As a professional pilot, I can tell the devs of this game are pretty familiar with aviation ops. Just the language used by the pilots after being given instructions is pretty spot on. Would be cool to see as it gets busier that you could assign aircrafts departures or arrivals.
There may a additional upgrade at the stage: provide SID & STAR
As a controller for the past 10 years. This is the most accurate I have seen any ATC game. The accuracy of the use of the nav waypoint is mind blowing! Well done devs!

I agree, however I'm missing the 3rd dimension... If you could also stack the traffic vertically that would introduce another difficulty
Cityskylines 2 clearly is, to say the least, a disappointment. But the silver lining is there is some more variety in your content which I’m really enjoying. I’m especially enjoying Timberborn.

What's disappointing is people's expectations and reactions to something, like as if it says how it's always going to be -.-
This reminds me of flight control in the early days of iOS. Flight Control, Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds were the OGs of the iOS gaming world
Only watched the first 3 minutes of the video so far, but it really does remind me of Flight Control HD (on Steam).
Would be cool if we could get this on mobile like the other games in the "mini" genre. Would love to play it on the go 😃

An important thing with games like this is to get in the habit of frequently glancing all around the map, to make sure you're not missing anything critical while focusing on something else. Similar to developing the habit of checking your mirrors while driving. Just a quick "is there anything that will kill me in the next 15 seconds?" The most common way to die in air traffic games is to get caught focusing on one area, while a slowly-developing disaster is building up somewhere else.
This looks terrific, though. I think I'm going to pick it up.

The London City Airport ATC operations in game are very similar to actual real life operations at Mumbai airport, handling about 1000 aircraft movements per day! Hats off to those guys, its a very tedious and stressful job.

Rule of thumb or air traffic control, incoming landing planes have priority over those taking off. The game seems to invert that logic by making you prioritize take offs over landings though...

As a truck driver I had a delivery at the San Francisco Airport. I was escorted to a waiting area while they got a crew to unload me. For about an hour, I had a perfect view of planes taking off and landing. The runways were identical to the setup here. They took off from right to left and landed from top to bottom. I could see at least six planes, one behind the other, coming in to land. Within about a minute, one would take off and one would land. It was amazing to watch.
I got addicted to this one. Got a much better score when I found you can pause. Lol

I'd suggest not placing loops where they interfere with landings/takeoffs. Then you won't lose like the last time where the plane you ordered to land took way through the waiting loop

I remember going to the training ATC tower with a buddy of mine when I was in MOS school in the Marines at NAS Pensacola back in 1999. I worked on the aircraft and he was a training to be ATC. Unfortunately, he has a massive brain injury about 6 months into training while riding in the back of a pickup truck that flipped going 50 MPH and his head hit a tree. Every time I see something about ATC, that memory pops up.
Don't want to be a downer. So, I'll end with this. The devs for this must have done their homework or have experience, because it has a lot of the real-world stuff in it! Awesome!
They start flashing when they get in close proximity, even if they're not going to hit. IRL, the separation is typically a minimum of between 3 and 6 miles, depending on the airspace and the planes involved. 6 miles sounds like a lot until you realize that for some planes in head on traffic that's about 30 seconds flying time, where you almost can't see the target at all because of the closing speed.
Also I just noticed that this game is also more difficult than RL because you don't have altitudes to work with. Normally 1000 feet of separation is used for crossing traffic. Also, that 1000 ft is standard worldwide everywhere (including metric countries) except for China, although I assume China uses an equivalent amount in meters.
I'm a fan of seeing you playing all these new games lately. It's introducing me to a lot that I didn't know I want to play. I hope you're feeling better Biffa!

I, uh, can't how see this doesn't get struck down for violating the trade dress of Mini-Motorways / Mini-Metro. They've just copied the design language completely - down to the menus - and that's a big no-no.
I guess if they haven't copyrighted the look, then no. From my understanding, gameplay mechanics can't really be protected. Especially as this is a plane landing game which is not the same at all. Just my thoughts as a non expert but some info off the Internet.

Dinosaur Polo Club ABSOLUTEY need to hit these people with a lawsuit. The aesthetic did confuse me and made me think it was their game.
Now, I totally WANT this game, but equally, knowing it is ripping off DPC stuff (even after that awkward little thing with All Quiet Roads), I really, really, really don't.

However, the look, feel and indeed name of a product definitely can be, and that's what's known as "trade dress". Given how similar the look and name are, it certainly seems like they're trying to piggyback off of Mini-Motorways/Mini-Metro, which would be an issue for trade dress.
They could, of course some of the visuals a bit and likely the name of the game, and then they'd absolutely be in the clear. But as it is, I can't imagine Dino Polo Club will be looking at this too fondly, given the drama around All Quiet Roads a while back (which was also trade dress related).
You need to play Air Traffic: Greenlight.

It is a simplified version of atc but it does look good. I wonder how Biffa would do on VATSIM as an atc. It's something I've done on and off for years.
London City has a very steep glide slope. It feels like a controlled crash landing. Add London Heathrow to the west of the airport and it's a complicated section of airspace.
Maybe if the plane is vectored to it's destination the plane should become the same colour as the ring

That game reminds me of Kennedy Approach ATC from 1985, but in that game you also had to look out for altitude
i would not say "you had" but "you could" look out for altitudes ...
that allowed you to direct leaving planes to one altitude and then "forget" about them, while incoming planes were on a different altitude.
similar for landing and taking off: prepare landing at altitude 1, and take off immediately to 2, to keep them out of each others path.
then you could easily go from 2 to 6 and from 5 to 1 whenever there was space available in between

You should give tips to some of the controllerd I've had to deal with around the world 😅
there are some similar games for phones, and while this one on pc allows you to "point" with the mouse where planes should go, the ones on phone usually allow you to draw the trajectory line in the map, you can make planes do 8 figure and zig-zag and whatnot by drawing a single line in the screen.
would be neat though if we could also draw the trajectory line on this game with your mouse.
