@@willone6560 Blanche (Belgium 2017) also cried during the rehearsals and everybody counted her out but she finished the contest in 4th place. Roxen's second rehearsal was much better than the first.
Roxen’s vocal was weak because she was crying during her rehearsals as she was overwhelmed by the arena (I’m sure she’ll be fine next time!), Montaigne didn’t travel to Rotterdam due to Australian covid restrictions stopping her (she is really upset about it) and Destiny’s boots are uneven cause they are trying to decide which they prefer!

I'm so excited for Ukraine's performance, the energy of that song is just incredible. The only eurovision song this year I've actually been listening to outside of the context of eurovision.

6:48 Montaigne is literally not allowed to travel by her government! 😔 There are no commercial flights between Australia and Europe at the moment; only national level athletes are allowed to travel from and to Australia at the moment and every plane they take has to be chartered just for them.

She can, she just needed a pass, the broadcaster SBS is Government funded and you can't tell me that they couldn't get a pass to leave like many Aussie sports people are getting very easily, SBS are cheap as, in 2019 Kate had to crowd fund some of the cost, I donated, so SBS is to blame, poor Montaigne should have been allowed to go, she wanted to, and Australia would have loved to see her in Rotterdam, so everyone get on SBS website contact and pan the shit out of them.

Hi there! Maybe not important, more a fun nerd-fact: There wasn´t an issue with Destiny´s shoes, they wanted to see if it would look better with knee high boots or thigh high boots, so the outfit would be complete for the second rehearsal! :)

Romania's vocals were a scare indeed, but she was crying before and did multiple rehearsals in a row so I think she'll sound better on the night. Malta's staging seemed disappointing but I withhold judgement until I see the full thing! Ukraine is my favourite and I loved this staging, it fit their theme: tradition and nature (the trees) mixed with modern (the futuristic imagery on the screen), so happy they're up in the odds! Oh and definitely check out the acoustic version for Birth Of A New Age by Jeangu Macrooy (the Netherlands), it's really good!

So excited for ESC! So many great contenders this year, I can't predict a winner. Malta's staging and costumes are a let down, hope there is more to it than what we saw, I really adore Destiny and want her to do well. Can't wait for the semi2 rehearsals. Switzerland's song has so many opportunities staging-wise, could be spectacular.

Eurovision hype is real.
The reason from Australia to not go the Netherlands is because the COVID rules from Australia is very strict. The border are closed. So if you go out from Australia, you can’t get go easily back. Also it brings more cost for their broadcaster.

we can listen debate and make predictions months before Eurovision, but once they perform it is completely different story. Song can be nice at first but then again how will singer perform, will voice be on top, will staging be extraordinary or dull, not to mention block voting etc. Cant wait to hear them all at semifinals and final

For Malta they were trialling two different types of boot hence why there are two different ones
as u said these were rehearsals, some people didn’t put their effort into vocals, some were nervous/overwhelmed, some had sound issues etc.. also all of the performances will look better with full lightning, camera angles, makeup etc. so I think all of them did great!

From belgium . Yes she was the old Singer that came back. Also geike was the Singer when they where internationally famous touring with massive attack. Also music used in American movies in the 90's like mad about you and Eden( had been covered by Sarah brightman originally From hooverphonic.). Dress is made by the stylist From lady Gaga. The problem with Romania’s rehearsal video is the fact that EBU chose their first rehearsal, and roxen had a panik attack and cried before starting. But she said that the 2nd rehearsal was better and the 3rd one was exactly how she wished. Also the Romanian delegation said that EBU haven’t respected some of their needs when it comes to audio and lightning configuration, but they will try to work it out till the 2 rehearsal.

I wouldn’t take all the vocals into account for these rehearsals because they are technical rehearsals not vocal rehearsals. We’ll have to wait until the night if the semi to see it all come together

Lithuanian team arrived in the evening, and they were first to rehearse in the next morning. They are also tired and sleepless in that first rehearsal, they need to recover their stamina.
Still the strongest vision and song and vocals besides maybe Greece... Still The Roop is BY FAR my top choice! That song though! ;-)
Luckily I have been accredited for Eurovision so that means I get to see the rehearsals with the camera angles how it will be on TV.

Now that I've heard/saw them all... My top 3? Iceland and Lithuania both my top 2 from last year back with great songs joined with Stefania from Greece whose choice of song last year was borderline tragic but saved it this year with a Dua Lipa Physical clone song with themes ripped from Kylie Minogue's Last Chance. But that's OK. It works cohesively as one of the top entrants along with my personal fav, THE ROOP, which to me still is THE SONG TO BEAT. I love its weirdness/modernity of it like peak Bjork in the 1990's... Plus THE line of 2020/2021... "It's OK to dance alone..."

Destiny has by far the best vocals, I haven't heard anyone near her high notes. This is a song contest and hope everyone judges the songs, not the stage, choreography, or costumes, Try listening with eyes closed and then you will be able to judge the songs and nothing else.

For the public voting the first impression and of course performance is the most important since may voters will be hearing/see many songs for the first time - so the "growing on me" won't help, the song needs instant appeal.
Lesley will be better but she was running on a treadmill that was put on a faster speed that she was training on so she ran out of breath which made her vocals sound off but the second rehearsal will be better when they iron out the mistakes
I can't wait for the projection which I know is gonna be epic! I expect EXPLOSIONS Of glitter and light! ;-)
IMO Since the quality of the entries has increased since 2012, I feel like EBU should introduce a system like "Andra Chansen" from Melodifestivalen since every year we have these situations where one semi final is a bloodbath and one is an easy walk in the park. Most entries from semi final one are better than most entries from semi fianl 2... :/

Wiwiblogs are from the UK and some of their staff went to Rotterdam, I guess it depends on the reason why you are travelling (Wiwiblogs and James Newman are actually going to work there, while I guess Georgina can't properly states she is going to work there).
The problem with Je Me Casse is the stage concept. This type with 1 singer and 4 dancers is ready when the singer will dance with the dancers (e.g. Poland, Croatia, Moldova) In the other hand, take a look at the Norway stage. Tix is on featured plattform, he doesnt dance , same with Netta in 2019. Destiny is on the same plane that the dancers without the plattform. This not work well.
Croatia and Ireland are the ones that I think will improve their placing based on performance.
Malta and Romania nay go down because of their performances/outfits
None of them compares with the Romanian representative, Roxene with the song "Amnesia"! Europe would do well to stop voting geopolitically and to appreciate this exceptional piece performed by a super-talented young woman! Yes, she is very young, but so special!

"Nice classy look, the black" "Nice staging" etc. But you also say "a whole band", do you know that Hooverphonic is a band and not just the singer?
