I'm 40 and Ive had a ton of NICE guitars come and go, but the two guitars that I play daily, I recieved as very generous gifts from my parents for my 15th and 19th bday. Hamer USA Special electric and a Taylor 312.
When you were showing it front and back at the beginning it sounded like there was a rattle - like an irretrievable guitar pick floating around in there. Happens to the best!😄
Thanks for the story. My Dad walked through the door on Christmas when I was 7 (I’m almost 60 now) with an acoustic guitar. It got me going. Thanks Dad! By the way you said that you tuned to C, is that DADGAD down a step? I’ve always enjoyed your playing!
Wow!! Love the sound of that old Martin. I have a 2017 d28 with the forward shifted bracing and play it in our bluegrass gospel band in AL. I love it but I will be glad when it opens up fully!! Carry on man!! We need the inspiration!!😊
I just got a used 2017 and I love it. I live in South Alabama. My family has a long history of playing southern gospel music all over. I got my start playing in Assembly of God church’s myself.
Hi, Cody! Great guitar you have there, buddy. It's in very capable hands, too. Question: That beauty doesn't have the tell-tale cracks behind the bridge that many old Martins have. What do you use for a humidifier on that thing? Anyway, hope you're coming up to Grey Fox - hope to see you there. Tom
This a great story... I'm gonna get a guitar for my son, and I want to get one that inspires him, because a bad guitar won't do that. But, I don't think I can afford a mint '41 D-18 :-)
The new Martins are fantastic too. They started building the D18 and HD28 like they did in the 1930s again which is often called “ pre war” Martins. 2018 and newer D18 and HD28 have scalloped and forward shifted bracing like the old Martins had. I think your son would be thrilled with one 👍🏻
What a great story! And what a wonderful Dad!

You've got something rolling around inside the guitar.
Maybe Rattlesnake rattles. Old tradition.
Sounds great
Omg! That's awesome
unreal playing and sound/tone/resonance..what strings were used here
Is hidden glue- VTS and ADI top realy worth it? I basically only fingerpick without picks and brush-strum in between (Flicking). Thanks

If anyone could tell me the name of this tune I'd be grateful!
And like everybody else, something found its way into the box and is clanking around...
Well I have a few questions for me
😏
Cody could play a cheap " Estaphan " guitar and make it sound like A million dollar instrument
Zza
Totally Rad.......
