4k 120fps is insanely demanding, something only a 4090 can sometimes pull off. There’s zero chance that the PS5 Pro will do anything above 4k 60fps and people should not get their hopes up. They’ll need a GPU so powerful which wouldn’t be cost effective and there’s no way the CPU would handle 120fps, since it’ll just be an overclocked version of what the PS5 has, due to how the games are built, it would take a lot longer to optimize and code games for a different CPU.
On more demanding games Forsure but I can get 4k 120+ on a lot of titles on my 4080 S.
4K 120fps is a target who they wanna reach with pssr upscaling its very impossible runs 120fps without him like a 4090🤣

I believe they added the proprietary tech to GOT yesterday though no toggle for 120hz like ratchet or ragnarok, it now appears to be running 50-70 fps in Quality mode

Correct me if I’m wrong. The ps5 capps at 120 frames all resolutions including 1080 p. Which would make a 700 dollar rig better bc it plays those same games at higher resolutions based off the monitor you use. For me it’s about performance and frames. Personally I don’t like having a Capp. Maybe there won’t be one on the pro. As of right now my gaming pc is running dragons dogma 2 at 80 frames where the ps5 I believe is capped at 30. That’s without frame generation and fsr and dlss or intels equivalent.

I have no idea why VRR increases frame rate. It's just a sync technology after all (like Freesync or G-sync).

that's what i thought.... it's variable refresh rate. fsr/dlss/xess gives you frames
Because when you activate VRR the Console is coded to unlock games framerate (doesn´t work on every game, altho you can force it). When you use VRR there is no problem if a game famerate floats from 40 to 79 for example, so that´s why VRR on PS5 basically unlocks the framerate cap.

@@justfun5479 The problem with such mode would be stuttering and inconsistency while playing. It is not cool, just like on PCs when framerate floats from 110 to 70, you notice it and it isn´t pretty. With VRR framerate is synched with monitor refresh rate automatically and it is always smooth.
HDR doesn't work unless your display does 1000 nits. Otherwise you get exactly what you described. I turn off HDR to make SDR videos. The experience isn't anywhere as good as having HDR on, except the tone mapping is correct for the SDR video. Sometimes I forget to turn off HDR to make SDR videos. Looks okay except for noon lighting in the SDR video. I only game on a monitor. It doesn't have filters.
On some games I can really see an improvement ..but maybe like 10% but when I play another game everything looks completely off.. so many times I foundyself re adjusting the settings. At one point I gave up and turned it completely off and realized I'm missing out. But yeah probably I'll see real benefits when I upgrade.
Oh and I just wanna add.. Witcher 3 PS5 version looked horrible with HDR on
@@dailyhubranx unfortunately your next upgrade is likely an OLED and those don't get bright. They get up to 1000 nits but that is at a 2% window. At full screen ABL kicks in and is 200 nits. My PG27UQ doesn't drop in brightness. I'm looking to upgrade to an OLED. Not for the blacks. I'm satisfied with my PG27UQ 384 dimming zones to get the deep blacks. I want an OLED for their pixel response time. I'm willing to put up with less brightness. But I won't put up with ABL. Right now there is no option to turn ABL off. When that option is available is when I'll buy.
@@dailyhubranx I did not replay that on my PS5. Its HDR was weird on my PS4 Slim and my PS4 Pro, w/ black patches on sides of villas. The colors in Toussaint were on drugs. Though HDR looked better on my Xbox One X. That's a really old game. They really had to conserve bandwidth. But HZD and HFW is definitely better with HDR on than off.
HDR is only really noticeable from OLED TVs or QLED TVs with at least 1000+ nits of Brightness. Those Vizio,TCL and Samsung NON QLEDs are horrible at HDR
Yeah.. mine is definitely not QLED..pretty mid if range if you ask me. Looking into QLEDS, 120HZ , I think the PS5 really take advantage of high end tvs

The same was said about the PS5, and it ended up falling out lie, they even had to remove the 8K inscription from the boxes.
It can still output 8k signal. If you connect it to a 8k tv you can play 8k content, exept games. They never advertised 8k gaming though

At this point I just want Sony to finally announce PS5 pro and the launch day. After I've actually seen how the games work on it, then I'll make my decision if I return to Playstation after over 2 decades, or if I'll just start checking for some gaming pc.
Just letting you know that pc is proven and will always work better. And to get a build that would smoke the ps5 it doesn’t take as much money as people make it seem. It’s more expansive yes don’t get me wrong but your paying for much more and much better gaming performance as well as the ability to tweak all your settings and graphical presets.
@@jacobsetser415 There's definitely advantages to pc gaming. I'm trying to leave Xbox after being on the platform since the first Xbox, only my game library is keeping me still on. Situation is this simply because of my long term issue with certain developer studio under Xbox, also my faith in the current strategy of Xbox is very low indeed. My plan is to get the PS5 pro mainly for fighting games like Mortal Kombat for example, Bloodborne is one game I've also always wanted to play, then pc mainly for strategy games so I won't even need any top performance gaming pc to upgrade all the time. I'll probably just keep Xbox as my third option platform if there happens to be some actual exclusive game I really want to play, I think most Xbox games will still eventually go to other platforms in the future. Having 3 platforms to play on isn't the best option overall, but then I have different options for games available.

Omg. Whoever believes pro will run games at 4k/120 fps must check their mental health. Unless it's some outdated game from 2015 there is no way. This false marketing should be illegal. In best case scenario you'll get 4k 60 fps and that's enough.
Hopefully the PlayStation 5 pro adds Dolby vision and hdr 10 plus support for blue rays
I didn't even know about this issue.. I didn't eben know people still use blue rays, but wow..that's an interesting point. But I think this should be possible with a software update on the base PS5 as well.

I got both ps5 and series x, and in comparison to my 4060 and i5 12400f (mid range pc) , they both suck. Especially at ray tracing. I’ve been able to enjoy cyberpunk with RT OVERDRIVE enabled at 70-90 fps with DLSS on. Consoles at the same time run cyberpunk with the lowest RT settings at 30 fps and at dynamic 1080p. With RT settings like on a PS5, I’ve been getting 140-150 frames with DLSS on.
Consoles also suck at competitive games like Warzone, Siege, Finals, XDefiant, and Battlefield 2042. Just to make my point, I been getting around 180-300 fps playing them on PC. At the same time, if Id been playing them on consoles, I woulda been getting 120 fps (and that would have been a best-case scenario, because not all of them have an option to be played at high fps). Talkin’ about finals and BF 2042. These two games can’t even maintain a stable 60 fps. They’re often below the 50 fps line.
HDR is nice to my tv (LG c3) and hgig in some games like forbidden west or death stranding is awesome but games that looks masterpieces in my PC are terrible in ps5 like rdr2 or gr breakpoint..

Its laptop 7800xt mobile gpu with possible cpu bottleneck and only 16gb of shared memory. Its about rtx 3070/4060 level of performance without nvidia features, hope sony get their own "dlss" variation out soon to replace fsr.
I wish.. I have a Laptop that in theory, by numbers should be more powerful than my PS5. In reality doesn't come close to it when it comes to gaming. But good for editing videos though.
@@dailyhubranx Also need to keep in mind that games are scaled to 4k often from 1080p or even below. Newest AAA games are 720-1080p then fsr scaled to 4k displays.Series s is allready doing 400p's. Pc with rx 6700 have very similar performance to ps5. 120fps will be cpu limited most likely. Still games will look good on ps5 pro but i wouldnt compare it to high end pc in overall performance.
Depends..some yes .. but the best optimised not really, especially the first party ones they do start at 1440p 1800p upscaled to 4k and they look great.
