Deep Night | The jinghu and orchestra 京胡与乐队《夜深沉》

‘Deep Night’ was originally popular #Pekingopera music, usually brought to life by the jinghu, a traditional Chinese bowed string instrument with two strings used primarily in Peking operas.
Composer Wu Hua arranged it for the jinghu and orchestra as one part of his Farewell to My Concubine suite. The Farewell to My Concubine suite describes the tragic story of Xiang Yu, a Chinese rebel leader during the fall of the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), and his beloved concubine, Yuji. #traditionalChinesemusic

《夜深沉》原是一首脍炙人口的京剧曲牌，后由作曲家吴华在原曲牌的基础上改编成京胡与乐队，并成为《虞美人组曲》中的一首。
该作品以曲牌体的旋律为外形，多层次、多视角地刻画了虞姬的人物形象，表现了虞姬与楚霸王项羽在生死诀别时那轻盈的舞姿、英武的剑术，以及深切的爱恋、无畏的精神等广阔丰富的内心世界，特别是在乐曲的最后部分加入了“花梆子”的华彩乐段，使乐曲的情绪更加热烈奔放，大气磅礴。
