Hey all, have had lots of comments asking which prop I got and the specs, here’s a link to the prop on the Oz Propellers web site. I have the 11 pitch version… Say hi to Rowan and the team for me😁🤙
www.ozpropellers.com.au/outboard-propellers/yamaha/yamaha-t25-30b-40-50-60hp-3-blade-stainless-steel-power-tech-propeller-scb3/
Man, the Oz Propellors team are absolute legends for hooking you up with that on short notice. Legends.
Yep Rowan’s a good guy🏆
Rowan has helped me out as well as the girls there. Awesome local business, cant speak highly enough of them!
PROPer legends hahahahahahah
Your family are all champions for this one! Prop trials in the downpour! What an adventure!
Love the new boat, Rokkit! Been watching your videos for some time now. Especially love your island camping ones. After seeing you and your beautiful family on the boat, I had a thought. You should do an overnighter (maybe a few nights? lol) on/in the boat with a catch and cook, all on the boat. Stay safe, brother! Much love from Florida! Jeff
Yep I think I’d like to try that, especially on the first island trips. Even to get a feel for the way she acts at anchor👍
Looking forward to the island hopping adventures again!
The stainless prop might be the overall winner still, but you might want to throw an estimated payload in to the boat and test again-ie the test in the rain with more people in the boat have been more representative.
I'm 70 years old.
I've owned boats must of my life.
I own one now.
A stainless prop will out do a aluminum prop any day in all ocean conditions.
They are a whole lot more expensive.
They don't flex so that hit you took on your aluminum prop would had probably ruin your shaft on the lower unit or the main shaft.
I've seen it.
I think you should check your shafts anyway.
But your right in a stainless prop it would had been worse.

Cant wait to see an island trip with the new boat :)
Hi Rod, Im a boat owner , i decided to go stainless, and quickly learned the prop is made to take the brunt. Get smart take a extra prop and dont screw your motor, stick with aluminum, for your area, or take the SS to make the trip then switch to the Aluminum for the fish.. Thats what we ended up doing, because you always have a Freshy to make it home.. NICE !!! and thats why i carry goggles and have a bimini top
Yep SS props are unforgiving on your gearcase, alloy all the way on a fishing boat.
@@colinwest5496 ss will not damage the gear box they are on a rubber prob hub if you hit somthing hard enough it will just spin on the hub.
@@bustedoff6038 Ah ok thxs for the update did not know that. 👍
Dude
You make this stabi craft boat look SOO GOOD.
They should be paying you for these videos. No one - Could ever make an Advertisement as good for this open style stabicraft skiff, that is as good as your videos. I mean that.
Second note is just congratulations = such an awesome platform for what you do.
Come fish Alaska Sometime!

Heya Rod, just wanted to say thanks for bringing these smaller open Stabis to my attention mate, i always only saw their big boats on the water and had no idea these existed. I've been endlessly trying to find something to work towards that was a small boat that could do big boat things and feeling like all the usual ally options just weren't gonna cut it without going over 6m. Then I saw your vid on this new gem and looked into it and am pretty hyped by the new 1550 frontier. Just such versatile little bangers these boats! Thanks again for reminding me to check them out!
Cheers Mate, yea they definitely fill a gap that a lot of other small boats can't at that size👌
@RoKKiT KiT yep absolutely. I want something I can fish AND dive off, that's great in the bay, can hit an estuary or lake and still go out the heads confidently on days that aren't just a glassoff all while being able to launch easily by myself. Not many options that tick all those boxes haha! Cheers bud
@@helimansam I've got a 1410 (older version of the 1450) and it's an absolute weapon. Been out in that thing in seas we had no business being out in but never felt unsafe. The newer 14 and 1550s are a big step above in seaworthiness
@jac k thanks for the info mate. I'm def sold already. Now I just gotta dig around a bit and see if I can find a big ole pile of coin buried somewhere 😂😂
Be sure that you keep the white prop and extra cotter pins in the boat in the event you ever hit a rock or similar on one of your island trips.
Ohhhh ho ho ho….that deep blue paint job. I hope that is your nickname for the boat: Deep Blue.
Oh wow, that was a brave family trip, rainy but hopefully funny?! The boat is nice speedy ! cant wait to see you up and away, i hope for good weather and an Island adventure, good luck💙✌
Definitely need a Bimini or something for that bad boy Rod. Makes a world of difference just being able to get out of the sun and weather
Rod doesn't even wear sunnies!
dude your boats one of the coolest looking nicest boats ive evr seen.... its nothing like what we have here in the southern usa.... its bad ass man
Tony from Christchurch NZ. You have inspired me to get out and enjoy our wonderful coastline. Love your new boat. Living the dream. I've got a truekit 3.3. Love it. so much fun. Keep doing what youre doin.
I just love that setup you have there. It truly is perfect for your style of fishing and exploration.
Nice one mate, couldn't of picked a better test day😀. At least you know the self draining deck works well😄😄. Look forward to more videos, keeps me going while I wait for delivery of mine.👍
putting the "sunnies" on before you punch it...whilst saying "let's do this!" got a hard chuckle. well done!!!!
keep being you mate!
absolutely killing it!!!
To me the standard prop looked like it would push more water therefore in my eyes should work better with a full load in the boat. Whereas the stainless picks up speed and goes lots faster without the load in the boat. Hope that makes sense.
Can't wait to see a camping vid from this boat!
That must have been one heck of a rock. Glad you are able to get it fixed and adventures in the future :)
Lovely boat. What a ripper! Can't wait to see your next adventure trip. Will you be taking more gear now? Any "nice to have" or luxury things you can now take? Cheers, Ryan from Cornwall, England. Love your channel
Great looking boat my man! I enjoy these 'testing' vids. They are interesting to watch. You put in a lot of work editing these and it doesn't go unnoticed. Keep up the great work!
that step up seating in the bow is awesome, I might do that to my boat.
Love the new boat! Can’t wait for the new adventures. Mele Kalikimaka to you and the family.
Cool.... the boat looks awesome and the stainless steel prop is just sleek and fantastic...
That is a sweet ride, good on ya. Thank you.
Brave man changing the prop over the water.
Knowing my luck I would have dropped it in the mud, never found it again and had to row home.
Good looking boat mate.
Love the new boat....The Holeshot will be much better with the Stainless Steel Prop. Enjoy the new boat, Love your channel
Great Setup! 💯You might want to have a variable switch on the bait tank to get a better control of the flow! Some bait gets beat up with heavy flow! You can also put a baffle in the tank to stop water from going back and forth! Take It Easy
Nice to have a couple props Rod. I use my aluminum prop for exploring and low water levels, the damn stainless wont even bend sometimes, but you will tear out gears on a good hit on bottom structure.
Bit of a weapon!!! You sure do know how to pick your boating weather that looked gloriously damp hahahaha. Pole cam getting good shots too!
One happy family boating running pretty smooth can’t wait for some serious fishing 🎣
Good on ya mate, your content is great. So good to see the rewards for your efforts... Keep the posts coming. I'm not a fisherman, the only thing I catch when I try is a cold 😂 but your videos are inspiring to keep giving it a go. Looks like you have a ball when you go out on your adventures... 🍻
Family day out eehh , prop test !! My word your weather perception is excellent, Torrential Rain and windblown, the icing on the cake when mum comes back from the bakery, yu drop the cream bun on the deck. Oohh man , Those boys are Gunna be up for this, dunno bout mum though think she's Gunna leave it to you boys, also buy them a small cast net pronto, you won't regret it later ,livies rule same as prawns.
What a little rockit mate!! She skips along a bit . Nice work rod .
Hay mate been commercial fisherman a lot of years be careful running a stainless prop only have to tap the reef or a rock and can destroy ya gear box or drive sharft have a good one mate
RoKKIT KIT fussing this is a scam
Beautiful boat, Lovely family!!!
That is a lovely bit of kit, i have been cruising through your back catalogue and love your content, i am in the uk and we are not as lucky as you guys with the weather but still manage to get a few fish, i have a small sib i use but am really thinking of upgrading a bit, thanks for your content....
Just from a video/content perspective, I just love how much less shaky the cameras are on this boat than the smaller one, each wave would shake the whole screen before!
Have you considered putting the livey tank on the rear duckboard behind? Keeps the deck that little bit more clear, extra space is always a bonus in a tinny. Plus any excess overflow will not spill on deck. Just a thought
Can't wait to see a trip with this beast!
Great video Rod! Keep it up!
Another awesome video mate! Kudos from Seattle.
I think the S/S props just bend if they get hit. While the alloy one's chip or explode. I think the S/S ones can be repaired/straightened. This boat is sooooo very different to the red boat from just two weeks ago. You're already talking about baby marlin fishing. Go Rod!
One day we're going to see you on InnerTube as a grey old wrinkly man in some HUGE Stebercraft, or what ever the latest fishing boat monster is!
Kudos for eating the spilled food. Power/dad moves only!
Quite amazed on how easy that alloy prop broke. I used an alloy prop on my boat for over 15 years bashing it on mangroves, rocks, boat ramps..anyway those stainless props are great 👍
Random shopping cart 19:40 😂
Reminds me of taking my wife and two kids out on my flats boat in Florida. If its summertime we usually get soaked at some point.
14:44 Twahn's towel 🤣 I need to get one like that!
Haha, the boob towels😁
Great boat! Ready for new adventures
That deck wash live bait setup is unreal 🤩🙏how good is that , hope you get the million tablet as soon as possible from CZcams Rod many blessings over Xmas to your beautiful family
Being waiting for you to use the new boat. Can't wait to see you use that boat in the ocean.
Great test. I’ll have to hit up aus prop as I need a new prop for my saltwater series.
Can't wait to see you do a solo trip on your new boat mate... epic
Great set up mate. I was told SS props don't give when hit and can damage your gearbox, I'm not sure if that's true or not. I stuck with alloy on my 50 Suzuki mainly because I couldn't afford a SS one. Can't wait for your next adventure.
There are flowrite livewell kits you can get that are very clean. I had one on my tinny and no water leaks.
Hey bud. Awesome vids. This is a great one for me as I have a f40 on my tub as well. Have you posted the pitch specs in the comments? I think I may go the same prop as you thanks to this video.
Keep up the great work mate. Always look forward to your vids 👌
Bloody nice boat mate 👍
Can't wait to see you do a fishing trip on the new rig
Mate those sunnies look really cool on you.
I recon you have found your new look
Haha, they were just petrol station sunnies I think😅
Boat looks sick.
I made a similar bait tank for my old 4.3m stessl out of a 40l drum, worked great.
Only thing I’d say about yours is, is the plastic UV stabilised? if not, may not last.
your boat looks mint bro perfect color combo'
similar luck to timmy turtle with his new outboard! good luck in the future lookin forward to seeing some island adventures mate!
The new boat looks sharp! Glad you got the new prop on and tested. Can't wait to see where we go with you next! - Also, was that a shopping cart off the shore, by the bridge?
I have done a lot of testing with a similar rig. I was sponsored by PowerTech Props during testing. You will find that the PowerTech prop is cupped which makes it function like 1 pitch higher than the same pitch in a straight prop. I run the exact same PowerTech prop, same pitch when heavily loaded and run 5,900 rpm. Moderately loaded I run a 12 pitch at 5,900 rpm at 31 to 34 mph. Lightly loaded I run 13 pitch PowerTech and can reach 36 to 37 mph. My boat is lighter than yours. FYI I get about 9 miles per gallon with heavy load in moderate seas. I can get 12 mpg with moderate load in calm seas. Good luck with your project, I believe you have the best PowerTech prop for your application! That 11 straight pitch is allowing the motor to over rev. You could likely go a bit faster with a PowerTech 12 pitch, but it wouldn't be good for all around usage. You got very similar results in your testing as I did.
Oz propellers… you totally rock.
You should always go for service check after such incident. Just to be sure that hit to the prop did not damage the prop stem or something else. Just minore change can do a lot regarding the engine performance.
Hoping to see soon a new island-camping video with rhis new boat
I dig marine worms in Maine in the u.s. this boat and ur setup would be perfect for getting around to mudflats some of them are little bit out ther around some islands
Mate, that is one hell of a swanky boat. I'm jealous.
Nice rig Rod!
I am jealous of that Trailer! probably best looking trailer I have seen for a while! Are you going to do any flush system install on trailer?
Live bait fridge, or space to cool a couple of beers.. I leave the choice up to you. Don't let me down 😄😄
Love it mate great content 👍❤
Hey Rod
Thanks for the content may I ask what's the camera your using on the back of the boat I really like the shots and how it hides the boom pole it sits on ?
Thanks again
being able to wash you deck down with pressurised water is invaluable , no smells or slip hazards far from home.....nice one.
I changed my prop yesterday on my new Yamaha as well.
I'd probably stick to the alloy tho as you have already hit something and the places you visit are extremely hazardous. If you hit something with a stainless prop all that damage is caused inside the motor. Just my thoughts
True but I have managed to have stainless props on my last few boats so hopefully I can be carful and not ruin anything 👍🤞
@@rokkitkit true true
Can we buy merchandise?
Back to Saturday videos, normal releases again. How's the merchandise coming along? The "nice" long sleeve is a great fit.
You can see the vast difference in them props. That stainless one should pick up speed lots faster. Good to see the ten second rule applies on the boat too late. Can't waste half a cream bun 😂😂
Loving the content mate! Thanks for sharing and congrats on the new boat.
Hey, could you give us a quick rundown on the Simrad console and how it integrates with the outboard?
Yep will do a run though of more of the sounder and other bits soon👍
Yep will do a run though of more of the sounder and other bits soon👍
0:45 proceeds to drop a 24 minute fire video
Great vid. Maybe leave the hose curled up in the bottom of the yak when filling?
Love that little livewell Rod. I might steal that idea. What pump have you used?
That's a nice boat.
Those sunnies do suit you! Also your boat is faster than the boostedboiz boat lol
Wicked, Rod.
Beware of stainless propellers, because that's a small engine, and you can damage the shaft or the gear box. For those engines it's a good idea aluminum propellers....
yep, that could be a new gearbox if that prop was stainless.
Hey rod I'm also looking into a 40 yam tiller. I was told it's difficult to link the 40 to the sounder for engine info. Is there any truth to that. Love the new set up. #dreamboat
I love that boat... ✌️😀🚤
Hey buddy...love you're videos...do they make some kind of collapsible canopy for that boat...maybe that seats into the cupholders...maybe not to have up with the boat running fast but to have kept everyone dry...you are living life to the fullest!!!
Yea might think about a Bimini at some point👍
Made my day with your reply!!!..I'm 62 in Florida!... loving every minute of what you do!!...I'm a Surveyor so I was using Google Earth trying to find your Islands!...it's just incredibly Fascinating! And then when you cook and eat your catch!!...your kids are going to grow up knowing how to live life!!!..I respect you!!...so glad I found this!!
did you check if the prop shaft is ok after the impact? i heard that after a hit like this, its good to make sure the prop shaft is still in line (matter of mm) to prevent addl vibration and longer term damage to the engine/lower unit
Yes seems all good which is lucky, just need to be extra careful from here on👍
Mate what is your secret to getting the missus onboard with a new kayak and then a new boat within months of each other!? 🤣
New subscriber, love the vids 👍
Love that boat
Indeed a little Bimini top for that
Groovy little boat mate! Why not just leave the hose attached when you use the live bait tank?
Making the family sit in the rain to doa prop test. Epic hahaha
Haha, yea I know how to pick a good weather day😅😂
Definitely island lol love those types of videos
