- We are citizens of the world. A world we call LA.
We speak hundreds of languages:
“So many nations, dialects, and different perspectives represented.”
“LA is so open and embraces so many different types of people.”
We bring our truths, then turn them into something new.
We’re here for the same reasons as those who came before us: to create the world we want to see.
We’re more than a city. We’re a mindset; a movement.
“It’s freedom. You can be the person you want in Los Angeles.”
We already play on the world’s stage. In 2028? When we welcome the Games, we’ll show the world the real LA.

it may be far from now, but boy is the 101 gonna see traffic like it ain't ever seen before
that's why I'm gonna teleport anywhere
Oh god
That’s ok I’ll just take the 405 instead
They were saying this about traffic about the L.A. Olympic Games in 1984. Even back then L.A. has some major traffic back then, but very little during the weeks of the games. I know because I was a volunteer driver during the games driving athletes from the two Olympic dorm villages at UCLA and USC to their competitions all over L.A. I was such a blast and no traffic. Prior to the games some locals planned on leaving L.A. and vacationing elsewhere, lots of tourists stayed away from all of the bad press. Hotel bookings were down. Local amusement parks were uncrowded. After the wonderful opening ceremonies the locals came out in droves to see the games. Everything from soccer to field hockey. Some many of the largest venues for many sporting events filled with lots of spectators for events like archery, la crosse, badminton, handball. Visitors could see some event seats costing as low as $4-$6 dollars. The 84 L.A. games was one of the most successful, profitable and well attended games in the history of the Olympics. The city had no debt from the games and they only needed to build a few sports facilities and just renovate a few others. I'll always remember it fondly as a great thing for the city. Something that made the city and it's residences proud to be Angelenos.
Big facts I’m going take the bus and blame the Olympics for the reason I was late 😂
I’m from Chicago and was sad when we lost the Olympic bid to Rio in 2016, but I’m pumped for LA getting the games! Would love to attend for sure, glad to see the Olympics back in the US
Same, I still to this day look up stuff about the 2016 bid and think of the what ifs
We carry the beautiful city of Chicago on our backs!!!
Me too
I was very happy and I'm from Brazil, it was just a shame I couldn't go because the price was expensive
Hopefully LA keep the homeless on the streets with their trash, diseases, drugs and high crime rates while other countries see how much the US has fallen
Hopefully someone invents flying cars, the traffic is going to be insaaaaane.
LA28 is banking on the invention of flying cars. No joke. #CancelTheOlympics
or, you know, LA Metro could invest in public transit instead of divesting $1.2B #CancelTheOlympics
Apparently the city of LA is going to improve the train system so everyone could take public transport
People forget LA is also hosting part of the 2026 World Cup it brings in more spectators than the Olympics. No less than a few million people.
@@Fenilee And the LA Metro Líne 1 Will crash with Olympic buses, NO.
The americans invented the bullying, instead this #CancelTheOlympics
I will come from India at your country on 2028 Olympic Games to cheer my country Team India .... See you in 7 year.... 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
By then you'll see the US beautiful dirty homeless on the streets with diseases, drugs and trash plus high crime rate
So excited to finally be able to see the Olympics in person 2028!
I’m so excited for this! It’s on my bucket list to attend these games ❤️❤️
Me too 😊😊
Crazy to think I’ll start AND finish college by the time these Olympics take place…well, hopefully I guess 😅
I will, too
I love my city. Los Angeles, you are everything.
I wish our city had similar public transportation to that of New York. More tourists would come from all over the world to see this city since people can’t bring their vehicles overseas and you need a car to go everywhere. LA should become a walkable city
That would require a massive rezoning reform now. 7 years is enough to do a significant amount of change if the zoning allows for it.
My comment was posted 10 months ago but I think there’s a problem with hosting the olympics now. LA decided to expand the metro transit greatly by 2028 to accommodate tourists to watch the games. Our city is only catering to tourists which I think is wrong since people that are low income have been taking slow buses for decades to get anywhere. I also hear stories that the olympics are partnering with Airbnb to displacing renters out of their apartments to make space for tourists to come here. Instead of buildings stadiums and other things that’ll be left unused after the games, we should be building more housing for low income people. LA should’ve had better public transit a long time ago but the voters and people that mainly drive are out of touch with those that have no car they are only taking into consideration the tourists and not the people who have been taking buses forever that can’t afford a car in this expensive city that’s why LA has voted now for better transit
@@ramenlover1727 yeah that and because nimbys won't allow progress
LA will never be a walkable city - it comprised of hundreds of neighborhoods with there own unique Vibe that sprawls from the valley to the bay, It’s perfect the way it is
Preach!!!!
Thank you USA from Finland 🇫🇮❤️🇺🇸 LA28
Fix the homeless problem first
Such a great city that all homeless love it.
Around 0.3% of people are homeless and it is a choice. They are offered aid but do not use it wisely. There are shelters, and those who want use it do but many prefer to live on their own because they have more freedom (substance abuse or avoiding taking anti-psychotic medication, etc.) It's not like they are diverting funds to go toward the Olympics. These people qualify for housing, and food assistance. I've never seen homeless people go hungry and they do not die from starvation or lack or healthcare. They usually die from substance abuse. It's sad but when people refuse help, there's not much that can be done. We spend 20K per year per homeless person so it is definitely not a lack of funding. What do you propose needs to be done to fix what you consider to be the homeless problem? If they are capable of working and jobs are available but they refuse to work, refuse medical assistance, what do you want?
@@rewardilicious "it is a choice" It's not, the only option they get is affordable housing which is still not affordable because they are unemployed.
Standby for mass incarceration.
@Citizen De Watts LAs homeless issues stems from California's retarded housing regulations. It's homeless rate is significantly higher compared to NYC.
Dreading the traffic this will cause and it's 8 years away
It didn’t cause traffic the last time it was here. The city planned it well
It’s probably not gonna be any different than it is now. Lol.
ikr like traffic rn is already horrible :/
@@chaole1000 The amount of cars back in 84 till now is probably by a factor of 3. Freeway infrastructure hasn't changed much to accommodate the increase in population. We need more rail.
Unlike other cities that have hosted the Olympics and fallen into debt, LA has sports venues already in place. Glad to see Metro expanding light rail and subway lines. LAX's $14B renovations were much overdue. I see lots of buildings and new hotels rising in DTLA. The city leads the nation in building apartment units by a fairly large margin as well. I expect Los Angeles to gain a substantial amount of revenue by hosting the Olympics and making future advancements to its infrastructure.
Hopefully they doing like Paris next year. Paris don't build new venues, they using the old ones. As well pop up venues for short time.
@@moniquearnaud8029 It's still going to be a nightmare, LA's Metro system is just way too small. This might be a wake up call and hopefully it leads to more aggressive expansion after the Olympics.
@@moniquearnaud8029 LA isn't building any new venues, they're even having 2 events in OKC as well
Well those venues were mostly built for the Olympics 🤣 why do you think so many infrastructures have been getting built and renovated in the last 7 years?
8 years is long way! From Tokyo to LA it'll never be easier! And so for OBS and Olympic channel! USA lend us the power!!!
I sure love the romanticized ver of LA in this commercial. The homeless, the caravans of RVs, graffiti, traffic and the cesspool not shown here, thats the real LA.
No different from previous hosts like Brazil and UK.

You know, that’s the real world! Every single city on this planet has these bad parts. It’s not just LA
Some places of the city, and the whole county, have been taken over by the homeless...It's a shame, but hey, that's the socio/progressive/leftist agenda, that ruins everything.

LA will never miss an opportunity to cash out. Our officials are trash. Tell Newsom and Garcetti to stop selling to the highest bidder
Hopefully, since we have all the sports venues already made, they can use the budget money to really plan out transportation and clean up. But super excited non the less.

I usually think these kind of promotional videos runs the risk of being aloof and corny, but I have to admit whoever made this video hit it out of the park! Really captures the chaotic beauty and grit of CA, and by proxy the US as a whole. The setting feels more real and not as artificially created.
Now for unenviable task of somehow preventing thousands on thousands of foreigners from simply disappearing into the black-hole that is our transportation infrastructure.
Hopefully they will consider the band Foster The People to play at the opening ceremony or at least have their music playing in the background since they are originally from Los Angeles. 🥹

Having famous individuals design this changing multi-look logo only reminds people that L.A. has the most celebrities and the most rich people in the world. It doesn't scream that L.A. is a diverse American city. Please come up with a new logo, a real Olympic logo.
Coming from someone already living in the US this is one I’m definitely hoping to go to.
I’ve never seen the Summer Olympics in the US (I was only a year old when the 1996 Atlanta Olympics happened) and I always wanted to see them in person .

I don’t know much about LA outside of Hollywood and Disneyland. Is the population majority black like in the advertisement? Or is that the black population is underrepresented most of the time and this is a chance to show the amount of talent the community has?
just researched it. It’s nearly 50% Hispanic, 28% white and 11% Asian so I imagine this is for representation of being overlooked a lot of the time.
Those percentages look wrong. When i went to California there wasn’t THAT many latinos. It should be 60% white/caucasian, 18% hispanic, 12% black, 8% asian, and 2% other. This is based on the government website.
And no there isn’t that many black people. Nowadays, they’re trying to include many black people on their advertisements to show their support. Way more now than before.
