Diamond David Lee Roth is/was the best front man in business, with the best scream, as well. Excellent reaction.

Diamond Dave is the first ever Rock front-man martial artist. DLR has trained in the martial arts since the age of 12, that is why all those kicks and flexibility in "Jump" look so very technically clean.
At Van Halen concerts back in the day, David Lee would do Wushu weapons exhibitions on stage during the actual band performance, Eddie, Alex and Michael would play music in the background.

@@EFamilyMedia It's surprising the things you find in boxes packed away for years, its like opening a time capsule.

My wife and I met in high school. She had a VH poster on her locker door. One day, I stopped to talk to her because we had that in common. The rest is history. We are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks. We met David Lee Roth in 1999 and told him how we met and that we named our firstborn, "David Lee". He said, "Stellar!" We chatted for about 10 minutes in a hotel lobby. There was no one else there but us, Dave, and his bodyguard/personal assistant. Dave was very kind and genuinely interested in our conversation. I've seen him in concert with Van Halen and solo about 8 times. Rock On!

If you like live performances, you should try Metallica--Master of puppets, the Québec Magnetic version. It's my favorite pick, because I was there in this crowd--even lost 2 teeth there, after being hit by someone by accident. The interaction with the crowd was amazing. Or for something different, Van Halen's hot for teacher--this one was made almost as a joke, so it's funny.

This song ' Jump ' came out in 1984 and or Van Halens 6th album. How about going back to their 1st album which put them on the world stage with songs like ' Ain't talking bout love ' or Jamies crying ' Actually every song on that album is fire. But ya... take a listen at Edwards (Early) studio guitar tone. It dropped Jaws all over the world as a modern day Mozart was on the scene 🎸🎸😍😍 Enjoyed ur reaction 👍👍

RIP Eddie Van Halen. Such a beautiful soul and the most prolific guitarist on the planet! Saw them a time or two or three🤟🏼‼️‼️‼️‼️ Feel fortunate to have lived during the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s when the best music came about! These guys r top tier for sure! The Sammy Hagar years were the best and turned them into something just absolutely unbelievable‼️ That’s my opinion but nonetheless both front men were the very best!!! And btw David Lee Roth is into the martial arts, hence all those off the chain moves🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼

Edward 'Eddie' Van Halen (guitar) was an exceptional talent who changed guitar playing forever when Van Halen debuted in 1978... His band set the stage for the 80's rock revival after the late 70's disco era... But by 1983, Eddie was experimenting more w/ keyboards and new synthesizer technology... 'Jump' was a track that he had written in 1981 on keyboard but Van Halen's original singer David Lee Roth hated it and refused to work on it... Roth wanted Van Halen to remain a guitar rock band.
Finally, Eddie put his foot down; 'Jump' was going to be on the album '1984' and Roth was forced to write lyrics and sing it... It became Van Halen's only #1 hit single in the US and the '1984' album sold 10 million copies in America.
However, that record was the last straw between Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth... In 1985, Eddie began working on music for a new Van Halen album that had more keyboards than past records... Roth became more interested in recording a solo EP 'Crazy from the heat' ... and plotting a movie w/ him as the star... As a result, Van Halen and David Lee Roth parted ways.
Eddie Van Halen contacted singer Sammy Hagar about auditioning for Van Halen in 1985 and showed him the new music in his studio... Hagar heard some tracks and wrote lyrics and loved the songs that were coming out... Sammy Hagar signed on to replace David Lee Roth as the singer of Van Halen... his voice was much more powerful and the resulting album '5150' was released in 1986 and charted at #1 in the US.
