- Although I would consider myself a huge fan of breads and baked items, I don’t eat them or make them quite often. While the average Trinibagonian would find themselves having a sandwich or bake or sada for breakfast, I’m quite content eating a bowl of oats. #strenk
However, coconut bake is one of those things that I enjoy making and eating. As a matter of fact, bread on the whole… I enjoy the process of making bread, kneading dough. Being a typical man who has a problem following the rules, I always find myself winging it when it comes to making bread and bake and as such, they always come out different every single time.

My aunt used to tell me that the fork is used also to get whatever air out that may be trapped inside....looks perfect!

Making some treats for celebration of Jubilee independence. Came here to get the coconut bake recipe. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE EATAHFOOD AND TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉♥️
Thank so much Helen! Happy Independence Day to you as well! Enjoy the coconut bake 😋🥳🥳🥳
I am a West Indian and I always wonder the reason for letting the dough set for 30 minutes after kneading it. We call it 'putting the bread to sponge.' I no longer do that. I skip that part.
Once I became an adult, I simply just mix my dough, knead it for about 15 minutes, let it sit for about 30 minutes, then bake. And it still comes out nice and delicious.
Do you (or anyone else on this thread) know why the bread is 'put to sponge'?
Mhmmmm
Boy you are the best 😘
Thanks! 😊
Sticking the bake with a fork helps to cook the inside evenly
Hey...nice bake but for 1 piece of cheese and the reason for the fork design and also the bake to cook through
Two tbsps of yeast sounds like a lot. Is that the correct amount? Have all my ingredients ready to try it.
That should be 2 tsps 😅
@@eatahfood thanks. Will let you know how it turns out
Please do. Thanks!
It is to prevent pockets from or air sack from getting into the bake.
Most delicious. I am from Paramin to you know, grow up making all these good things.
You sound like Trini
Blessings brother
That thing look booosssss!!!
Fork pattern is to release any air pockets so dough can rise more🤣🤣
👋 Hey you..😄
So I made your *AMAZINGLY TASTY* coconut bakes this Am..
Thank you..
You're most welcome! Glad you enjoyed!
@@eatahfood 🙌
Good morning, list of ingredients says one but in video you’re saying 2, so which one please?
The written recipe is the accurate measurement
Nice.....mmm....hot coconut bake and melted cheese, but hold the pepper ✋
Scrum delicious
You prick it to avoid it from raising too high when bak8ng..
Could you print out the recipe please?
Hi you can find the full recipe here: eatahfoodtt.com/mmhmm/coconut-bake/
Bidawi, you have such beautiful hands hahaha
😂😂😂😂 Why thank you
So is 1 or 2 cups of coconut milk. Video says 2 but written recipe says 1!
Can i use regular coconut oil
.
Hey, can you make a coconut bake using oat flour?😆😆
So the steam would come out
Sure it's just decoration. Lol
Thought it had some science behind it hahha
I thought it was to prevent it from rising too much 🤷♀️
It's actually to allow for the dispersion of heat. Similar to scoring bread. 🤓
I tried this recipe today and it was perfect. Used butter instead of coconut oil and left out the nutmeg. I also replaced one cup of flour with whole-wheat flour. Delish!
1 st to like 1 st view nice
Appreciate it! :)
