The unending despair with full armor malph is illegal because of this. You get very little decreased HP 'cause of all your armor, then the little that you lose you can heal with the item

With the old reduce damage taken from smite you could smite a yi with tabis and unchained and you would have 62% single target damage reduction I tried this out in a test lobby with a kayle and got a full build kayle do a total of 20 damage a auto with those 3 effects. than played a match as shaco tank and vs a yi and did this to him with thorn and warmags as long as i had smite to hit him with he would only harm himself with autoing me. we both go to full build and i was able to afk stand next to him damage less still lost the game. Had 2 teammates leave game early to giving up and than i hit full build would have won if they stayed.

i would get Warmog to run away and heal to full after they tried to you kill you forever. Plus there is cap after with armor is wasted i think u dont wanna go over 500 armor since its like 75% reduction and i think it capped at that. Atleast thats how it was few years ago.
i'm imagining either malphite putting on 3 shirts and its just,,,, thick. Or since he's got the black hole on the skin the armors are just orbiting it.

I think going frozen heart and thornmail together is a bit weird because frozen heart reduces the enemies' attack speed, which means that hornmail will do less damage

Yes and no. They have an arbitrary % of damage reduction thats capped. Its like 20% of the damage. Leona with no items blocks more than full armor hp amumu. And even full ap fizz does more. They did it because of the trash champ design, URGOT. Turns out 10 flat damage reduction makes urgot do 0 damage.
