    Everyone bitching about the Ecoboost, you seriously need to go drive one. These engines put out an absolutely absurd amount of power and torque, the are so damn fast. With a tune people are running mid 12s in 4x4 Crew Cab F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost.

    • @Weak_juan
      @Weak_juan Před 7 lety +2

      Yes very impressive until it grenades and especially if its tuned. This is why I wouldn't buy a used ecoboost or even a used truck for that matter.

      See heres the deal....I see past all that. (Just like a lot more people are finally starting to do) Looks like someone is still drinking the Kool Aid. Which is just what Furd wants.
      Imagine for a second if they took that considerable amount of R&D and put it into making their V8 more efficient and more powerful. Yep, it'd be pretty darn sweet. Instead they took a misguided means to an end. The EcoBust gets them to the required EPA numbers....

    • @xXBurntBaconXx
      @xXBurntBaconXx Před 7 lety +9

      See here is the thing, I actually work on these trucks (and other trucks) for a living. There is honestly nothing wrong with the Ecoboost. They hold up very well even in the long term. The only people who complain are those online who have never touched it.

      dude, all vehicles should have a turbo, anyone that has ever driven at elevation or through mountains knows how amazing a turbo feels. I dont care if its gas or diesel, it just has to have one. The 5.3 and 5.7 sound good, but they are anemic at elevation.

      But wait a minute they offer simulated engine noise in the raptor. Wouldn't that make you want it more? I mean who really wants to hear the sound of a nice v8 with Magnaflows when your $60k+ truck could sound like the kid's suped up Honda next to you at the stop light.

    That city mpg claim for the 3.5 eco is really absurd. In the suburbs kicking it around with minimal foot I get 14-15 in 2WD. Also, owned the 6 speed and now the 10 and there is no real world difference in mpg "city" or suburbs. You can always find a gear for low rpm on the highway, so you see maybe 1 mpg gain there. Their advertised numbers are truly based on absurd, sterile, unrealistic scenarios.

      ega0117 well I'm not quite sure about 1000hp. Maybe about 500 ish and mid 500 torque is reasonable. But the problem with calling the 5 liter an "EcoBoost" is that the engine is still the same in displacement. Maybe they come out with a 4 liter EcoBoost V8

    I can't believe they didn't talk about the dual injection. Speaking as a mechanical engineer, the fact that ford has gone to dual injection to avoid the carbon build up and issues on valves as well as boost performance; that is the main reason to get these 2018s over an older aluminum bodied model. Not because I can now pick an additional 6 wheel choices. The F150 line really seems to be getting too bloated with options. And too expensive. I also can't believe that anyone actually likes those tacky tailgates on the high end models like the Platinum or King Ranch. Even if I had money burning a hole in my pocket, those tailgates are reason enough to stick with an XLT trim. I also want to say that all the people crying for a Lightening model... what do you need it for?! Throw that 3.5 eco on a regular cab XLT Sport and pick the shortest axle ratio, get a tune running premium gas and I am pretty sure it won't leave you wanting for speed.
