This was such a Great video!! Thank you for such Great Detail and Explanation. You do a wonderful job at explaining and showing things very nicely. I look forward to following your posts.
thank you so much ☺️🤗
You have no idea how much ur video just helped me !!!! Thank you so much .
yay that makes me so happy 😁
Great video! You do a wonderful job of comparing the types of papers and outcomes. I did have some bleed through of color on the back of one of my shirts, but it did wash out and it turned out perfectly, so maybe yours will too! Again-good job!😍
thank you so much ! i haven't really paid close attention to the shirts, but i'll definitely have to double check to see if the bleeding is gone since i've worn them a few times already 😁
Good clear video well worth watching thanks. The lifting of the transfers after washing is because of inconsistent pressure whilst pressing. Unfortunately the only real way of avoiding this is to press it using a proper heat press. You will have 100% success in this area. The mini presses have their place but also some limitations when it comes to consistent heat pressing. Good show !!
thank you ! i can't wait to get my hands on an actual heat press and see the major difference 😁
The problem isn't the transfers, it's the pressure. The easy press isn't giving enough pressure, get a real heat press and your problems will disappear
yes, i realized that but an actual heat press is too big for what i need so i guess no transfers for me lol.
@@lucykiins it's ok, just trying to be helpful!!! Great information though!
thank you 🤗
I understand that advise about the heat press, some of us only have is the small one so I am happy she made the trail and error so we don’t have to.
You are amazing as usual , and ppd dark colours does it work well with heat press machines instead of iron ? Why does it peel off, does it have any specific ? 🤔🤔
it peels off when there's not enough pressure so a heat press is definitely recommended for transfer papers 🙂
Easy press does not get hot enough and you can't apply the pressure that is needed. A clam shell or swing away heat press will give you the results you are looking for.
i've realized that 😩 i wish i had one.
sooooo helpful thank you!!
so happy i could help 😁
thanks, this was very helpful
you're welcome 😁
Good video, I was thinking that using a heat press might give better results. That way they get equal pressure.
yup ! a heat press will definitely give better results but i don't own one 😔
@@lucykiins same, hopefully can get one soon. Thanks again for the review.
@@Chuyperez59 heat press is def better, I did my shirts and just passed the wash test nothing came off.
Hi new to the Cricut Community and was curious how did you wash you shirts that you cracked in the beginning of the video? Just because I'm debating whether I want to wash my shirt or not. I was thinking of using a bucket of cold water and mild detergent and then follow by a hang dry.
i washed them using the delicate setting. these transfers aren't meant to be stretched and i wore them to sleep so that caused them to stretch i guess and that's how they cracked.
For the light transfer paper, when you cut it , you were to leave atleast an 1/2 inch around your design and also your heat setting does help it from not lifting around the edge
i've learned my lesson with the light transfers lol. i recently filmed a video trying a bunch out again and i left space around the edge and finally used a heat press 😌
What if you heat press on the back ?
i tried that once and i felt like it wrinkled the transfer slightly, but i may have to try that again !
What’s the best transfer paper for transparency/no cut? My design has toooo many intricate details
what do you mean by transparency?
I think they use "weedless" transfer paper with color laser printers for that. Or dye sublimation which uses a printer with sublimation ink, a transparent transfer sheet, and an adhesive sheet.
@@lucykiins I’ve seen a ton of videos where there’s a white background and you have to cut out your design so that it doesn’t transfer to your shirt or product . The only paper I recently tried was the Avery and I didn’t have to worry about a white background
Do i have to erase the background and make image a png?
if you want Cricut to cut it, yes. if you're gonna cut it yourself and don't have access to a program that allows you to remove the background just print it normally and remove the background when you cut it out 😌
so it bled thru? what about from the front since it was inside out?
there was a bit in the front as well.
Did you use regular ink or pigma ink?
regular inkjet ink 🙂
I'm trying to figure this shit out myself. My biggest takeaway here is that the light transfer paper treats image value/brightness as alpha/transparency. So white would show just the garment (pink), and black would totally obscure the garment (black). Dark transfer paper is like an opaque sticker, completely obliterating the garment where it wasn't cut out. Thanks for the video!
yes, exactly!!!
So dark transfer paper on a light shirt would work but not vice versa
For a yellow shirt should I use light paper or dark?
go with the dark transfer. you can use them for both light and dark fabrics 😌
@@lucykiins thank you so much!
So I can use dark transfer paper on light garments?
yes 😁 just not the other way around !
@@lucykiins thanks! 🎉
Does it take lot off ink with color?
it prints like a regular photo so it's not much or less than printing on regular paper 😌
Why did you mirror the white one ???
because that one is placed face down.
Sometimes when pressing shirts people press It from the back after pressing the image, maybe that would’ve helped avoid the wrinkling.
i'll have to try that next time 😃
Would you be able to show me on how to do the editing part on procreate on I pad with no cutting machine ? 👏🙏
i've never used procreate 😩 but for the cutting you can just cut it manually with scissors.
@@lucykiins thank you 🙏
Put higher temp and pressure it works
i think an actual heat press is what i need lol.
Im new here so can you suggest me some good printer for ppd tranfer paper? price 50-150 dollars. Thanks :)
this is the one i use and it's less than $70 amzn.to/3HOAn0b 😊
The heat press for those papers, it would be better to buy a bigger press with a spring to hold the iron part down. Just a tip. It won’t lift or peel this way.
i know, a lot of people have confirmed that. i wish i had one 😢
@@lucykiins you can get a high quality heat press for about 160+ tax it’s a good investment
i just don't have the space for it since it's so bulky 😩😩
Thank you so much
thanks for watching 😌
Why do you have to mirror the light transfer but not the dark? Thanks
since the light transfer is placed faced down, it needs to be mirrored so the image looks normal. the dark transfer is peeled and placed face up, so you don't need to mirror it since the image is already normal. i hope this makes sense lol.
@@lucykiins ahh ok gotcha i get it thank you
What if u put light transfer paper on black garment and dark transfer on light garment.??
the light transfer doesn't work on dark garments, but the dark transfers do work on light garments.
@@lucykiinsthank you..
My parcment paper and vinyl is sticking too my shirt :( do you think its too hot?
make sure to use the heat settings that come with your htv. that may be your issue.
Thank you 🙏🏾 very much.
thanks for watching 😁
That's nice.
How many washes do you think both transfers withstand before being completely unwearable?
i think they can last a while as long as you don't stretch them since that causes cracks. but i'm gonna be honest, i peeled off the transfers on both of these tees 😫😅
@@lucykiins 😀😀 Noted. Thanks for taking the time to prepare such detailed experiment btw, keep going!
please make a video comparison between jet pro vs avery vs ppd
i already did Avery vs PPD. here is that video 😌 czcams.com/video/q3pCkZvKBKc/video.html
@@lucykiins i've watched that one already, I mean, I would love to check JET PRO paper quality. as per my knowledge, they have the best quality transfer papers.
do they really ? hmm i may need to look into those then ! thanks for letting me know 😉
HELP PLEASE!!!!! MY CRICUT MAKES A MESS WHEN IS CUTTING, ITS RIPPING ALL THE PAPER, I USED THE SAME PAPER AS IN THE VIDEO AND ALSO THE SETTING FOR CUTTING. IS THERE SOMETHING IM MISSING?
this was the only time i’ve tried cutting transfer paper with my Cricut so i’m not an expert ☹️ i would say use one sheet and cut a small image using different cut settings and see which one works the best.
@@lucykiins thank you. Your video is awesome👍👍👍
thank you 😄❤️
Did you find a good printable Htv yet?
i think in order for any of them to work really well i need an actual heat press.
@@lucykiins I use a heat press and the ppd printable paper doesn’t work that well. Look great before washing but after not so much.
really? that sucks. what other brands have you tried?
@@lucykiins only brand so far is was rated top 3 on a google search. I’m thinking of trying Starcraft next or just spend the extra money and buy and eco printer and convert to sublimation ink. I seen a lot of good results with sublimation vs htv injets. I just wanted to know if you tried something else that washes better. I want to sell a product that at least washes 30 times before it starts cracking vs first wash.
look into screen prints as well ! i wanted to try some, but you need an actual heat press for them. i've heard people get them from Transfer Express.
It doesn’t seem like it would instantly peel if you used an actual heat press
i have a heat press now so i'm going to test them out again soon !
You know why it would get blurry or break after wash and dry?
did you wait 24 hours before washing it? also, if it breaks that means it was probably stretched out too much or it wasn't pressed enough.
@@lucykiins hmm no I didn’t 😖 i also read about cotton and sublimation will peal
sublimation only adheres to polyester so it'll never work on cotton 😩
NEW TRANSFER PAPER COMPARISON: STARCRAFT LIGHT VS. DARK !
watch the review here 😌 : czcams.com/video/KWxHygUIH4k/video.html
What would happen if I put dark transfer paper on a white t shirt?
@@AP__Anthony__ nothing ! it’ll work just as fine 😁 the dark transfers are usually better anyway.
@@lucykiins okay thank you!
Hi, could you tell me whether your printer ink is dye based or pigment based.
When you put it on a iron board and do it. Slip the shirt onto it so it's only hitting one side and not touching the back when being pressed. No bleeding to the back : P
omg i didn't even realize that could've been a reason why it bled through 😩
will it bleed on the iron board ? 🤔
@@lucykiins nice video thank you. May I know what kind of ink did you use to print it pigment or dye based ink please?
@@mindteaserhub it's just regular inkjet ink 🙂
Yup. What MA said.
@@lucykiins If you're concerned about it bleeding onto the ironing board, just put a cloth kitchen towel or something similar down before you put your shirt over the ironing board.
The dark works best for anything with color material if you were to Put the dark transfer paper on a red shirt for example I will be completely clear
I use dark transfer paper for all color shirts and none are clear
@@camposc0999 i thnk she meant to write the white transfer, shes used on all colors.. i used the white transfer on. a red shirt and that what exactly happned to me lol
Best video ❣️❤️🔥
thank you sooo much ❤️☺️
The ppd light doesn’t work well at all with cricut explorer 2!!! Be warned I have used so many different settings but it keeps cutting and lifting off the paper!
this was the only time i tried it lol.
Add a card stock paper in the the T-shirt before you press and it won’t bleed through
noted for next time ! thanks 😉
I just had to let you know your voice is like a mix between Rosie Perez from WMCJ & Cardi B.. yo and its straight up sexy no cap. Oh yeah and the Iron on transfer video was good too!
LMAO ! you're not the first to say i sound like Rosie Perez 😅 thank you 🤣🤣
🤣🤣 I’m literally going through the exact same process right now!
did you have any issues with the light transfer ?
@@lucykiins yes. It totally cracked and came up in the wash. The dark I haven’t washed yet. But I’m using a Cricut press also. So I wonder if the tshirt press would put them on. Also sublimation 🤣 The vinyl washed great, the pictures are the only thing I’m having a hard time with.
hmm i think the easy press might be the issue then 🤔 do you have a special printer for the sublimation ? is it hard to work with ?
@@lucykiins ok! Hey the dark transfer worked in the washer! I did push really hard with the Cricut, I also went over it maybe 3 or 4 times. No peeling and no cracks. I washed it on normal wash and put it in with my sheets so it wasn’t by itself. Perfect!
yay, that's good 😁
just realised someone made the same comment 6 months ago. So my comment is good only for confirmation❤
@11:30 Your second press was not necessary and thats why you ended up pulling bits of the transfer off.
i went in a second time since the instructions said to do so. lesson learned 😅
@@lucykiins yea thats odd for the directions lol. Good job still on your part :)
thanks 🙂
I did this too BECAUSE the instructions said to "fix it" but it fucked My shirt up and starting peeling
@@savonne oof. Yea they need better instructions
Avery is the best transfer paper you ain’t doing it right being able to peel the design off the tshirt means you ain’t even pressing with the right amount of heat to the design to come out how its expected
i'll need to retry it again with a heat press to see if i get different results.
You're suppose to stretch the shirt then heat it again then you're done.
i've seen people stretch it slightly after you transfer it so that's how i did it.
So pretty much, you can't sell shirts using these garbage transfers. Noted. Sucks, I wasted $$ on buying a 50 pack of these.
do you have an actual heat press? i think that'll give different results.
@@lucykiins I do; I've actually pressed several already and they are still coming up/peel apart. I'm starting to wonder if maybe it's only worth buying the dark versions...seems like there's multiple people having issues with it. I also notice like a yellow residue leftover on my sheet, almost like all the chemical substance meant to hold the image on the garment isn't coming off the paper.
nice to know it wasn't just me with the issue lol. i just recently tried out the Starcraft transfers and the dark one is for sure my new fave out of all the brands I've tried !
Wank. Remind us all not to use that crappy paper
ok this transfer paper is straight trash , I wouldn't buy this thing again no way smh
how did you use yours ? with a heat press ?
@@lucykiins yes...
