    It could be sandfly bites. I got some after the Auckland floods in January and they were the most intensely itchy bites I have ever experienced. My skin was burning. Nothing I put on them helped. It took a good week for them to go down. If you’re still itchy in a couple of days, definitely get someone to look at it.

    Oh yeah I have a greenhouse cabinet like that too! (Pest haven). So basically I bought a milsbo wide greenhouse cabinet second hand and it came with a built in moss wall to the back and for whatever reason all the predatory mites just love it in there. I replenish them every couple of months just out of habit, but any plant I put in there, even if I no longer have any beneficial sachets or haven't had them for months, they get cured of their pesty problems.
    By the way, maybe try growing a part of that Majestic outside in your living space... that way you could experiment to fi d out which microclimate in you ap it likes best 😎💪

    Problem I've also noticed with having spider mites is that you simply have do clean not just the plants, but any surface the plants were near... I can just imagine that some spidermites wander off onto your shelves or walls or whatnot and as soon as you treat your leaves and set them back, they eventually find their way back to the clean leaves

    Liked this update. So many different interesting plants. I have had that rotting thing with terrariums and think it is the temperature along with the humidity. If the temperature doesn't get to warm than no rot. Of course a fan really helps with the temp. control and rot as well. I finally have been able to grow heart leaf ferns in a terrarium but only if the temp. stays cool. I think ferns like the cooler temps. Still can't seem to grow an eye lash fern however.

    My melanochrisum does the same thing yours does. I've had mine for 9 months, and it's only produced 1 leaf that completely unfurled. There have been 4 or so, that have either rotted or just never unfurled. I think is one of the most beautiful plants, so I'm right there with you. Would love to know how to have it grow successfully. Hang in there.

      @ilikeframboise Před 11 měsíci +1

      I've had mine for about the same time. The leaves keep growing out messed up so I just end up cutting off that vine... BUT recently, I put it in a random location next to a balcony door where it gets pretty low indirect light next to a regal shields and a silver squill... and magically grows it's first normal leaf! It grew a second one and it nearly messed up until I did the wet paper towel trick over the leaf.

    I would definitely see a doctor, there are so many things it could be. Staph, scabies, shingles, etc. My friend and I got staph after laying on astroturf at an outdoor festival. Apparently staph is rampant on astroturf. It started as what looked like a little pimple and then over a few days spread into several “pimples” and then eventually a full blown staph infection within the week.

  • @nathaliebjrkas9781
    @nathaliebjrkas9781 Před 11 měsíci +2

    I would guess scabies. They can be identified by itching, spreading, location and what the rash looks like. They are usually located around hands and rist, around foot, basically anywhere there is warmer on the skin. usually itching more when going to bed, when you wake up in the morning, and after showers. Because thats when the skin is warm. And they look like a small red dot, and thin silver stripes from the dot. I really hope its not that, because its a pain in the f****** butt to get rid of.
    If not, it can just as well be stress. But go to the doctor, dont wait. Good luck ❤
    Btw love your videos, please dont stop 😂🎉❤

    I would just take the lid off of the the Terrarium.
    The fern will be totally Fine without it. And it would look still cool in the Terra growing out of it.
    Mine is growing in room humidity and I just keep it well watered. But if you let it dry out too much it will krisp up, but will grow back when you keep it moist again.

    I’ve developed itchy bumps on my arms recently. I have to put cortisone cream on. I’m assuming it’s related to heat but I don’t know for sure. Hydrocortisone cream helps a lot. I have an appt in nov with a dermatologist.

    Looks like a reaction of some sort, I had something similar i had on my pinky of all places lol It itched like crazy then turned into little blisters that popped and formed little scabs all over my finger. It eventually went away but i think it was caused by contact with someone else sweat through wearing a co-worker's gloves accidentally. You may have brushed someone's arm and their oils and acids didn't agree with yours 😅 idk looks like mine just thought I'd throw that in there i love your videos and I empathize with your pest battles

    I honestly just think your conditions aren't right for the melano for whatever reason 🤷‍♂️ and I can't fathom why lol bc a lot of your non greenhouse plants are doing fine 😅 melano is still a fussy plant though... it doesn't like no drainage if you have a constant water reservoir (unlike Splendid or gigas), but I also just have my large one in pon, on a gigachad lazy pole and care for it the same way you do 🤷‍♂️ if it makes you feel better in any way, it's thanks to your advice that I was able to grow my melano/ Splendid to having almost 60cm long leaves 😅😅

  • @jpgypsyxo
    @jpgypsyxo Před 11 měsíci +1

    I’ve heard that plants actually need that change in temperatures and light to thrive. It’s the same concept as a replicating their natural conditions and we know that the temps drop at night. Apparently in the wild, plants go through other processes at night that benefit their health and growth.
