- Ray Fisher is an actor best known for his work in Zack Snyder's DCEU as Victor Stone/Cyborg. His performance was recently restored with the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League on HBO Max. In this interview we discuss a wide array of topics including his origins as an actor, his background in theatre, getting the part of Victor Stone/Cyborg, the recent headlines he has found himself in, working on True Detective, his upcoming project "Women of the Movement" (coming to ABC), and so much more!

@@LadyJenevia I'm in such awe and support of Ray Fisher. It was so amazing to hear him talk about a variety of topics within the industry, and that was due in part to your great interviewing skills. You allowed him to feel comfortable and really open up. On the flip side, I really loved how you played off him. Your energies were great together. Also, thank you for opening up about the model minority myth and the h@te crimes against AAPI especially during these times with the h@te crimes against AAPI. Thank you for talking about that difficult topic and not censoring your emotions. I really appreciate it.

I also refuse to let someone in such a massive position of power in the industry use their platform to try to spin old-timey rhetoric that is extremely harmful to multiple marginalised communities. I don’t typically like to talk about things in interviews that are THAT distressing to me but certain people left me no choice but to address it. 🤷🏻♀️
I never expected Ray Fisher to have so much personality.
Joss Whedon really did every thing he could to hide it. He didn’t let Cyborg shine at all. I’m glad Snyder brought it back out.

I've made a bunch of comparison videos between 2017 and 2021 Justice League, and people are shocked seeing how Cyborg was just basically cut out of the 2017 movie.
The difference is like day and night.

This is an amazing interview. I am so glad you were able to have such an in depth conversation together that you can share with us. Speaking from my place as a white man, I think nuance is something that is missing in many of the mainstream media pieces about what Ray has brought up in the last year about the theatrical release of justice league. I am not done watching this yet, but I will when I get the chance. Thank you to both of you.

This movie CANNOT be a “cul de sac”. This story has so much more to dig into and explore. Zack Snyder has proven over and over that a) he is an auteur AND an artist and b) he’s the kind of person who deserves to be supported.
Don’t want or need more “products”. Need AND want more art, that not only has something to say, but says so with intelligence, integrity, heart and soul ❤️❤️❤️

Okay I just watched the whole video and so many times throughout it, I just really wanted to hug LadyJenevia and Ray a lot of times. And everytime she talked about the effect on the asian community it really hit me hard as an Asian person myself. I'm not an American citizen at all but it still hits different because I can't help but think of friends and family who are there.
These two are so incredible, and articulate, and sweet.
I haven't gotten there yet, cause y'all just started talking about the not-happening Rick Famuyiwa Flash movie - if they were gonna do Flashpoint, there's literally a race war built-in to that story and it would have been the perfect place for that allegory to be included and I'm real sad he's not doing it anymore D;
Hope Ray Fisher will have a more successful career after the Zack Snyder's cut gave him rightful justification.

Adding this: thanks for the conversations about Black hair and blacklisting. I honestly wish some of the trades would cover these stories as a special - even if they let sources stay anonymous - just to make it clear what kind of issues BIPOC artists have had to - and continue to - deal with. I was aware some actors would get blacklisted - Nicole Beharie is one good recent example I can think of offhand but now I'm curious as to how often that happened.
I mean, now I kind of understand why so few black actresses publicly shared me too stories. I'm sure just commenting on not having hair and makeup people who know how to work with Black skin and hair could have gotten some people blacklisted lately.
