Hey, I am planning to join Msc Financial Management there, do employers really care about the university we come from? what are the opportunities after graduating from Kingston?
Hiya! Honestly speaking, I think it depends on what industry you're going into and the company itself. I think in general some employers do still have a certain view of people based on the unis they go to just going from what I remember being told during my A Levels but I do think there is more openess now 🤔 kingston really advertises itself as one of the best unis in terms of graduating contacts, etc but I'm still in the process of my 3rd year so can't really say right now!
I went there from '09 to '12. Some of the best three years of my life. However, the tuition was 'only' like 3495 pounds a year back then, so it was worth it. I can see that it's three times that amount now. I sure as hell don't think I'd have studied in the UK if the prices were that high, especially now since you're out of the EU. It's probably be even more expensive for me.
Yeah, it's ridiculous how much uni fees are honestly, no matter what university you attend...but hey-ho 😮💨

I got an unconditional because I chose them as my first choice. But if I hadn't, I would have needs Bs and and A I think 💖
What kind of job opportunities do you think are there in the town for students?(part time while studying and full time post)
There's usually loads going in retail shops and restaurants, or if you're willing to travel, central london will have plenty!! I really recommend trying to get a student union job as they pay very well and are super nice 😊
I'm going to Kingston in September. Can I ask, how did you find it as a non-drinker? I don't drink either and I wouldn't like to feel pressured into it by others.
Oo amazing, congrats!! Put simply I have never once felt bad or pressured for not drinking! Obviously there will be people who try to but you get them everywhere and I've been fortunate enough to have good people and friends around me. If you were to come across someone who takes "issue" with that then I'd just walk away quite honestly, but I haven't met anyone like that!
@@abbyklake Thanks! I am excited but also very nervous. I've got a tester/experience day coming up where hopefully I'll get to find out more. One thing I was unsure about is my age, by the time I join I'll be 24. What's the age demographic like there? I wouldn't want to feel like the oldest one there 😂😂
@@Walshymagic98 well a majority of my main friends on the course and on other courses are 22-26 and obviously there are those my age too! Age range is pretty diverse honestly which I love as I tend to find it easier talking with people older than me 😊

Tuition (the £9250 for UK residents or more if you're an international student) only covers university learning. So usually in the UK you can get a maintenance loan that can contribute to rent, although this depends on your age, parents' income, etc. But rent isn't covered by the tuition fees no.
Ok dont rinse me. But I didn't sort out my accommodation for a while and I started looking around 1 week ago. Everything is basically sold out(private at well 😐)... any tips trying to find a place to live?
Oh, man 😂 you'll have to look into private accom most likely! Maybe try ringing university and seeing if they can put you on a waitlist. My friend booked a room with Vibe in kingston which you could also check out. Apart from that, go on websites like zoopla and rightmove to find private accom 😊 I hope everything goes well! I'm sure something will pop up for you as someone always pulls out or something!
Also look into places in Richmond and if worse comes to worse, further out in London and it might come down to having to commute which would be expensive but I'm not too sure where else you could look 🤔

how much pound we will pay for accommodation if we live in rent room ?
For uni accom you're looking at £150+ (some a lil cheaper) a week, if privately then probably a more more money, e.g. £150-£200+ a week
Is that a premium en suite room what do the standard en suite rooms look like
My background is just my room back at my parents! At clayhill halls of residence at Kingston they are all en suite 😊
I applied for MA in Journalism Sep 2022 intake. Honestly, I chose Kingston cuz of the location like you said and it's a top journalism college, at least online. Their website is also convincing. I am Indian so what's the diversity like in the journalism department and do they offer internships? Is it easy to get part time jobs? I'm really stressed 😬
Aw I have my fingers crossed for you! I've heard that the MA course is far better than the BA so I can only hope that is true for you. The diversity is always going to vary depending on who applies honestly speaking but on campus itself there are such diverse groups of people from all sorts of backgrounds and ethnicities, so you definitely won't be alone! Participating in sports and societies can help you meet new people especially.
For my BA course in particular we had to find our own internships but the lecturers shared ones they found and are there to help if you ever need it. Part time jobs are always going in the student union and locally, it's just a case of finding them and applying really.

How many days university class are offline means how many days in a week you attend the classes 3 or 4
Depends on subject honestly! I go in 4 days a week for 2-4hrs max 😊

Hmm, as I say in the video I do have very mixed feelings out Kingston honestly! I don't know anything about microbiology I'm afraid but for journalism at least, I don't feel I've gotten value for money. But of course this is my personal experience so do remember that! 😊 best of luck to you though with your uni applications! 💜

Hey, I wouldn't be able to answer that I'm afraid as I only did an undergrad degree and I'm not an international student! Might be worth asking around and trying to look into how the uni compares against other UK unis, e.g. student feedback, etc. I hope everything goes well for you 😊

@@hairatkada1451 honestly, there's no way of ever knowing! You just have to go with your gut instinct, at least for me! Every uni has its pros and cons, there were lots of good things about kingston but equally lots of bads too. It's just figuring out what values (e.g. location, money, course content) you're willing to be more lenient on and going from there. When you look at your top options, what separates one from the other? What do you like about one uni vs another? Go over it that way and I have no doubts you'll have your answer by the end of it 😊

I've been to Knights Park briefly where all the artsy students go (hehe) and it looks pretty good from what I can tell through the windows! They have studios and that I believe 😊

It honestly depends on the job but in London it's usually £8-11 per hour, usually £8-10 I believe

Hey! Umm, I can only speak for my course (journalism) but honestly I feel like I've mostly been teaching myself everything over the past two and a half years. I don't think I've gotten my money's worth honestly speaking but then I am doing a practical course so it's hard to kind of dismiss the teaching entirely. Maybe try seeing if you can find and reach out to any students doing business as they will probably be able to offer you more helpful insight on your question 😊

Hey, I can only speak for uni accommodation but you're best bet is probably Walkden? I'm not 100% sure so check out the uni accommodation page 😊
