"Losses like these are just a wake up to the beauty of the ephemeral. A reminder that just because something's time has past, doesn't mean it wasn't beautiful and worth experiencing".
Beautifully said. Thank you for this.
Thanks, Kevin! Glad that part spoke to you!
@@Codacolor I'm with Kevin, certainly earned my sub.
I appreciate that. Thank you!
Pro400H is definitely underrated
Couldn't agree more, Tyler!
Wish it wasn't discontinued
Underrated or discontinued?
I mean isnât it widely regarded as one of the best color film stocks available?
Great commentary about 400h and film photography in general, definitely invokes emotion.
Thank you so much!
Thank you Cody for placing me in this side of photography. 3 or 4 years ago my dad would push me to try film and id mock his words and make fun of him for using such outdated technology but look at me now. Using more rolls than him and taking his cameras. Love your work!
I bet he is happy to see it. Really glad to hear that, Genin. Thank you so much!
Damn the end is so true!! You described perfectly how I feel about film photography, SOUL!
film is not dead!! love your handle by the way
i never see some beautiful videos like this
Got goosebumps watching this. It's beautiful
Thank you, Royston!
I know itâs gonna be a good day when I see an upload from you!
I appreciate you, Leon. Thank you!
RIP. What a beauty
One of the most beautiful I've seen on the internet!
I'm honored!
Amazing shots Cody!
PS, your dance at the end made me giggle! *I thinks thatâs great! đ*
Thanks Pearl! My sister and my cousin needed a cameo!
@@Codacolor oh, hello to your fam! đ
Beautiful video man! I show my last couple rolls of Pro 400H during a trip through Nevada, Arizona and California. I was super happy with the results and super sad that this was the end of the line for my work on this film stock
Thanks, Reimann! Glad to hear you're happy with the images. A good farewell to the stock is the best we can ask for!
Canât believe Iâve only discovered your channel today. Such an amazing video!
Ahh! Welcome aboard! Glad you're here!
Loved this bro. My rolls in the freezer are waiting for special days ahead..
Thank you, Alex. Those days will be special indeed!
Damnnnn that was so incredibly overdramatic. I cried in the end even though I know that the film is alive againđđđ„Č
He should be a Filmregisseur for dramatic moviesđȘđđŒ
I have watched this video atleast 5 times in the last year, perfection - this video got me shooting film.
Just found your channel by a stroke of luck, and let me applaud you on how beautifully you tell a story with your videos. They are so so so well done! Thank you for creating something different than what the rest of film CZcams has to offer :)
I enjoyed how poetic you were towards the end. You'lll be seeing me here more often
One tree hill and glass house mountain!!!
One of the things I loved about Pro 400H is how it handled scenes at night. It really seemed to lean into those cool tones, and in certain instances I thought it somewhat resembled the look produced by a tungsten balanced film. Iâve still got a few rolls of 120 left, but Iâll definitely miss this stock once itâs gone.
A truly elegant and versatile stock. It will need missed!
When I watched this film for the fifth time, I just want to say that you are really great.
I'm honored to receive that. Thank you so much!!
Awesome video. Also, your video on the zone system has greatly improved my photography experience, I refer to that video all the time. Thanks
Really glad to hear that, Lukas. Thank you!
Iâm relatively new to film photography and photography in general but really loving all the content on your channel. Please keep doing what youâre doing!! đ€đ»
Beautiful. Great place to visit all year long
Love the quality of your videos man!
Thanks so much!
Love the new production, keep growing. Love and power to you Cody
Received wholeheartedly. Thank you friend. Love and power right back at you!
dude your videos are always so well put together and it brings me joy to watch them
I appreciate that! It brings me joy to make them for you. Thanks for watching!
So beautifully captured
Thank you!
Capturing the fleeting moments is everything!
Amen!
Your video production is just beautiful to watch. Excited to shoot through a couple rolls of pro400h as I break into medium format film.
These videos are so good, just so good
Thank you!!
This was beautifully done, Cody! I loved the narrative as well and the images you managed to create!
Thank you so much, Nuno!
Favourite channel on CZcams! Always a good day when you drop a new video - they are so inspiring, not just because of the stunning images but also your approach to photography which is so cool and refreshing. Also great to see Kondalilla Falls in another vid!
I'm honored! Thanks so much. I appreciate you!
Your channel emdoies all of my favorite aspects of all the other popular film photo channels on youtube into something thoughtful and beautiful. Even when the videos are more informative or reflective, the video itself is an art peice. Keep going.
So glad to hear that, Devon. Thank you so much!
Beautiful video, Cody! The quote in the end is very powerful. Thank you.
I appreciate that, Viktor. Thank you!
the effort that you put into your videos are amazing the begining shot was amazing i cant figure out how you did it.
Cannot explain how beautiful, life affirming and inspiring your videos are! This video bangs !
That's so lovely of you to say. Thank you so much, Caitlin!
lovely shots!
Thank you!
Chills at that ending. Amazingly done as always brother đ€đ
Thank you brother. Always appreciate your feedback!
So good! Love this video and photos!
Thank you so much!
Getting into film photography, just found your channel, really loving your style and video quality. By the looks of it, you really enjoy and put a lot of effort on making this videos, time will grant you with lots and lots of more followers and fan base (even more by the way) I can really tell, at least you got mine budd, keep it up!
Thank you, Alex! Quality over quantity. I appreciate your optimism. Glad you're here!
itâs never been my favorite film but i am already kind of miss it đ thanks for the video with such a nice vibe photos!
Thanks, Ryan! You and me both.
Dude HOW do you not have more subscribers!? This is the best photography channel I've seen, super artful videos - amazing work :)
I really appreciate that, Donna. Thanks so much! Slowly but surely!
Really loved this Cody. I never personally shot any Pro 400H, and often wish I had come into film photography just a little bit sooner to really shoot a lot of it. This was really enjoyable though, and you made some awesome images. I look forward to the next episode of the Film Fridge!
Thank you, Daniel! If only we had a time machine!
My god, I love your video, itâs so beautiful & elegantly made, definitely looking forward to more! â€ïž Iâll really miss Fuji pro400H too
Thank you so much, Bon! Gone but not forgottten!
Bro, everytime I watch one of your vids it makes me want to go out and shoot... and I love it.
That makes me so happy to hear. Thank you!
Its a darn shame this film stock is gone. I miss those greens.
There's still some remaining stock at a reasonable price if you act now!
Definitely miss this stock in 35mm. Loved this for cooler weather outdoor/nature photography. Fuji Superia 400 overexposed a stop gets you close to this but definitely lacks details in the shadows that 400H would capture.
brilliant
This was the easiest subscription I've ever done.
Nice work Cody
Thanks, Sebastian!
so weird to see one tree hill on the thumbnail đ cut my teeth shooting weddings in Maleny. Nice shots man!
I bet that's a trip! My family resides not far from there. It's truly a treat.
Also, this Canadian needs to travel that coastline before I die!
It's calling your name!
if you want more, i know several shops that still have it in stock in 120
I have never thought of over exposing pro 400h but man it looks really nice.
Iâll go try it with one of the rolls I still have
I'm excited for you, Anthony! You won't be disappointed!
Lovely video, subbed
Thank you so much. Welcome aboard!
You should have 21,000,000 subscribers
Really glad you think so!
beautiful video as always. never gave 400H a try or was affected by it's passing, but i wish i had given it a try
Thanks Chandler. It's not too late to pick up a box on ebay. Prices for 120 are sitting around the normal cost for Portra 400 right now.
first image in Australia, great shot :)
Thank you!! :)
thanks for the history of the film of photo, I all ways had an interest in the photo film so much, that I took a class in this subject in high school, hope that when we cross paths Cody you and I can have a nice talk about it, any way my friend till next time "live free or die trying" your friend from Ontario, Canada ;)
Thanks, Nondis!
Kodak Vision3 200T (5213) is the closest film to Pro 400H in terms of spectra sensitivity. If developed in its native ECN2 chemistry and scanned on a Fuji Frontier scanner, it can give soft and subtle tones with similar color and contrast to Pro 400H. Obviously quite hard to obtain.
I love this, and cant wait for you to build the series! Will you be reviewing the new Cinestill 400D coming out this summer?
Thanks, Andrea! Me neither. And yes, at some point. I want to make sure I get familiar with it and shoot my fair share before I try and make a video about it. Very excited to do so though!
I'd like this video twice if I could.
I'd like your comment twice if I could.
I only shoot Fujicolor 400H Pro. Luckily a big company in my town has bought a lot at Fujicolor last year so they have enough stock for a long time.
Man, I love your videos so much. I know I said this before but watching this from an artist's standpoint while being a little toasty (wink wink) is such a pleasure đ
Haha, happy to hear it dude. I'm sure it only enhances the experience!
LovelyâŠâŠ
Thanks mim
Just picked up some pro 400H for retail price. And I am now very excited to shoot it :)
I'm excited for you!
I really enjoyed this video, was looking for a video that talks about the film so that i can emulate it on my digital camer and thats how i found your channel l, subed and will follow you on instagrams too
Would love a video on Fujifilmâs current two 400 ISO negative films đđž
duly noted đ§âđ»
Epic Video Love the Fuji Greens...I loved shooting with 400H since it feels whats the word? Coziness? Im gonna miss Fuji 400H too Q.Q but at same time we have to keep note that there are companies like Cinestill and Kodak who are trying their best although everything shifted to digital there is a demand thats rising and the result of that is Cinestill 400D, and Kodak Gold 200 (120)...which is unbelievable....if we passionately continue to shoot with film more hopefully Fujifilm will come back sometime like how they brought back the Across version 2....Just keep shooting
Couldn't agree more, Ryo. Thanks so much!
Beautiful. What's the music?
Awesome picture
Which camera do you use for your videos?
Linked in description
Pro 400H has an bias towards Green, which is what I always want in my style of landscape photography but I canât find any other film that pulls it off quite like 400H. I need to acquire mass quantities of frozen 400H, if anyone knows where I can find that please let me know đ€Ł
damn bro. just came across your video. auto subscribe. should have come across sooner tho
Better late than never. Glad you're here!
Believe it or not, here in germany you can still get (fresh) packs, no problem. 5 rolls for 60⏠approx.
That's awesome. Prices on ebay aren't too bad for 120. might pick up a bit more if portra is the same cost.
Pro400H 120 is still available, only 35mm is discontinued.
Hate to be there bearer of bad news but unfortunately you're mistaken. Read the rest of the discontinuation notice.
@@Codacolor Got it. 120s are still available at a reasonable price (for now). Thank you for the beautiful video and photos though.
đ„șđ„șđ„șđđđđ
Guys I'm confused, I can see lots of supply of the Fuji Pro 400H (120) online.
Can someone explain why Fuji discontinued it but there's still a supply? I am writting this comment on June 9th 2022.
By the way, great video Cody. I love your channel
Thanks for your comment. If you look at the Fuji Pro 400H discontinuation notice you can see that it says "Based on recent customer demand, we anticipate that we will be able to allocate PRO 400H 120 film through the end of 2021. The production and sale of PRO 400H 135 will cease immediately, January 14, 2021."
There's still quite a bit of Pro 400H on the market, but Fuji isn't making any more.
@@Codacolor ok, so it would be wise to buy a few packs of Pro 400H before they sell like gold on ebay.
Thanks Cody
part way through but living in canada, fuji films were CHEAP compared to kodak films. Even at the end of life, I was buying 400h for 9.50 a roll CAD.
Same with provia and velvia 50 120. I was recently in new york and I went to a lab called colour house (walked by and bought film) and they were asking 18 dollars for provia 120. So in the states Fujifilms are expensive, Kodak Cheap, and the inverse for Canada.
I don't know if any of it is cheap in the US anymore but I'm glad it's not that way up in Canada!
Losses? I just bought two five roll packs from an online camera store just today.
Savor it while you still can.
Love the video and some great photos and thoughts for sure. Im down to my last 7 rolls of 120 format 400H. Im definitely going to use them when the opportunity presents itself. Im not going to keep them in a freezer for 10 years. They were meant to be shot. Cheers!
I just can't rationalise the fact that film shooters end up converting their negs to digital anyway! I do it myself and then wonder why I didn't save a fortune and shot digital in the first place.
it's all about the t0nEz
I still have a 5 rolls box in my freezer
Gimme one
I'm jelly
