  • What made Michael Schumacher so successful? How did he change the sport for good?
Join me as I both celebrate the outstanding success of Schumachers career over a 20 year period which ammounted to 7 world titles, 91 wins and legacy that changed the modern sport as we know it! But what made him so successful, what traits and god given abilities allowed him to achieve the highest success of motorsport!
Here I argue why Schumacher is still regarded as the great of all time and why perhaps a Hamilton despite all his success may fall short of this status.
This video has taken nearly two months to complete which admittedly could've taken less time but I had to watch nearly two decades worth of grand prix highlights to find out where his true brilliance came from! So please if you liked this video, leave a like, a comment, subscribe nd share this with others who you feel may enjoy this content!

Your video claims he swerved into Damon deliberately when the FIA cleared him. Onboard video footage shows this, as well as, car telemetry.
It would also be worthwhile to point out that winning more races from behind isn't as easy as driving in clean air and we saw that recently with Lewis v Alonso.
Finally, it's worth mentioning in any Lewis v Schumacher debate the fact that, Lewis has only ever driven for one engine mfr- Mercedes. He's driving in the least competitive era of F1 even before Honda decided to pull out and when F1 regs have been static for the longest period in their history without any major changes. Compare the latter, to major rule changes aimed solely at blunting Ferrari's advantage, twice in four years, in terms of aero, engine, gear ratios, as well as, qualification formats, refuelling, testing, engine displacement etc and you get a sense of how much Lewis has benefited.
There's simply no comparison. Lewis is definitely one of the best but far from the greatest.
      Cheers!

Once in the paddock after he won the 2004 British F1 GP and again at the Race of Champions at wembley stadium in 2007. He gave me a signed Ferrari drivers cap which I still own. From pit stops to the wheel assembly, to refueling, to the relief valve, the fuel rig, to aerodynamics and downforce, tire design and suspension. Nobody has changed F1 more than Gordon Murray. That’s a documented fact. Racing strategy as it’s used around the world in all series didn’t even exist until Gordon Murray created it. Go research Gordon Murray. Michael Schumacher brought fitness into F1 , and he’s the best wet weather driver ever. And he was always at the limit. Will always be my favorite driver.

The difference between Michael & other greats, is that he drove the team as well as the car... Pulling in talent and uplifting underperforming elements. He showed leadership, not just being the "#1" driver.
Much of Mercedes success is is credited to Michael's development work.
He had a habit of making teams work with and around him to achieve success. Most other top drivers (Hamilton and Senna included... And even Fangio) aimed for the best team with the fastest car. It doesn't detract from what all the other drivers achieved, but IMO is what sets Michael apart --- transforming teams

Schumacher wins this by far. Being a mechanic and being able to speak to the F1 crew about how to gain more speed was unheard of. He drove in times where drivers have not that advanced radio coaching for the youngsters today. He drove with manual a gearbox, went through the tire war between Michelin and Bridgestone, had refueling strategies available. So much more was back than possible to win as a driver.

You captured his highs, lows and most importantly, his spirit brilliantly into this documentary. I remember growing up with him and seeing him clinch that 2000 World Title was just out of this world for me as a Ferrari fan. I am also glad you made the comparison to Lewie Lewie, who I really do consider to be an overrated diva at this point.
It is an eternal shame what happened to him when he went skiing, but luckily we still have the memories. Remember: don't cry because it's over - smile because it happened.
P.S., you forgot to include his technical pole lap in 2012 at Monaco, showing he still had it had it not been for that penalty. Cheers!

He is myb sometimes unpleasant and difficult but atleast he is honest and doesnt pretend. Kimi went through Schumi school. Him and Alonso the last of the oldschool drivers. Both of them have traces of oldschool in them because they both raced Schumi and he projected it on them. 2010 onwards primadonna crew such as Vettel, Hamilton, Rosberg and these new kids started dominating. I like the old school drivers more you can tell they were rly men who were there to win. And even out of the primadonas in this new era Verstappen is the only one that stands out and is showcasing to me the traces of oldschool character other than that the rest are just polished daddy's boys that can drive fast.

yes and Senna was even more dirty and crazy at the same time. It cost him his life. Prost was grilled by saying it out loud.

GOAT don't have to cheat or bully their way to victory. Schumacher was a great driver. He is in no way the GOAT.

In my mind it's very simple, during Schumacher's time competition was very high, during Hamilton's time not at all except for Rosberg and now Verstappen, but the last one has stains on it with the two crashes caused by Mercedes.

For me michael the best of the best,, he did it with every car that absolutely not was the best. And true champion, even senna needed the best car to be a champion McLaren and Williams don't forget that. Schumacher my number 1 for always and Hamilton that's a joke a big shame. Thx to michael and brown

Senna moved to the Williams when Williams was clearly on the down swing. I thought then as I do now Senna made a big mistake going to Williams.
