- The Booster course pass for mario kart 8 deluxe is one of the best pieces of DLC for any game on the switch. Recently wave 4 released and with two more waves to go I'm wondering if we may get more dlc for mario kart 8 deluxe once the booster course pass is done. So today I look through tracks, characters, costumes, leaks, and battle mode to see what is most likely to get updated in the future for mario kart 8 deluxe!

I think the biggest thing knocking out the possibility of a second BCP is that if there was one, they could have spaced out the city courses more appropriately.
Maybe booster pass 2 doesn’t have city tracks

If there was a booster course pass 2, they could have the RMX courses start off every cup instead of the city tracks. Or they could just have no city tracks.
I know this may seem small but I would love if they added being able to destroy bloopers with a super horn like in Tour. Getting shocked and keeping your glider was a mechanic for Tour so it's not a 0% chance.

Obviously you recorded this before it was announced, but Yoshi’s Island is officially coming to Tour next week, and they’re adding POOCHIE as a playable racer. So I guess he’s also up for debate on possible character additions to 8DX, especially if they do more DLC 👍🏻

If Poochy was gonna be in 8DX, he would have been added in wave 4. It makes no sense to add him now AFTER we got Yoshi's Island
@@justdex721 you know what doesn’t make sense? Getting characters for the first time in wave 4 and not in the first three waves.
I don’t think Nintendo ever goes the logical route, Pauline would’ve been perfect to add when New York came out, but now she’ll probably be added where there are no tracks that associate with her.
Plus if they add another Yoshi track in the future, just put Poochie with that one (like GBA Yoshi Desert, which is also getting added with Poochie in Tour)
@@dillongeorge5866 I mean Pauline could be added in with mobDK, and also Poochie is less associated with Mario himself and more Yoshi, so they probably wouldn’t add him unless some kind of Yoshi Content is coming(which btw is not happening, Yoshi Desert aint coming to 8DX)…

If they bring back retro battle courses I hope we get Funky Stadium,that was my absolute favorite in Mario Kart Wii and it would go so well alongside Funky Kong if he gets added (which I’m PRAYING for).

I know this sounds stupid, and it’s my own theory, so it’s not worth much… but i’ve noticed that in grand prix mode when choosing the grand prix the 48 original tracks are circled in gold, the new dlc tracks are circled in silver so I thought maybe it would make sense they did a second dlc with 48 more tracks circled in bronze this time it would make gold, silver & bronze like the 3 first place in the race… idk just a random thought

As a Pichu main in Smash and a Dry Bones main in MK8DX, that is an unreasonable nerf.
I truly hope there will be at this stage but I’m really not sure if there will be more. A lot of people will be happy, but a lot of people would also be annoyed and just want a new MK Game.

If they did continue, I would want color selections for Toad. Honestly, another addition I’m hoping we get is the Mario Kart DD Bowser’s Castle in the Blue Shell Cup, which is one of the cups in the final wave. We are current on Wave 4 and Wave 6 is the last one. We’ve still got quite the amount of time to wait for additional DLC after the booster course pack. Fingers crossed we get Funky Kong in the final wave too. Would make sense to release that track and character in wave 6 for nostalgic purposes. In wave 4, we got Birdo and there are 5 mystery characters remaining. I’ll assume for now that in the next wave we get two characters and in wave 6 we get the final three.

First of all, I agree with the Battle Mode stages. While that is definitely my favourite mode to play in this game, I feel like playing the same 8 tracks over again gets stale after a while and I hope they add in a few more in the last two waves.

For the moment tour only had 3 battle courses
Ds Twilight house, gcn cookie land and gba battle course 1 and they missed so much potencial with so many past tour since battle mode debut like in the 2022 holiday tour they could added snes battle course 2 but no

I just want a Battle Mode expansion with more battle courses. Hell, you can even put some new characters you talked about in your video in this DLC.
It probably won't but I wouldn't mind it. Although I don't really care for battle mode (because lack of friends that play this game and also I suck at the game, especially battle mode). But what else is there to add, new characters and battle tracks and maybe items? Considering new characters have already come to the BCP I don't expect one for just characters. I also expect one or two new items in the BCP (there are empty slots in the item select menu) so I don't really think we're getting anything on the switch for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe after this. But who knows?

Update: your 5 character predictions came true! Kamek and Petey Piranha we're added in Wave 5, while Diddy Kong, Funky Kong and Pauline will be added in Wave 6!
I would love if they added more items to the game
The thing I want most in this game is a revamp of lsrt customization. Like maybe a separate menu where you can create up to maybe 20 kart combinations so playing with new players locally is quicker and easier.
And then they could compress the existing kart parts, because there's no reason for Rollers and Azure Rollers or Slim and Crimson Slim tires to be not right next to eachother, when they're identical stat wise and are just pallete swaps.
And why just those colors? Why not add a few versions of Slim (Crimson Slim being one of them), and do that kind of thing for all or most kart parts in the game? That way you can add more customization without adding full new parts.
Because the kart customization is awful. Almost every combination of parts is super ugly

0:20 it’s triple from when it came out on WiiU, that made me realize that they’ve been doin go this game for damn near a decade
i think the best reason for a second bcp is preserving tours remix courses, because we havent seen a single one of them in this bcp it might've been nintendo's plan to have a first pass focus on tours city and other new tracks, and then have a second pass focusing on the remix tracks. there's 9 in tour rn but i can definitely see them doing at least 3 more to give one to the other snes track themes and give a second to the more deserving themes, meaning at least 12 remix courses to start 12 cups. although they'd need incredible precision ordering them to ensure that they dont feel repetitive theme wise especially since they'd probably add one of each themes original snes/gba courses to make having their remixes in the same game less jarring, i can still see them going for it mostly for preservation. even if they dont do more courses i could see them doing a completely seperate kind of paid dlc (which would make it less weird to not be a part of the expansion pack) as well, with 8 battle maps to double it like the course count, 8 characters to fill a new row, and 80 costumes and 80 kart parts to be thematic, call it something like the booster crazy 8 pass and im sure people would eat that up quicker than even the course pass.
i could go on for hours on what i want, i was always in camp "just update 8 deluxe instead of making 9 on switch" so im just happy that i was right, but the more the merrier at this point, especially with kart parts cos to me the selection feels really stale, even looking at 7's more limited selection it felt like there were so many more wacky kart designs compared to 8 having way more standard themed karts, and tour has bought a lot of favourites back and even shown that they can be customised in the same way as 8 as recolours of karts like the poltergust 4000 and dk jumbo have different wheel types ao i dont think it's out of the realm of possibility for them to be added at all.

Guys the April Fools is that he said the Yoshi’s island track isn’t from tour.
I really want battle mode to be updated, it’s a lot of fun especially with your friends. But online play is pretty much completely dead, you’d be lucky enough to get maybe a lobby of 3 players and the rest of the lobby filled with AI. Such a shame though, the level design is really nice, especially Luigi’s mansion and the Mario arena as well as the candy land inspired one and the splatoon map based on urchin underpass. It would be cool for them to add at least 8 more maps, just feels kinda late for them to do it, but who knows!
The battle mode is dead coz it doesn’t have the elimination game in it that’s the whole reason I stopped playing battle coz the points system game is so boring
To be fair I think after Wave 6, just like how Ultimate did adding 1 more fighter for wave 2 sets of fighters, I think Wave 7 could potentially be possible but I don’t really know how it will work, but they definitely should do a *Booster Battle Pass!*
In addition to adding new battle arenas, they should also bring back the classic battle royale mode from previous mario kart games before Mario kart wii.
One thing mk8 on the wii u got right was that elimination mode, though not being able to turn off the timer in offline battle does stink.
I personally do not care much for the battle mode but I am a very big fan of the idea of more car parts.
Even if they simply share the same stats as other parts it brings in some variety with 'ideal builds' ya know and it's a great opportunity to bring back fan favourite kart designs.
If they sold those with extra characters, extra battle mode tracks and stuff like that that'd make this game the best Mario Kart for me.

I’m fine with Ds Mario Circuit being the last Ds track because it hit my nostalgia like a truck but if it was Figure 8 Circuit I would be dead

8:49 yeah is weird for some reason the mkt devs only added others alts for toad like the pit crew ones, party time or Captain toad but none of the normal toad like yellow or blue toad

Wave 1: DS Block Fort and Wii Funky Stadium + new 6 kart parts (2 bodies, 2 wheels, and 2 gliders prolly from tour)
Wave 2: N64 Double Deck (remaster) and GCN Pipe Plaza + 6 more kart parts
Wave 3: 3DS Honeybee Hive and GBA Battle Course 4 + 6 more kart parts and Color alts for Koopa Troopa
Wave 4: SNES Battle Course 2 and Wii Delfino Pier + 6 more Kart Parts and Toad color alts.
Toad Colors: Pink, Green, Red, Blue, Yellow.
Koopa Colors: Blue, Purple, Yellow/Gold, Red, Paratroopa.
Kart Parts Added a returning parts from previous games:
Karts/Bikes/ATV: Koopa King, Goo Goo Buggy, Heart Coach, Flame Runner, Kamek's Zoom Broom, Zipper, Gold Mantis, and Wild Wing.
Wheels: Spiny Monster (Koopa King), Platinum Monsters (Rambi Runner), Mushroom (MK7), Bubble (Jet Bubble), Magical (Kamek's Zoom Broom), Mineral-Terrians (Clanky Kart), and Wagon (Quikshaw)
Gliders: Wicked Wings, Oilpaper Umbrella, Beast Glider, Starchute, Tanooki Glider, Hanafuda Glider, and Swooper Glider.
This is just a concept. Some Karts and Gliders will change color with very Specific characters in a similar way to the Warship changing with only the koopalings.

OK, I don't know if this has been pointed out yet, but there actually is evidence already that we're getting a second BCP, and it's not from leaks or anything.
The trailer for Pack 4 updated the graphic for the splash screen with all the courses listed. On said screen, the big red circle that used to say "48 Courses" now says "*Wave 1-6* 48 Courses."
Honestly the BCP has come with so much random bonus stuff (item rules, balance changes…) I wouldn’t put it past them to announce 2 battle tracks for wave 6 or new items

They can add as many characters as they want as long as it’s not a baby(DK JR. Is the only exception), a random metal character, and queen bee(Mario galaxy).

I don't see more tracks being added after these because if we look at tour, pretty much all the remaining tracks are either RMX courses using existing assets, low effort snes remakes, or half baked Mario Kart 7 ports. Not enough good content to fill out another 6 waves.
I don’t them having another dlc, maybe a bonus for booster course announce in wave 5 and 6 stating there is wave 7 for the battle mode track from tour complete with 5 new items from there too.
I was a huge critic of the "there will be a 2nd bcp" movement until I started to think about how GBA Cheep Cheep Island, GBA Yoshi Desert and Wii Dry Dry Ruins all have high effort remakes that won't go into the BCP. I dont think its for certain, or even very likely, but its certainly possible

Link, Villagers and Inklings aren't from Mario's universe but all have a circuit... The only thirt party circuit without a character is F-Zero, and it seems that the last row of characters in the roster are all guests... Maybe Captain Falcon have a chance?

This is my theory, but I might be over-analysing it. Not much has been talked about it and I wanted to bring it up. When you boot up the game and look on the bottom left of the screen, there is a star next to the version you have, an indication that you have brought (or downloaded via NSO Expansion Pack) the DLC for this game. Does this also tell us we will get new DLC? If, hypothetically, we do get new DLC, a second star will appear? Again, might be over-analysing this. 🤷♀
We need alt colors for Dry Bones. Bring back the "Dark Bones" skin from the baseball spin-offs!!
Also fun fact but when they said they would add more characters they said add back or something like that so we wont see pollen because they will only add characters that have been in mario kart before (excluding tour) so R.O.B will be seen again

@@floppa_a8382 first of all dry bones was in Wii, second of all the dlc uses content from tour, every track added is either already in tour or has been datamined for tour before making their debut in 8 deluxe (meaning sky high sundae and yoshi’s island are tour tracks). Birdo is already in tour so they just upgrade her animations and polish her model

I fully agree with the point, that including a second dlc into Online+ would be as weird as leaving it out, tho, the first booster pass will be offsale after this year, wich is 100% confirmed, so there would be either anew game, or a second dlc replacing it in the e-shop, wouldn’t there? (There just being a gap would lead to people not buying online+ anymore, wich is easier to include a dlc instead of an intire game in the online plus pass.)
Dunno if this seems logical in any ways, but I think, that inluding a second dlc for next year would be senseful.

I think the chance of there being one is a maybe, and nothing else. It would make sense and make alot of money for nintendo, including the fact that they have to Update a already existing game instead of making a new one for a wile.
Never heard anything about mario kart 9 yet, so them continueing MarioKart8 espacially seeing how much income the first dlc made seems pretty logical to me.
