As an Oxboxtra fan who drives in demolition derbies, this is the height of youtube content for me :D
To answer Jane's question at 10:27 (what damage do two cars hitting each other head-on receive?), Wreckfest has 4 damage settings:
- Normal is what you're seeing here: Cars can take several strong hits, and there's "attacker’s advantage" enabled, meaning that when one car rams another, the “victim” takes more damage, and the “attacker” takes less.
- Realistic is what you would expect: Cars can be wrecked with just a couple of strong hits, and there's no attacker's advantage, so two cars hitting each other head-on can wreck each other out. Depending on the track, you may win a race just because you're the only car still running!
- Intense is like Realistic, but with two major changes: Attacker’s advantage is enabled, and hitting things that aren't cars is less punishing than in Realistic.
- Extreme is a bit different: It cranks the visual damage to 11 and disables the health bar, so you only get wrecked when you lose both front (or rear) wheels. Until then, you can get smash and bashed and crash and flattened all you want.
As usual Oxbox grants us great educational insight: A toilet handles like a toilet, a sofa handles like a sofa and a pig has a flap situation.
I'm 26 and I can honestly say that Mike's Only Fools and Horses references are Lovely Jubbly for me. I grew up on VHSs of that show. 😁😆

This was a classic. I was trying to fold laundry while watching, but could barely catch my breath from laughing so hard. Andy’s toilet, Jane’s driver becoming two dimensional but the moment I had to rewind? Andy, on the toilet, rear ending Mike, driving a couch, and sending him to space (that isn’t a sentence you type every day). What a freaking riot.
At the end of the day this IS a physics competition so it makes sense Jane would excel.
Good to know where the Bad Boy of Bus Driving learnt how to drive the Oxbox bus 🚌

man, my desire for a vigilante 8 remaster / remake grows yet again.
I'd prefer a remaster/remake of Interstate 76 which was the first game in that series, it was a less arcadey take on vehicular combat.

Compared to the Lawn Mowing Simulator, this is more of Mike's calling. No grass. And just mowing other vehicles across the muddy tracks.

On the Only Fools and Horses references, I recently saw adverts saying Only Fools was celebrating its 40th anniversary. 40th! Never particularly watched it myself, but damn doesn't that make you feel old.
A sofa getting up to 120 Km/H! That's like 70mph! You could take that sofa on the Interstate!
I mean *I'd* want a lot more safety apparatuses and maybe a windshield, but you COULD keep up with traffic.
