Something from this video that I took away is most of these people chose amazing partners… their partners are successful in their own right and they play to each other’s strengths and they have genuine affection from the way you hear them talk about it.
They also seem to be in their 40s-50s.
So they spent decades also gaining lived experience and they also were willing to pivot in life.

I love how most of these people weren't chasing a quick buck. They were surrendering to life's path and following what made them happy. Great video!

Yah but it’s survivorship bias. Nobody who just drifted and did nothing, or who life chewed up and spit out was living there, so you only got the success stories.
A lot of people in my opinion see others who are wealthy and successful but don’t see or don’t want to acknowledge the journey of actually getting there. The work and time that goes in, facing adversity and overcoming it, etc. Jealousy and insecurity, and people wanting it all now instead of being patient or they believe it’s not possible, or that the person must’ve had wealthy parents or something. Tearing down others who are doing well in life will not help you build yourself up and reach your goals, it only holds you farther back.

but I see most of them have something common in answers, "..I wanted to be XXX" or "I wanted to do YYY"... Even after being rich, if you can't do what you wanted to, freedom is still missing.

I love the fact you add in the unsuccessful attempts to show that yeah, there are a lot of no's but by continuing on you get the surprising number of people willing to talk and that's really cool. And a great lesson in its own right.

This is really inspiring. One thing that I always take away from videos like these is that there is no secret tip that will make in a millionaire. Its hard-work, discipline, and organization.
I got rich with only the first of the three.
Well, and being in the position that the profit goes to you and you're not an employee that works for a fixed rate for the rest of your life - which is what most people (including me) do.
And not getting a job apparently. Throw sht against the wall until something sticks. And if nothing does… keep throwing… but don’t you dare get a job.
I never heard you tell them your name/introduce yourself, but you were very kind, especially in this video vs earlier ones you've done in this series. People have either been more willing and honest to share, or you've found your grove to talk to people and ask them these questions in an honest way!

Hated that story. Almost no lessons to be learned, other than following your passions and asking about opportunities. Dude just lived in a time where you could walk into a place with almost no qualifications and still get a job, and then got even luckier while working there.

I am 28 years old and I still dont know what I would love to do, The pressure to become financially stable is really killing me now, I wish I can find the job like they have found and I hope that anyone younger reading this finds their passion before reaching my age
Brother I am in exactly the same situation. I am about to turn 28 and im terrified. This pressure to hurry up, move on and be an adult is crushing and I still haven't found that thing which makes life worth it.
I stumbled over your comments. Im 31 and was until recently thinking the very same - I have to become stable, get laid, get kids, get a house and earn money for my pension. But - I whiped any imaginary timeline from my mind. What I mean is - our parents had everything earlier then we will, if we will ever. Times changed. We cant compare our generations, because prices skyrocked so much, you simply cant reach some selfmade goals because they are hidden behind a paywall. So instead of getting haunted by these thoughts, poisoning your mind, you should try to let go and rather try to enjoy your life as it is. Never let go from your dreams, but dont tell yourself "I habe to own kids with 30. I habe to own a house woth 35." This will only make you frightened and year after year will pass, only to clamp on the thought to make lots of money. There are indeed jobs, which earn more then others, especially IT. But if you hate programming, you will never exceed in that and therefore will be only average in what you do. Maybe you can achieve your goals on a different way - instead of an house you pay rent and safe every month some money when you get old, instead of having your own garden you can maybe rent a garden for a cheap price. What I want to say is we shouldnt be blaming these shitty times because damn they suck, but rather try to make the best out of it as long as we are healthy and can stand up by ourself.
38 here. No savings. Recently got laid off and I run the risk of getting kicked out of the country since I am on a work visa. So I would say everything is relative. Give yourself some time.

Diversifying your income also is not a bad thing. If you’re single threaded and that fails, you’re SOL. Multithreaded then you can afford one failing. I get it though, sometimes you have to take on high risk for high reward.

I love this series that you do. So sad that many people won't talk to you about their success especially after you have delivered your mission.
Some successful people aren't proud about how they achieved their financial success (loan sharks, pawn shops, liquor stores, even hedge funds, etc). Others might just be skeptical of people walking up to them and asking about personal information on camera.
@@DaveM-FFB True, and I experienced many are just plain sellfish and won't pay it forward and help even a little. But a few will try to help. Even less are good teachers.

Great insights, Noah. Can this be a series? I really enjoy "off the cuff Noah" like back in the day when you and Tim / Neville gave advice to entrepreneurs Eg: The yoga lady in San Fran, Wooden toothbrush guy and many more... Don't get me wrong I love all your content and truly appreciate the time and effort you are putting in these videos to inspire us all. This type of content is opposite of those videos, back then you gave advice to help the entrepreneurs succeed, with this series you are reverse engineering what made these people successful... For me its fascinating how you see things and the questions you ask on the spot.

Well yes but there is a bias here where he's interviewing those who literally got lucky while also being hard working and disciplined. The majority of entrepreneurs are hard working and disciplined but unfortunately don't get lucky and end up failing.
If you take a sample of 100 entrepreneurs, most of them will say they're hard working and disciplined, but what separates those that succeeded from those that failed is simply (and unfortunately) luck. In terms of the way the successful entrepreneurs got lucky, this usually means being at the right place at the right time and meeting the right people at the right time.
It's interesting to see how some people talked about it so comfortably :)
As someone who is trying to start my own business it was nice to hear the advice and journey of these people. Inspiring 😊
What I gather from these interviews & which I have employed in my own life is “stay the course” & “ hold fast.”
I appreciate you taking the time to make these videos Noah. Even after having people decline- you continue to knock on doors and ask until someone was willing to speak with you. Having your audience see you having the willpower to continue despite a handful of people not wanting to be in the video is an inspiring trait.

Yup! I’ve always wondered the same. It’s se like there are so many different pathways…sometimes it’s hard work, sometimes it’s pure luck…I like you idea about talking with older folks although often they were able to find success without education or the use of technology because it was such a different time. Still, I’m sure there is lots of value in hearing their stories and still many valuable lessons that can be learned from them.

This was a fantastic eye-opener. Love the "cold-call" approach to just asking, gutsy move nowadays. Goes to show that nobody really gets rich quick, the backstories contained solid pointers. Loved the last lady's 3-point quote about paying attention, being organized and having discipline. The common thread we can see in success stories.
Quick tip, I make friends with older people. Lots of people think I’m strange, but I’ve learned something a long time ago that few people realize and he made a point of in the video. Older people have so much wisdom and they share it freely. This has enabled me to become wiser than if I had friends my age. Also, tap into really good books on business that open your mind up and make you see differently. The more you learn the less you see starting a business as something you could never do, It demystifies the process. You have to put in the work and study when your peers are out partying.
I enjoyed this. It has truly inspired me to take the time to ask some of the successful people I have come across in my life thus about how they got to where they are now financially and career wise. Keep this up Noah!

I have been trying to learn to code from the past couple of days. I don't have a good laptop to practice coding and grow further. I have a shitty second hand laptop which don't work unless plugged in. It automatically turns off after an hour or so. It's a nightmare. 1000 dollars would really mean a lot to me, so that i could get a good laptop and learn stuff. I'm a 20 y/o from India, I have really learned a lot from you and your content. I am eagerly waiting for your book too.

I just happened to run into this but realized as I watched many of them are of the older generations that took advantage of the new that was coming their way "technology, networking, social media ect. " they built a solid foundation that time change couldn't damage yet only improve. I’m an art dealer in Santa Fe I work with a lot of wealthy people. The idea that they’re selfish and not giving is a big misnomer. Almost all of them are super fun to be around, very positive, and hugely accessible. I loved this video.

The irony is that the first guy said "follow your passion, do what you love." Then, Noah: "is software what you loved to do?". Him: "no, I wanted to be a musician" 😂 the irony.
In his case, what really worked for him is to use the great opportunities he got in front of him, thanks to his husband's job.
Conclusion: Enjoy your passion, but be realistic at the same time. Do not waste the opportunities you have in front of you, in order to try something that has much probabilities to don't work than to work.

Amazing video. You did the same in 2021 and after a year I can see how much difference you had in regards to the way you ask people. The previous one was a bit jarring and that could be the reason why you did not get as many people to open up as this time. A person runs into someone's door and say 'I'm a CZcamsr and I want to know what you do for a living?' doesn't give a very good impression. But this time you say 'I run a tech company and we do CZcams videos to help young people to be successful. Do you have any advice for them?' You gave yourself credibility, you let them know you are not just doing this randomly, you let them aware of the purpose of the content, and you are sincere. I think that makes a huge difference. I look forward to seeing more of these.
