    Good clear video well worth watching thanks. The lifting of the transfers after washing is because of inconsistent pressure whilst pressing. Unfortunately the only real way of avoiding this is to press it using a proper heat press. You will have 100% success in this area. The mini presses have their place but also some limitations when it comes to consistent heat pressing. Good show !!

    Hi new to the Cricut Community and was curious how did you wash you shirts that you cracked in the beginning of the video? Just because I'm debating whether I want to wash my shirt or not. I was thinking of using a bucket of cold water and mild detergent and then follow by a hang dry.

  • @kevinfishburne
    @kevinfishburne Před 3 lety +5

    I'm trying to figure this shit out myself. My biggest takeaway here is that the light transfer paper treats image value/brightness as alpha/transparency. So white would show just the garment (pink), and black would totally obscure the garment (black). Dark transfer paper is like an opaque sticker, completely obliterating the garment where it wasn't cut out. Thanks for the video!

      @@lucykiins yes. It totally cracked and came up in the wash. The dark I haven’t washed yet. But I’m using a Cricut press also. So I wonder if the tshirt press would put them on. Also sublimation 🤣 The vinyl washed great, the pictures are the only thing I’m having a hard time with.

      hmm i think the easy press might be the issue then 🤔 do you have a special printer for the sublimation ? is it hard to work with ?

      @@lucykiins ok! Hey the dark transfer worked in the washer! I did push really hard with the Cricut, I also went over it maybe 3 or 4 times. No peeling and no cracks. I washed it on normal wash and put it in with my sheets so it wasn’t by itself. Perfect!

    @11:30 Your second press was not necessary and thats why you ended up pulling bits of the transfer off.

    Avery is the best transfer paper you ain’t doing it right being able to peel the design off the tshirt means you ain’t even pressing with the right amount of heat to the design to come out how its expected

    • @lucykiins
      @lucykiins  Před 2 lety

      i'll need to retry it again with a heat press to see if i get different results.

    You're suppose to stretch the shirt then heat it again then you're done.

      i've seen people stretch it slightly after you transfer it so that's how i did it.

    So pretty much, you can't sell shirts using these garbage transfers. Noted. Sucks, I wasted $$ on buying a 50 pack of these.

      do you have an actual heat press? i think that'll give different results.

      @@lucykiins I do; I've actually pressed several already and they are still coming up/peel apart. I'm starting to wonder if maybe it's only worth buying the dark versions...seems like there's multiple people having issues with it. I also notice like a yellow residue leftover on my sheet, almost like all the chemical substance meant to hold the image on the garment isn't coming off the paper.
