Well done. 😊
Awesome panel, loved the energy
Anyone on the panel a software engineer?? Like that's the only reason I'm here...
Hi, we have a few talks from black engineers - here is one: czcams.com/video/7DaZbS-ilV0/video.html
@@empovia A good young guy to check out is Wayne Jackson Jr. It'd be cool if he could be on a future panel
19:42 "Inclusive". You nailed it my brother
Reduce the humor of the discussion, and focus on the problem of Blacks not being vast participants in the Information Technology arena. It can only be the fault of those of us currently in IT. I've been in IT for over 25+ years, first as an employee and then as a Company owner. If we in IT don't require OEMs to reach out more to Black users, educators and Owners in and of the technology business. We'll never have more than 30K + of us, within the Industry.
That's awesome brother keep it up
😂 should they have been robots?
I was thinking about going into tech and the first speaker is from Charleston SC as well maybe its a sign
Im a small developer self learned for mobile/ cpu looking for some type of oppurtunity.. Am I alone?
I love nerds. They are my favorite. Especially chocolate ones.
Thank you
When dude said he wanted to be like Eddie Murphy in Boomerang I was like yeah that's mah dawg right there. Then the other cat whispered in that liberal hipster tone "misogyny" *big eye roll* I was like ugh shhhhhh when like smooth brothas no simping in tech please. Anyway, great panel I work in tech as a cloud engineer and love what I do.
I’m here looking for my jabrils and Idriss my two big inspiration. I like authenticity.
Love this !
These are the men that should be the face of the community but hey we are stuck with real niggas.
bruh in glasses so spicy lmfaoooo
Why couldn’t women join the conversation as well? Or is there another video on this topic with black women discussing it?
Plenty of videos of Black women in tech on Ted Talk
@Sudhir Kakar You know why. Stop trolling.
@Sudhir Kakar You answered your own question 💆🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. That's why the OP asked if anyone knows of any other videos on CZcams about the subject at hand.
Why do y’all black women want war with black men so bad ? We are not your enemy
@@mikee3261 What war are you referring to?
Washington leadership academy noted
Good job 😸👍
Why is the bald guy in glasses so rude and condescending. Was it because he was called the Beyoncé of the group? I thought this was a respectful conversation between black men tech? not a platform to tear each other down.
I think they were joking with eachother….
Introduce myself my name is Ariful Islam leeton im software engineer and members of the international organization and development Google
i like to see.. they sang Boyz II Men after that :D
The one with the bald head has a odd energy . Not friendly and challenging .
they are in call centers ? thats tech?
?
Which one of them said they worked in a call center? I didn't catch that.
Get the hate out your heart
first dude was wackk & corny!
Thats the problem with the black community. Everything is "corny". Just listen and learn.
@@AO-pn2uo Everything that's progressive is seen as corny smdh.
As a black Computer Science student this is the one thing that fuels my imposter syndrome. I never faced any racism from my classmates or internship recruiters. But my from my own kind I have
@@socalbeachieboy6135 So sorry about that
