  • Why is the West Questioning India's Achievements? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
India has become the first country to land on the south pole of the moon. This was a significant achievement for both India and the world.
But why is the West so bitter? Why are they busy hatching conspiracy theories and questioning India's moon landing?
    Palki Sharma tells you.

Here we go again. Media spreading morbid negativity and hate. Generalizing millions of (the west) good people based on one or two opinions. Bill Nelson, the NASAs President, congratulated India personally on this achievement. The UK Space Agency quoted: "History made! Congratulations to ISRO". Josef Aschbacher, the director general of the European Space Agency, described the landing of Chandrayaan-3 as an “incredible” event. Almost every american news outlet reported about the landing and described it as a significant achivement. Why did you not report on that? Shouldnt you be obligated as a journalist to produce a balanced report?

As an African, I love how Palki puts these "arrogant outdated supremacists" in check everytime someone different achieves great things. India is a great country, with great civilizations, creative intellectuals. If you don't believe what I said, research who runs the big Techs or the UK, or even Ireland. One of my favorire college history professors once told me "Never let someone tell your history for you".

Thank you to our friend from Africa....you are learned man, a man of wisdom & high intelligence....thank you for your kind words of praise for India....
However, over the next 5 yrs, we'll be hearing more & more about Africa's rapid development....with its abundance of natural resources ( minerals, metals etc ), fdi in manufacturing , agri industry , tourism etc will pour in on a huge scale, especially from USA & this will be a catalyst for rapid progress....with relatively low wages, Africa would likely become a manufacturing hub for supplies to the Western markets in competition with India....This is the era for India & Africa to rise & shiw to the what they are capable...both should avoid internal & external conflicts.. be united & give a single- minded focus the developmental needs of their respective nations....Africa is now ready for take- off....
Best wishes from India to our great African friends

Hey, the figure of 45 trillion dollars was calculated by a Marxist economist named UTSA Patnaik, using a flawed methodology of compounding the loot taken by the British with a 5% interest rate. This method is inaccurate as the inflation rate in the 1950s was around 3.68%. Additionally, Patnaik arrived at a figure of 9 trillion pounds using this flawed method, which was then converted to dollars by multiplying it with 4.68. You can find these details in her article. Furthermore, Patnaik made an exaggerated claim that the British killed 1.8 billion people in India, which is obviously false. It's puzzling that channels like Vice and Wion omitted her outrageous claim of genocide. Unfortunately, spreading lies and misinformation is not uncommon in India. For instance, some stories claim that the Vikramaditya Empire controlled 40% of the world's land, or that India had airplanes 7000 years ago during the Vedic period. These are clearly baseless claims. There is also a story that Shivakar Talpade invented the airplane 8 years before the Wright Brothers, but that the British stole his idea and gave it to the Wright Brothers. India needs to stop perpetuating such false claims.

What's so inspiring about it? People been doing stuff like that for more than half a century... to do it with today's technology just isn't quite as impressive today as when countries did it before the digital age. Its still cool that india is successfully doing their own space program and its something they should continue to do, but its pretty much a nothing burger, as the kids say these days, when it comes to pushing the envelope and scientific achievement. And what does being a black american assigned male at birth individual matter in the context of india's scientific achievement? Focus on what's important, not what the woke leftists want us to... cause it sounds like they're controlling you

Some group of economists have projected that both the U.S and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2023. A global recession, define as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because china and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

As a Sri Lankan, I cannot be proud enough for our Northern neighbour for their remarkable and unmatched feat of landing on moon's South Pole.. As the astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson explained, the crators on moon's South Pole have been perpetually shadowed from sunlight, thereby increasing the chance of meteorological water surviving in their depths. I sincerely wish Pragyan rover will stumble upon this water, which could be used in future as a rocket fuel to launch spacecrafts from moon into further destinations. The credit of this discovery paving way to an important milsestone in human history will belong first and foremost to India!!q

Really??? So the entire west is questioning India's space program? How do we know this? Because of a single comic in the middle of a random paper that expresses nothing but that one authors view & a couple of angry men, that's how. Talk about desperate, I've never heard of such biased reporting before? How in the hell does anyone take this crap seriously? This is just a beat up and certainly not even close to newsworthy in any way shape or form. I mean this is the saddest reporting I've ever seen, I can't believe anyone with a thinking mind would buy into this? Unless this was already their mindset all along so it doesn't matter if it's true or not. This really is your version of the truth and it's just as ugly if not worse than what your patch work of plucked truths tried to stitch together into a story. 3 stupid people does not mean another 2-3 billion others think the same as they do. I shouldn't even have to post this as it's just so damed obvious. Is this the official Indian anti west hate channel? How sad..

As a black Jamaican living in the States I've been a supporter of Indian foreign policy and politics in the international realm from at least the 1970's. The Kargil War of 1999 was masterfully prosecuted, and I followed and cheered. Chandrayaan-3's successful landing was sheer joy to me-- tears came to my eyes the day before yesterday. But let me take on the roll of lightning rod here... So then, there are all these kinds of Western reactions listed in the vlog (really no surprise to me), and yet the vast majority of Indians here vote Republican. (Yes, I went there!)

I applied the same approach as used in the 45 trillion calculation to the investment done by British before 1850s. The estimate of 200 million pounds sterling as the total investment in infrastructure by the British government in India up to the mid-19th century is based on various historical records and estimates. It's worth noting that there is some degree of uncertainty around this figure due to a lack of comprehensive records from the period. That being said, one source that provides an estimate of the British investment in India's infrastructure is the book "The Economic History of India, 1857-1947" by Tirthankar Roy. According to the book, the British invested around 200 million pounds sterling in Indian infrastructure up to the mid-19th century, including the construction of roads, canals, and railways. Another source that supports this estimate is a report by the Indian government's Planning Commission, titled "India's Five Year Plans: An Overview". The report mentions that the British invested around 200 million pounds sterling in India's infrastructure up to the mid-19th century.Using compound interest formula A = P*(1+r/n)^(nt) putting
A= 0.2 billion pound, n = once per year (conservative!) and 0.05 interest (as per the India calculation and t=223 years
Putting into Microsoft Excel (other spreadsheets are available) tells me that:
10622.914 billion i.e 10 trillion sterling was invested in India which can be converted to dollar by multiplying with 4.68 as done by Patnaik which shows that British invested 46 trillion dollars in India. Now you might have understood how Patnaik lied about it. The way Patnaik calculated it is through a false method.
