  • The front crank loom for a 1uzfe are getting tired after many years of use so lets make a new one.
The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. We sell parts and simple to follow wiring instructions for the 1uzfe engines. For enquiries email info@thecartunecompany.co.nz Take Care. Kelvin

My wire rubbed threw but the rest looks usable. Can I just snot out the bad bit and splice in some good wire or will that mess it up?

You, Sir are a gem. Thank you for the information. I would like to know if you sell them or where I might be able to locate a from loom ???

what type of braid and heat shrink are you using. I'm thinking size and temperature rating.

    • @CartuneNZ

Hello Mike. This stuff is rated at 150 degree C although I frequently throw 200 degrees at it no issue. I have 3mm (not sure what that is in bananas) , 4mm , 6 , 10 , 13 , 16 , 19 , 24 I think. Also have some higher heat stuff that I use , around 600 degrees C constant with a quick burst at 1000. Personally I prefer the raychem as its a motorsport type product and is more resistant to chemicals such as fuel and oil. Cheers Kelvin

We never got the tundra here so no plug and plays on the shelf but could do custom loom if it you sent your two engine looms over to me. I have the tundra wiring info. What model 4 runner do you have? 3vz , 22re or 2uz?
