"Coming Home" is a great film, I believe Bruce Dern's performance is one of the best ever committed to film. 5. Warren Beatty in Heaven Can Wait- Beatty does not give the most complicated performance in this film, but it is a properly charming, romantic, and sometimes funny performance. (4/5) 4. Laurence Olivier in The Boys From Brazil- Olivier is in an odd film, and in some ways follow suit with his performance, but still he gives a entertaining performance as well as one with some power when it is required for the part. (4/5) 3. Gary Busey in The Buddy Holly Story- Gary Busey gives an effective performance as Buddy Holly. He brings the appropriate life to his character, without ever forcing a needless impersonation, instead appropriately personifying the character particularly in his scenes where he is performing Holly's songs. (4.5/5) 2. Jon Voight in Coming Home- Voight's performance is a strong one throughout the film showing a slow change over time of his character who slowly finds ways to deal with the pain he has suffered. It is in many ways a low key performance, that realistically portrays the troubles of his character. (5/5) 1. Robert De Niro in The Deer Hunter- Although I think Voight's work is quite strong, for me De Niro stands out as the best of the year with the incredible challenge he in portraying the rather withdrawn character he must portray. De Niro realistically portrays this introverted characterization in subtle fashion, that never fails to bring out the power of any scene in the film that requires it. De Niro simply is great throughout and is absolutely amazing in so many moments such as the Russian Roulette scenes. (5/5)

@Rodycaz No, he's really not. He's totally overrated. John Voight has a much bigger range, so does Dustin Hoffman. The only time Deniro has ever stepped out of his niche bubble of safe character actor roles was for those comedies, like Meet the Fockers. Even then though, he still had that dark, tough guy role and never stepped out of his comfort zone there either.
@Rodycaz Fine, but am I wrong though - when did he ever step out of the tough guy role that was his one and only comfort zone. Deniro was no character actor who could chameleon himself. He had one shtick and he usually did it well, but it was one shtick like Sean Connery and John Wayne.

Ginger Rogers was a GILF
2016BMWi8 are they still alive and Diana Ross?
wow this was awesome, CZcams is great, I never saw this, Ginger Rogers and Diana Ross Damn what a moment, and the list of movies here all great, I'm Biased to The Deer Hunter and Robert De Niro' Great performance but Jon Voight is every bit as Great, next year he followed up with another great performance in The Champ, these Actors make mediocre films good and good films great and in this case these were all great films so they all fall under Must Watch Bucket list for any Fan of all these Actors, was that Farrah next to Jon? and look how young they were, Look at Bruce Dern, man this was a great video
It’s so strange that he went MAGA in these 45 years since this beautiful speech was given! The contrast is bewildering.
love how deniro is NEVER there lol
Kree Mentz45 Yes! And you forgot scumbag.
@Rodycaz Don't forget Rupert Pupkin.

Diana Ross was FINE back then!
Great actor and person. And he knows the truth.
What a sensational and humble speech...
