I was at Southwick both days watching Star practice and I don’t know where you got your information from, but there is no way Anstie was 6 seconds faster.
Exactly dude. Their trainer and Brian were riding the bikes, and Brian was even in Haiden’s gear. I can see Max being fast, he has experience riding gnarly sand tracks, but 6 second a lap my ass. There’s no way. What I’m interested in seeing is, Star brought Max on just in time for Southwick. A track people say is a “weakness” for Haiden (I disagree with that. He wasn’t slow there last year. Every rookie struggles with that track first year.). Assuming Haiden does well this year, Max should place well, and you put him out there to finish between Haiden and Vialle or Hymas. More points gained. Could be some strategy involved with this. I love it! Same goes for the rest of the outdoor season. Safe to assume Max will most likely have some good finishes at the other nationals. That’s just more of a points spread for Haiden/Star.

@@JFB199 in the Deegan video posted today, Brian was in Haiden’s gear riding Haiden’s actual factory bike at Southwick. Swanie was riding Dax’s bike, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he rode Haiden’s as well. Seeing as they were there training and testing trying to get the bike dialed. Cooksey could be basing his information off seeing either Swanie or Brian riding his bike. That’s my assumption.
My uncles cousin works for the wick and he told me Deegs was struggling really bad and anstie was on rails on that star 250. We will see come next Saturday

The amount of hate WSX gets, makes me mad. Folks literally expect a state up series to be top of the line, and have no issues. Which is amazing, because after 50 years, ama supercross and motocross still have issues and do bad screw ups.
I think they'd be way more successful if they focused on rounds in Canada since they have decent arenas/stadiums there. I would say Australia too but they already have a series there.

That was his rookie year, and he wasn’t nearly in the shape he is in now (kid is built like a mini tank now). His technique and race craft have improved significantly this year as well. You don’t come back from 20th or 27th to win and finish second on a track like High Point and only crack the top five at Southwick. I know… different types of tracks, but you’re freaking crazy if you think he only has speed for top five. You must not watch many of his videos, but he rips in the sand now. Nobody is pointing out the fact that 3 of the 5 guys that finished better than a rookie deegan at south wick last year aren’t racing this season(Cooper, Hampshire and Hammaker)? Deegan isn’t finishing out of the top 3 at southwick with this current class. Anstie, regardless of if he’s faster or not, wont have 30 minutes in him. Nobody in the 250s can match deegans stamina atm. I’m calling deegan for the win or at worst 2nd overall to Vialle 👍🏻

There’s no way the kid was struggling. I think Star knows he’s ready to go for the Wick and brought in Max starting at this race as strategy. Max will do well and if Haiden does, it’s just another guy that could potentially be between him and Vialle/Hymas. Honestly, pretty baller move if you ask me, because Max is racing the rest of the nationals.

I thought there was so much more Davey could’ve talked about on the Gypsy Tales podcast. One thing I really wanted him to ask was why not let privateers race 250 two strokes in the 250 class. Also I wanted his opinion on aging out of the lites class. The Glen Helen seems like a mess. The way Davey explained it seems like it’s all GH fault like they didn’t want to be part of the pro motocross tour. Doesn’t make sense
The manufacturers don't want two strokes because they want to "race on Sunday, sell on Monday". The AMA doesn't want privateers because the big names sell more tickets. They discovered this when they started letting RC beat the privateers back in the day. The AMA created "The Goat" to sell more tickets.

Bare in mind Max is actually a MX rider first & foremost, not really a SX rider, hadn’t even gone near SX in probably 10 years, yet he managed to compete at SX at the front & win on that 2nd rate Firepower Honda, plus remember that bike cost him another win when it just stopped when he was leading comfortably.

I’m an ICU nurse in an ICU that was deemed the “Covid ICU” during the peak of the epidemic. Our unit specializes in respiratory and pulmonary issues. I’ve bagged a handful of bodies that got all the vaccines and boosters that still died from Covid. (I still don’t know how I feel about the vaccine and boosters) but I can tell you this it’s all patient specific and a lot depends on other comorbidities. It’s not clean cut and dry as people think.

Just like with anything in the medical field there are variables but there are things that give you better opportunities than others. If you get the flu shot does that mean you won't get the flu? No 🤦♂Does it help many though? Yes.
Just watched "The Deegan's" new video posted today. It features Brian Deegan riding Haiden's Factory 250 around Southwick. I don't know if the team reported the 6 second difference. Or someone who was there watching & was timing and got fooled or mistaken about the true identity of the rider at that time on the #38 (Purple plate & yellow number). 6 seconds seems like a big number. Time will tell.

When you want to learn every inch of the Track ( Southwick). You don't go Mach-Jesus, you ride at 80% and figure out where the shortcuts are, and get a flow. Deegan's laptimes make sense.

It's under the about tab and then MX National. You really aren't missing much. They came down on 1000 tickets and they wanted an additional 1000 more. They disagreed so they walked. I would have done the same thing.
Haiden had worse results at Unadilla, Buds Creek and Unadilla last season than he did at Southwick (which was his first season riding the track). And yes, Anstie is fast in sand, but he didn't beat Herlings at Lommel; Herlings didn't race Lommel the year Max went 1-1 in 2016.

I'm just saying I watched the Gypsy interviews and it proves that the AMA is more concerned with making money than promoting motorcycling, or racing, or developing the next generation of riders and racers, or anything other than filling their pockets. I'll agree with the TMZ comparison but the bigger picture is there's fewer people buying motorcycles than 10, 20 or 30 years ago and it's because of the AMA. It crashed and burned in the 80's because of pressure from California legislators to eliminate two strokes. Then it dug it's own grave by allowing the big factory teams to dominate motocross instead of leaving it to the privateers. Supercross was designed for the factory teams so the privateers could use motocross for rider development. These days you never see a guy who showed up with a bike and a couple of friends dominate a motocross race. If you don't have big time big name money then it's almost impossible to be competitive. The death of privateer racing is the death of the sport. Motocross should be left to the little guys, not the Deegans and other factory names. There was a time when the only 18 wheeler at motocross was RC's factory team which is why kids today refer to him as the goat. Goat my ass...

The average CZcams creator makes $18 per 1000 views of advertising, not likes and subscribers. Supercross was designed to eliminate factory teams from motocross so privateers could win races. Claiming a bike was stupid because privateers can't afford titanium connecting rods. These days claiming a bike in motocross is controversial. Back in the 80's if you paid twice the price for a stock bike with a pipe you were considered an idiot. These days everybody in motocross is using professionally built engines. Privateers can't afford 15K for an engine. Your assertion that races are more popular is completely correct. Motocross is now considered "outdoor" instead of privateer, which reduces the number of people willing to travel cross-country and pay an entry fee. Thank you for your responses.

Surprised you haven't brought up the hypocrisy of MXSports saying its unreasonable for their employees/event staff, riders/teams, or media having to pay to attend the event (when in contract negotiations with Facilities). But MXSports makes teams/riders pay MXSports (not the Facility) to race the event. Seems like only MXSports (and Davey Coombs) is allowed to double dip in the cookie jar.

The #38 vid showed a flashy rider expending a lot of energy and not moving forward, Anstie is a sand veteran so a 6 second lap difference would not be surprising.
Deegan is a racer, not a practicer. He will be fine on race day. I doubt he was pushing it out there and was just trying to figure out a good bike setup for now. I doubt he will win Southwick, he’s just not great in the sand, but he should be fine come race time.

That’s about where I have him. I think he will definitely be better than last year but I don’t see him improving that drastically in the sand to battle with Vialle.
Honestly not even really sure who else is good in the sand besides Vialle. Obviously max, but idk if I see max being up there at race pace his first race on a brand new bike. His starts have been hurting him and I could see him having that same issue trying to figure out this new bike and if he gets stuck with a bad start around 10th or worse, I don’t see him making too many moves.
Haiden might end up getting the holeshot after those horrible starts last race and we all know when he’s up front he is tough to pass, so he might just be able to figure it out and keep on winning. He just needs to make sure he doesn’t override the track and try too hard to win and just make it thru this one twice and not give up many points.
Theres atleast 3 or 4 tracks left that he will be tough to beat or gain many points at after, so as long as he doesn’t screw up bad at SW, he will be looking really good for the title. Top 3 for Haiden in both motos would all but ice the title for him.

Not sure why you think just because Brian took haidens bike out for a few fun laps means that Haiden didn’t ride at all. Haiden even posted clips of him training at Southwick a day or two ago, so he was definitely there riding. Now if anstie was 6 seconds faster, who knows. He may have been, anstie is good in the sand and Haiden has struggled and it’s also just practice so Haiden isn’t going to go all out, but max would just to show star what he can do.

at 6 sec a lap faster, Deegs is the fastest on the 250 so far. so Maxs time at 6 sec a lap faster would be blowing Jetts doors off

I just cant see him being 6 sec per lap slower than Anstie on race day but hey i guess we will see next week will be cool to see how both go really stoked for Anstie to get a factory ride

Do you think the riders and teams should go on a strike? It happens in every major sport, why not ours? So much money coming in yet so little coming out and then they wonder why teams start folding and why bigger sponsors don’t want to come in. Too many greedy people who forgot who the ones are that actually bring in that money and all it would take to negotiate better deals for everyone is for everyone to strike.

Where do you think all the massive revenue from other major stick and ball sports comes from? Just how much money do you think is sitting out there sitting on the table waiting to be thrown at teams and riders?? Where is it coming from?? You should be happy the sport finally has some growth as it was on the decline. There is an extreme resistance to change in the sport that's one reason it lags behind so many others so much. Just look at electric bikes and al the idiotic comments on that by many as an example. When people strike there is a top-level organization (union) representing them. Or a players association as called in the NFL but same thing. The sport has none of that.

Why do yall think its not possible for Anstie to run 6 seconds faster than "the Deegs". Danger boy was running 6 seconds faster at the end of last weekends race. Anstie is in shape, injury free and fast outdoors! So what it was a test. Testing settings and getting more comfortable. They wasn't there to see who was the fastest. It was to be prepared for the race. Social media, man is the death of the USA, everyone's opinion is the gospel. 😂
Did we forget that Southwick is a bike killer? I remember back in the 2 stroke days pro circuit would lower the compression of the motor so I would live. Big deal Max was faster but his chances of motor and clutch failure are higher. Not to mention fuel mileage. I remember seveal guys running out of fuel in past years.
So same could happen to anyone then…..

@@RichardsCranium But with Max riding the Star Yamaha, he should have only a small risk of mechanical problems & certainly running out of fuel, plus being on the same team as Deegan, the risk is the same for both. So yes Max being faster is a big deal.

A guy like Max will have seen it all before, assurances will have been given before he signed & a rider at that level will be able to tell if he’s at a disadvantage.
