@@Liryn Still the same concept. Even if you work at a job for $200k a year, that's a far cry from anything you can hope to make from passive income. So if tech is where you want to be, make sure you're developing an app, etc. where you OWN a tech company then investing that money. Not a bad idea to have other side hussles to bring in extra passive income as well.
@@Spladoinkal you can make a lot of money out of that amount. 200k a year is a lot, you can reinvest your money. Unless you own your soul to the devil. One thing takes to another thing, having a high salary that allows you to invest is good. Besides that, starting a business is not easy and it is even more stressful than having a job.
Replicate it, charge for people to learn it, sell the business, bring in a team to help run it.

Are you sure that he wasn't just talking about real estate development and not founding in general? I think his point was that since the financial crisis it has become much more difficult to get a loan as a new real estate developer which makes it hard to enter this industry.

I woke up this morning and said, I am going to google.... "How to be a millionaire" . haha thank you for the real time interviews. Love it! Some of us miss out on things like this or for whatever reason we have to watch from home and aren't able or not confident enough to go door to door and ask people these types of questions. You've actually inspired me to do the same. I live in Eastern North Carolina so a lot of the nicer homes are along side the beach and they are beautiful. our town goes from country to like another world when you enter there lol. As a tech recruiter, I agree with everything that lady said. The job is ridiculously challenging and ridiculously rewarding.
@NKi having to meet certain metrics each month. Dealing with the human element. Meaning, never knowing who will no show interviews, no show for the first day, back out of interviews or jobs. There are companies with unrealistic expectations, bosses who say they want one thing but actually want something else. The list is long and can get repetitive in some aspects. The trick is to focus on what's in front of you.

Loved the hedge fund guy as well. Making money IS a game, and there are a very distinct set of rules to making it. You just have to learn the rules, and play by them to be successful.
I used to try to explain to people that the stock market is really just a fun game. Now I just call myself a philanthropist as I give more than half my earnings to charity :)

When he was speaking to the finance guy, it reminded me of something Chris Rock said years ago in the "Black In America" documentary. He mentioned that famous people (Mary J Blige, a rapper, etc.) and regular people (a dentist) lived in his building. The idea that a dentist could afford to live in the same building as superstar entertainers really struck me. The finance guy is another example. You don't have to be a business owner, or super famous, to make a ton of money.

I've been unsure about the market due to volatility, at the same time I still feel it's the right time to make profit cos of the price decrease, heard someone speaking of making over $500k since the lockdown and I'm driven to ask what techniques/skillset is needed to achieve this
Very true, people downplay advisors role, until burnt by their mistakes. I remember just after my layoff early 2020 amidst covid outbreak, I needed to stay afloat, hence researched for license advisors. Thankfully, I came across someone of practical knowledge, and decades of experience, my stagnant reserve of $325K has yielded nearly $1m after subsequent investments so far.

There are a lot of independent advisors you might look into. But i work with Carol Pasol Lewis and I have been working together for nearly four years, and she is excellent. You could proceed with her if she satisfies your discretion. I endorse her.
I just looked her up on the internet and found her webpage with her credentials. I wrote her a outlining my financial objectives and planned a call with her.

Loving these videos. It's been inspiring me to start another business in my 50s. I noticed that, when you made the focus about the beautiful houses initially, the more they warmed up to you. Interesting and of note that no one is above flattery. Lol.
The guy at 5:49 is spot on. I'm not an architect because I'm in another high demand industry but I know for a fact that architecture is one of the best paid jobs with a high demand for those who have experience in it.

As I was listening to the physician talk about how he was pushed into the field instead of choosing it himself, it made me think about how not all people with millions in the bank and multiple nice houses are happy. What matters more, happiness or money? The key is to have both of course, but I don’t think that’s the reality for the majority of people in these situations.

I can't imagine being a physician in today's world of health care. What a nightmare. The red tape alone boggles the mind. And everyone expects to get care for free.
I noticed he said he was an ER Doctor, which can mean he does not have a traditional Doctors Office and staff and billing hurdles, etc. The hours are somewhat erratic, but the office business side is less burdensome.

Although the path can be simpler, less costly, and less theory saturated than architecture school. Simple formula: Find joy in the practice of making things that others find value in, despite the challenges that arise. Charge for your time and/or a product of your efforts. Correct course as you go.
I hope this becomes a series , this left me wanting more.

Kudos to Noah for engaging random people at their homes. Folks are naturally uncomfortable in this type of engagement, yet Noah showed how to disarm them and encourage them to open up. There is an entire lesson in what to say and the body language to use when engaging people you don't know.
Noah, You have the right attitude - curiosity is where it all starts, leading into experiments, trial-and-error, learning, then surprise little successes that boost morale and confidence and more determined experiments, climb, climb, the years go by, then you find you have a good stash of money. I'm glad you had this much success knocking on rich people's doors lol. I really liked the individuals who had 9-5 jobs who are doing as good as the cliche "CEO" or biz owner, definitely breaks that myth and feels attainable for us regular poors. The guy who is aware that things are way different today is a breathe of fresh air in his generation.

Many years ago I learned a term from Michael Masterson (Agora Publishing), he said... "intrepreneuer". Someone that creates extreme value inside a company, so much so they're hard to replace. and... they find opportunities for the company but negotiate a bonus before sharing or implementing.

Have someone in my family who worked in the past as a tech that would go into people's homes to install things. He would go into these really big houses and would always ask them what they did to afford such a beautiful house. Most everyone said they invested in the market.

Just few days till we draw the curtains of 2021. Really glad I took my 2021 plans serious even though am not where I want to be now. Did couple of investments that changed me for good. Right now, I get home to a happy kids that welcomes me. It’s not over till it’s over. You can still achieve something. Love and light fam.
