For $7500 a month I'm sure as hell not having a broken dishwasher and a toilet sink. TOILET SINK
That's the price to live in NYC. (Unfortunately)
How can u even wash ur face in that?
That’s what I was thinking!
Just think, you can pee in the sink
That's how most toilets are in some Asian countries, like Japan and South Korea.
I know it probably sounds difficult having 5 roommates, but a large city can be so isolating. It sounds nice to come home to people you know have got your back :)
Or people that will steal your stuff, eat your food, or keep you awake having sex
Baby Grinning Soul There's no way they all get a long.
I dont know about that.....I have to deal with my coworkers 8 hours in the day. Coming home I just want to relax and take it slow on my pace, I dont want to be forced talking to someone about my day or putting a front on.
@@michellethebell1441 Don't project; there are plenty of pleasant people in the world who get along!
@@jonguyen100 also, they have their own rooms. they dont have to sit in each other's faces all day. ive gone days without interacting with my roomates. its not that bad.
5 roommates?? Hell no
Tima T Got that right!!!😂😂😂
Hhahahhaha same
I live with 11
I once had 5 roommates. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I like having my own space though and chilling in my underwear
5 roommates is LITERALLY the dumbest shit I've ever had. My 3200 Sq foot house has 5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms. I have 0 roommates, no kids, no wife nagging. ALL MINE~
Literally sounds like one of those House hunters memes "I'm an actress, shoe model, and occasional ballerina and I pay 1200 for rent in Brooklyn" lol impressive
rainepanda I was thinking that! Lol
I was going to comment the exact same thing, thank you 😂😂
rainepanda "I sharpen pencils for a living, my budget is a $1,500,000."
Jennifer Espinoza 😂😂
loooool right on point
An introverts nightmare living with 5 other people!
Ci Silver Completely agree. I would honestly probably kill myself.
Agreed
Ci Silver yeh Idc how much money I’m saving nothing can make me live with 5 roommates
Yesssssssss!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I've worked 2 jobs (while in school full-time) to keep from having roommates.
Im an introvert and I live with people and its actually the best because you don't get lonely but don't have to leave your house to meet people
I know that toilet-sink hybrids aren't uncommon, but am I the only one grossed out about the proximity of the toothbrushes next to the toilet seat?
Jessica Exactly!!! Get them off of there!! 😩😩😩
That grossed me out honestly. 🤮
I’m more grossed out at what looks like mold or mildew at the bottom of that toothbrush holder.
I first saw that type of toilet in Japan, you wash your hands with the water and it then goes to the toilet tank.
Jen Tuesday not mold or mildew, it’s part of the two toned pottery glaze 🤗
However, poop particles can go airborne during a flush and that can create a landing pad out of toothbrushes 😬
I feel like I didn't get a full view of what the house looked like this time.
Ojaswi Sharma there were probably people there. Most of the time the episodes has the person living alone or a couple so we can see the entire place
its harder to show a spiral duplex which i am assuming what that one is since its common for williamsburg
maybe other roommates wanted things private....too many people in that home
Ethnically diverse cast of FRIENDS! I love it
Awkwar d yes it's much more exciting than the plain white bread cast. Lol jk
Michael VR awkward
Michael VR What
black gay antifa you generally tend to have friends similar to you unless you are forced to mingle with people you aren’t interested in. I am glad there’s no brown person “representing” me on the show. That would be too weird
black gay antifa yeah!! Let’s just assume everyone is a racist for not having a token black friend!
That's cool how they all get along so well & enjoy each others company!
April Martinez yeah, she's lucky. When I lived with 4 other people, most were guys who never cleaned and the landlord was so lazy to fix the plumbing problems, we all left by 11 months later. One of the most important things when moving into a place with other people is how well you'll get along and respect them.
April Martinez who doesn't like a person with a non essential shoe collection, when someone has no money to eat?
+aprilmartinez It's so cute!!
right? I dont even like 5 people
1200 and I have to use a TOILET SINK? No, absolutely not. The 5th bedroom was cute !!
C H its not like youre washing your hands in an actual toilet. And it saves on the water bill
Personally, I wasn't as bothered by the sink as I was the fact that she's paying $1,200 to live with five - FIVE - random people.
My range of emotions:
*reads title of video* - holy shit what does she do?!
*hears 5 roommates* - holy shit what is she thinking?!
*finishes video* holy shit I wish I had 5 roommates!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dude, I want 5 roommates now lol
Those toothbrushes are far too close to the toilet's splash zone!
😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 really gross to think about!
These apartments are all cluttered and yep, toothbrushes or makeup kits next to toilet. Who does that??
Being such a devoted introvert, I really do have a lot of respect for people who can thrive in this type of living situation.
I freaking love this series
5 roommates... I'd like to see videos where the title is actually what the person is paying. Like she is living in a $7500 apartment by herself.
Misha Janette I have to say I was kind of annoyed when I first saw this thinking this young girl had a $7500 apartment. 😂
As a dancer, when she said shoe model then occasion dancer I thought, how does a dancer have good looking feet??
Exactly
And how can one be an "occasional" ballerina? Ballet requires commitment. You can't just be on-and-off about it if you're doing it professionally.
@@lsamoa dance differentiates to ballet. There are many jobs within the dance industry, which aren’t as intensive as the title “ballerina”
@@theorca3451 I know that, but that's what she called herself, an "occasional ballerina", which makes no sense.
@@lsamoa she probably doesn’t realise that ballerina means principle dancer. I think she used it as an umbrella term for maybe commercial dancing?
Im too obsessed with cleanliness and hygiene and sometimes too irritating about it. If I had to live with someone with low hygiene and cleanliness standards id just die of regret and shock. Lol. U need so much patience and tolerance to share your space with ppl. Kudos to these all. Lolzz
Fatma Atma So true! I'm such an introvert that just the thought of coming home to five roommates exhausts me. Lol.
Well, life in nyc has you out and about more often than not. You gotta hustle there and I’m guessing between the group there are at least fifteen jobs:-/
Lmbooo same. I can’t do the roommate situation.
You and I both.
ummm what apartment complex is this? i might have to move here
Luxury Condo in the downtown area.
That’s the southern part of Williamsburg
I had 3 roommates and honestly that was enough for all my life
This felt like it was more about the roommates than it was about the apartment. Like she could have spent more time talking about the space rather than those outdated friends references.
The space seemed to be about 80% bedrooms. It'd be kind of awkward for her to be walking into everyones room, talking about their design choices and whatnot. I feel like they did the best they could without.
IKR. Just tell us who smashed.
I live in westchester for 1050 a month (1 bedroom). 5 minutes from the metro north. Can get to 42th street in 20 minutes.
I remember when Williamsburg had 2 parts. The hood and the Jewish part and highest rent you paid was like 600$ for a 2 bedroom
Sam moore Right?! My mom’s brother, uncle and cousins are in a rent controlled apartment in Williamsburg and were always the only black people in the building because her uncle was the old super. Now Williamsburg is so different and it feels so hipster whenever I visit. Ugh.
I grew up in Williamsburg
The Jewish part
It’s a travesty now.
They have driven the rents sky high. It’s to bad
Debbie Potter it sucks and it used to be very neighborhood, a little secret gem, no one wanted to go to Brooklyn, I’m watching the same thing happen to Astoria right now 😩
Not how I expected this to be!! Gorgeous and surprisingly functional/ spacious
Awe, she truly loves her digs and her roommates .
damn this is a good apartment
When she said 5 roommates I was like “awful” then I realized I grew up with 5 siblings and checked myself. I
wow this space is amazing!
+riaelciario Agreed!!
Yes it is!!!
Thank you to the roommates for allowing us to see your rooms 👊🏾😃 This was great.
+patriciasonia Thanks for watching!!
Yeah Im not going to live with 5 random people when I can get a decent studio for $1300.
Where? Unless you live in a rent stabilized apartment or NYCHA?
My thoughts exactly! For that amount, she could get something by herself, and not have to worry about a large group of strangers.
Not in the are she wants to be. And some people don’t like living alone
A studio in NYC for $1300? You could still find one in Far Rockaway, Brighton Beach, East New York, Brownsville, ... in other words a long way from Manhattan or an area you wouldn’t want to live/die in.
sabbottart Not true I live in Forest Hills literally 30 mins away from the city and I pay $1500 for my 1 bedroom!
You should do Lucie Fink flat because I want to see how much she pays etc
$7500 with a toilet sink? No, thank you.
I cannot tell a lie. I was distracted from the apartment because this felt like watching gentrification 101.
jllsdoe Best comment ever!!
How can you be a "part time" ballerina?
Must be a hobby
@@bbghoul_x Must be indeed. She shouldn't be mentioning it as if it was her job. So weird.
She may have ballerina 🩰 gigs, that pay well.
@@KLB1218 Ballerinas don't freelance, you're either in a company or you're not. It's not like for other dancers.
That’s so awesome I am happy for them. They vibe well together and keep a clean house! God bless them and their successful NYC careers ♥️
Well, this is definitely one of my favorite episodes ..
Cool House and amazing roommates .. love it ..
That’s a lot of money...
Fajer njr not for new york
Williamsburg is an expensive hipster neighborhood. It’s not that bad of a price
but she aint playing alone she had 7 roommates
axeking3440 that’s still an ok price though. I know people that sublet a room in DC for 1,000 that’s so much smaller than that. It barely fits a bed. It’s crazy
Down the drain
Wow. Definitely the best and more affordable place in NYC by far, from this sweet dig series.
I’m disappointed that she allows her self to pay almost 1,500 to live with other people when she could just have her own apartment for that amount
Cielo Quirico it’s Williamsburg
Yea it’s Williamsburg but it’s other spots in nyc that she could of got for her own space. She basically paying for the location
Cielo Quirico
Which is stupidity
She could be putting that towards a home of her own ...
Blah blah blah if you’re in the NYC area Manhattan,Bronx,Harlem,Queens,Brooklyn are all high paying rent,so this is what you’re going paying like it or not sheesh...Stop Debbie downing a persons choice..I’m sure she knows that her rent is a mortgage etc...But people wants to live in the city/if they can afford 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Location location location. She gets to live and feel like she’s expensive on a much smaller budget. For her lifestyle and life season, it makes sense. If she were married with children, her viewpoint might change, but I think she considers the location, the company, and the financial freedom it gives her worth it. 💕
The best serie on youtube!! Thanks
my personal favorite Digs in this season!
Omg. 5 roommates? Kill me
Addie W, 1 roommate is too much !!!
@@ascott2168 Agreed. After being with coworkers for 8 hours I cant even imagine having to (forcefully) engage with MORE people when I'm tired .
@@anthonyt425 yeah I can't but she and others must love being around people 24/7 !!!
@@ascott2168 And that's fine! Everyone's different and I'm glad if it works for her. Like you I prefer to keep to myself. As the rent prices continue to increase this will become the new normal, but I dont want this lifestyle to be forced on to people who would prefer living by themselves you know?
@@anthonyt425 , well some people have this mindset that NYC and L.A. are the only two cities in the U.S. ! But hey..
Love this video ❤️❤️❤️
the toilet sink is actually cool as hell
This feels very worth it. Williamsburg is such a beautiful and lively place!
+akualikewater 100%!!
barely
#gentrification
Eniola Folorunso exactly what I was thinking
akualikewater I saw a nicer apartment in the same area with $950 rooms. That’s a great deal for anyone who’d ever deal with roommates
How can this series just continue to get better with each episode??!!! I know I say this all the time but seriously this is my all time favorite episode!!! The family atmosphere in this beautiful house is so awesome! I love it!!!
+candismadden So glad you're enjoying!
Love this series!!❤
Her? Rachel Green? Yeah RIGHT!
bflower88 exactly. This woman seemed to have as much spark and personality as a three day old cup of black coffee.
@@Phyreflyte SAVAGE
I know! At first, I thought she may be dull and monotone because she was nervous being filmed, but to be an actress she really lacks in charisma.
Loving it as usual!💙
Addicted😍
I'm not paying that much for no damn toilet water to brush my teeth with ect Just no . the landlord is lazy and very unprofessional like who does that
thats not how a toilet sink works. the water that comes out of the sink is the same water you're getting from the main water supply line as everywhere else in the home. You're not getting water that comes out of the toilet tank, how do you think the tank gets filled?
John Q but still why not a regular sink tho
Did you miss the part just before where she showed the bathroom?
@@lsamoa nope I watched it all and honestly bruh I watched this 2 years ago and I'm not about to watch it again 🤣 so .... whatever you trying to get at I don't even care ✌🏽😊
Yay I love sweet digs
she can literally find herself a studio for like 700 dollars more. she'll have more space and her own privacy. like $1.3k just for a room? sis..
Seems strange for a house with 6 rooms to have such a small common living space.
My thoughts exactly. And a crappy dishwasher. These people letting landlords take them for a ride like that. If they left it empty it would drive the price down to where it should be
the kitchen was small also.
She mentioned she found this space through a Facebook group, do you know what group? Hoping to move to Williamsburg as well, and a FB group sounds like a great resource!
Abby gypsy housing! Or nyc sublets :)
Probably gypsy housing
My favourite series! Please do an international version :)
+gtmj Stay tuned!
Yes great idea
awesome idea!
This is the dream! It's literally like friends ahhh
If your in you're 20s yes this actually sounds fun and exciting . Anyone over 30 it might be too many compromises. (Although in NYC its completely normal to have roommates at that age anyway)
I’ve been so obsessed with this series! Been waiting for a new ep
+jayceeweber We upload Sweet Digs every other Sunday!
Refinery29 omg I didn’t know! my Sundays just got a little better!
honestly, this is my dream space
it's so gorgeous
Goal is to move to NY. I love LA but NY just has the amazing vibe. Has anyone else moved from LA to NY and have any tips/advice they can give?
Get ready to be broke
People lost their mind when choosing to live with so many roommates while paying $2500 per months. Absolutely ridiculous.
WOW! You got really lucky, not only with that beautiful place but liking the five people you share with x
I love love these sweet digs videos
Ok wtf this is such s good space esp. considering her personal rent was only $1225 + utilities
My 3200 Sq Foot house has a mortgage payment lower than that.
Lalala123 there are apartment where she can have her own space for the same price
Cielo Quirico that’s what I’m saying lol
Yes It's Me For New York though this is a really good space/really good rent. Obviously in most places asides from New York, this is a lot.
But you probably live in a suburb and she lives in one of the most famous cities in the world...there is no comparison
Its about time. Please don't punish us again!!! 2 weeks is a long time!!!
+justshawnee We upload Sweet Digs every other Sunday! :)
Refinery29 every week would make life better!!!! 😁
omg the end is so adorable! i love this series
+marisdc Thanks for watching!!
Refinery29... I live for this series... ❤️❤️
+danamarie Thanks for always watching!!
They matched outfits at the end 👌🏼
seewendy1 that was probably planned haha but it was cute
The actress , shoe model , occasional ballerina . Jack of all trades master of none !
Margrette M. Wilson forgot yoga teacher!! And that’s probably her only reliable income!
She better stick with the yoga job. There a million just like her in nyc. No way she will be a big actress. Nice to dream though. But I guess it’s fun to say, I live in nyc and I am an actress. Lol. Sure you are. Good luck though
Debbie Potter right?!? I lived there, PAST TENSE, I wasn’t there to be an actress but my cousin could be this very girl and after graduating top of her class at a prestigious performing arts college she moved there and after nearly a decade she finally found permanent employment as an usher at new world stages...who puts in broadway shows 😬
Oh, the irony, her partner who wanted to work for Cirque in Vegas and not touch NYC with a ten foot pole is a sound designer, he had ZERO difficulty finding a well paying consistent job.
She was full of resentment but ultimately needed his job to keep her ridiculous dream going.
I don’t know at what point give up their dreams?
Child birth may do it, who wants a mom as a roommate or to be a mom with a crowd of people??
Let’s say FORTY.
I’m forty and unless I married one of the shit for brains bankers I dated no way would I go back to being broke there.
Nope!!
Give me the yard and garage and starry skies.
I will day I miss the food delivery and endless people watching, I miss the opera and vibrancy, but I’m all old and pregnant and the thought of schlepping babies around is TERRIFYING, let alone the cost of child rearing in a city that forces you to be a type A competitive nervous wreck!
My family bailed long ago and we are happy in the Midwest, seems like we watch someone take off to live their dream every season and we don’t bet on failure or wish anyone ill will, I can just say that most of them return with five years.
kate carew It would stress me out having to piece my money together to pay rent every month 😬 auditioning, waiting on a shoe model call, is she getting paid for being a Ballerina and what if no one who’s up for yoga class does she still get paid? But I guess it really doesn’t matter as long as she can pay her rent.
This series is amazing 🙌💯
+madelinemaligro Thanks for hanging out!
I get a good feeling from this space, the roommate “family” and the location! So cool!
Ngl this was adorable
if she made her own CZcams channel like, vlogging her daily life andsharing fashion tips/outfits and showed us her favorite beauty and health products I would definitely watch it. If you see this comment girl go for it, extra income on the side :)
+aneglarose Aww! Great suggestion!
Adored this one! 😍
Everyone's hating on the toilet sink, but I think it's a sensible thing to do in a small space! If I was building my own tiny home, I would go for one of those!
I need to know where this is. I’ll pay $1,225 utilities included for that...in Williamsburg!!! Holy moly.
Do Philly Next!
Awesome space and so jelly of having that lovely family to come home to!
All of these Sweet Digs apartments are absolutely stunning! 💕 I’m beyond jealous 💕💕💕
The sink is how they do it in places like Korea - saves a lot of water
hotgiial101 it's cool!
I think Japan has more common practice of those sinks :) I’ve never really seen one in Korea tbh
It saves water if you are using it to wash your hands after a flush. It is supposed to be in a water closet or half bath. It actually wastes water if you use it otherwise such as brushing your teeth or other common uses.
No way in hell am I paying $1,200+ and having to share a washroom and kitchen lol NOPE!
I actually love seeing all the rooms, thanks. I makes it more real some how.
I would love a roommate that cleans. Mine expects me to be his mother, and clean up for him. She’s blessed
Loved hearing about her roommates and their personalities!
I was born and raised in this neighborhood but like many, had to leave because of the unreasonable rent. There are no more families around. Landlords only rent to roomates. Its a shame because we fixed the neighborhood then were 'kicked out'. I saw a post where a man said his neighbor shoots his gun in the air a couple times a month to keep the rent and taxes down lol. You gotta do what you gotta do lol
It’s to bad they have driven the rents up the way they have. I thought it was going to be gorgous. Far from it. And such a small common area for so many. And a crappy dishwasher to boot, seriously.
Ha, clever neighbour. Honestly though, gentrification sucks. Sorry you had to leave your own neigbhourhood. Fuck those landlords.
I'm so in love with the windows in the bedroom upstairs.
this is so cute! I'd love to find something like this when I move to NYC, just a group of cool people that you don't know but become your best friends
Aww! What an amazing setup! So happy they all get along.
What is an “occasional ballerina” lol
a lie
Not bad at all and the outdoor space is EVERYTHING!😍
I love Eugenia's lamp/plant stand!!
The apartment is absolutely amazing but not at the cost of having 5 roommates! I'll stay in my run down studio apartment if it means living by myself.
I can’t deal with that many roommates. Two other people is the max amount of human contact I can deal with within a home environment.
Her outfit is so cute!!
goals !!!!!
I loveeee my sweet digs nyc
they all look like models !!
The toilet sink killed me 😂😂😂❤️
Wow. I lived in Williamsburg at the beginning of 2000, before they built all those full-service condos. You wouldn't have seen many people like her around. LOL.
Can I move in with you ? This is making me reconsider my “no roommate rule”
It sounds nice and glamorized. Until you remember having 5 roommates and getting along with them is a difficult task.
