I've done interviews talking how sol has spoken, never got the jobs, on reflection, i thought I deserved it so didn't prepare and thought I could just wing it and get it due to my experience. experience is just letters on a paper. no one hires off a cv often. on reflection I was arrogant and need to take my interviews more seriously like I did when I was out of work.

Sol might be a nice guy, firstly I have heard him being interviewed many times and he comes across as pleading continually for a job anywhere, he sounds tired and fed up with lack of opportunity, lots of ex players want to manage and lots of experienced out of work managers are looking for new clubs also, but just because you were a premiership footballer means nothing.

Surprised by the criticism Sol attracts.... not many players of his ilk have been bothered with low ranking sides but he took two positions where he was on a hiding to nothing and I think showed great courage to do so....I wish the race nonsense was removed all together because it's not race but fair play to Sol ....he is not making it about race.....I hope he gets a chance because I think he has got a lot to offer.... good luck buddy...

@@IWTBF let's be real though there are managers who get jobs based on their name. I don't think thats a bad thing. Gerrard for example, isn't exactly a random footballer. He's captained Liverpool, captained England. Hes clearly a leader. Just his presence in the dressing room players respect that. Im not saying Sol wasn't a leader but he doesn't have the same reputation Gerrard has at both national and worldwide level. Some clubs approach managers without them having to apply. It happens. Look at Spurs and Madrid.

@@IWTBF as above. Based on reputation within the game. Lampard has won it all and been around the best again he appears to a leader like Gerrard. Rooney also won it all. Not sure you got my point. Reputation means alot in football. Lampard didn't exactly start off at a top club either did he? Derby. Then got his chance at Chelsea. Rooney's been put in charge as he was a player and probably best suited. Who knows of he'll remain there.
