Robots is scripted. The same as the two narrators, no difference for me, I think that robots are more trusted, because you know that you're not being tricked, like you are being now
I wish that the game sold well and the developers released the second part with a big city, for example, with Prague and the surrounding villages, forests. I really like working with the terrain, and the forest is fantastic, just relaxing when exploring the world. Good sales and look forward to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Greetings from Russia.

Carlos Diniz who cares. For one this is the first game the devs have made and two this game has alot of hype around it. All the gameplay is kinda old since its all from the beta thats almost a year old and they dont update betas.

Yes, an arrow trace is a bit weird... I think the delay is to long, even when enemy falls down, the trace is still visible.

I think they already talked about it. It's there to make you learn how to shoot a bow and it will disappear later on.

It not that slow it was faster at one point but it was unplayable when they sped up the combat. Knight Squire did a video were showed why you need to slow down combat and why you also need to give tells and this is one of the reason the combat is first person.

That was probably on purpose, so you get close enough for his ally to ambush you. I do think the Combat System looks a bit weightless though.

LeonserGT well like the other guy said it was a trap. Other people have played this beta mission (its like a year old) and when they try to sneak in heavy armor the guys will notice them pretty easily

First time in a LONG while that I can say this about KCD: Looking great! That *glorious* global illumination. Also, I love how the light glimmers off of leaves and spruce needles.
Even the ever-so-horrid motion blur and CZcams's low video quailty do not manage to deter me from enjoying the sights.
I can’t honestly wait for this game everything I see about it makes me want it more, the game play looks brilliant and the combat looks like even though it’ll need a lot of practice it looks rewarding just from killing one guy. Where most games see you killing 10000 without breaking a sweat this one seems like it’ll make you yell to your friends about how proud you are from killing one normal guy lol. I love everything that I’ve seen from it so far keep it up. Also I love these two lol 😂

The gameplay gets better every time. As mentioned by others though, I am a little concerned with the optimisation. As someone planning on doing a let's play on the game, I don't want to have to crank down the settings to make it run at 60fps smoothly when I can play perfectly well on max settings in other modern games. All that aside, this game does look epic and I can't wait for it to be released.

Will it be possible to change the dialogues in a way so that it remains in first person? Also I'd love the ability to turn off the combat slowmo and the arrow trails.
Actually I dont have an issue with the slow mo itself, it's the sound effect that really doesnt fit with the game.
FenriS there are definitely gonna be some mods for your needs
FenriS its supposed to be as realistic as possible. In real life swords dont make shiiing noises and what not. Btw it isnt in slow mo they just had to dumb the game down a bit because even a game that is trying to be as real as this realises that it would be very difficult to play this game if it wasnt a bit dumb down. For example trained soldiers attack very fast and without motion. You never want to tip your enemy off to what you're gunna do so you would move fast and not draw back. So in short they dumbed it down but when you play the game it feels way different and it flows well. Also this mission is from the beta which was realised almost a year ago so they probably made some improvements

Nicest and most believable environment I have ever seen! I really hope there will be an assignable button to show/hide the hud. I would love to play this as much as possible with nothing cluttering the view.
Every time I look at that forest it looks like real footage, incredibly immersive.
I have to say I was very worried but this video was a great way to show off new features and drastic improvements. Great work guys!

Oh yeah trust me i know. I have supported this game since it first was available TO support. But at some point, you have to think that not EVERYTHING has to be realistic. for instance SOUND design, realistically sure its great, but it doesn't add the extra layer of immersion if it all sounds so... bad and makes you feel that you hit a fucking sack.

Greetings Warhorse may i ask if that fight at 2:28 was of your "taste"? What happened to the gameplay in the last months of developemnt? Was that a saber lasser sword? Now for real, it seems the combat has become too fast (if you compare beta gameplay with this one you can see that before the skills where much more important*, now you have that green shield and the slow motion breks the flow of the fight also it seems the armour doesnt affect so much) , i mean when i face up a full plate armoured knight i wanna feel it as if i was in a boss fight. That way i must to use some combos to bring him down and end him while his is on the floor stabbing him with that finishing animation or use a hevier weapon such a mace.
Now what i ask you for is: Is still the gameplay "hardcore"/ realistic in therms of armour and weapon physics. Although i supouse with dificulty optioms will be solved.q1 Things like blood splashing around were things you refuse to do (i think), but this shows different.
Apart from all this crticism, i want to say you that in some way you guys have made a game that a lot of people were waiting for. The huge ammoumt of love you have pitted on the game no one can denied, thats because i trust on these game. And lastly but not less important: What abalut showing us the polearms. Do they have especific animations?

+DOL Sotomonte The combat was never necessarily 'realistic' in relation to armour. It does seem the goal is to make combat encounters shorter to appease the complainers worrying that it took 'too many hits' to kill enemies. A real shame I agree. In general weapons look to be more powerful against everything and I think it might be because of incompetence (a lack of understanding.) by the development team or perhaps to fall more inline with what the casual mainstream audience has become accustomed to with hollywood movies...that when you're hit with a sword you magically fall down.
The sound effects during combat really lack some oompf.

+Grobzoula While the sounds aren't totally realistic I think you'd find the real sounds quite dissatisfying. I could point you towards Buhurt videos (like those on Medieval combat TV's channel.) but you can hear the thing for yourself in real life. Pick up a metal pot...and bang it with a metal object, that annoying clapping sound is what you'd be hearing a lot of in reality. Very noisey, very hilarious.
It looks really beautiful. But please, please make sneaking not as easy as that. You can literally stand in front of a soldier and he would not notice you.
i dont agree they did the sneaking at night with a lot of rain to cover their sounds and also sneaking has a disadvantage so you cant wear any armor if you dont want to make noise
We don't know what he wore and to add, he had some sneaking skill bonus in rain. It did not look as bad as Skyrim. I hope it won't ever be.
They used dev cheats to give him maximum stats and skills (check 11:34) for a mission which occurs only halfway through, that's why he's ludicrously good at everything.
I think, it will be one of the best games in 2018.

In Britain, the term "knobhead" is actually pretty common.
Can't believe I've been following the development Kingdom come Deliverance since it's inception on kickstarter in 2014. Each update video over the years always showed great improvement in each aspect of the game. Now, finally, with only a few months left in development I feel my excitement is too much to contain. I hope this game will put Warhorse Studios in the developer hall of fame along with CD Projekt Red and Bethesda. Thanks for bringing a breath of fresh air to the table. You've done a fantastic job.

I kind of doubt that all bandits are trained in classic medieval fighting styles and I don’t feel like the combat has any weight, it looks more like extreme larping. Still the game looks good and I’m quite interested in it
Thomas Wightman it's safe to assume that not all bandits were trained but many likely were as bandits were often deserters from armies. I agree about the weightless combat but at least it isn't the swish sound sword fights make in the witcher
The fighting style was chosen to represent the combat of the time while also taking into account a players slower reaction time relative to a combatant of this time, the combat therefore, has been slowed down

Right... I'm czech so maybe I do not understand what are you trying to say, but i think that your complaint is that the bandits are too god in swordsmanship. :) I hope I'm right. :P
And you are right... the fight in those days wasn't that perfect as you can see in this game, and bandits were propably just trying to swing their swords... But as far as I know, the Hungarians weren't just bandits, yes, they pillaged and plundered Czech lands (If hungarian person is reading this... I do not want to ofend you :D, it is medieval times you know, no-one was good, there is no anger between czechs and hungarians :P), but they were an army led by Sigismund (or Zikmund in czech) so they were profesional soldiers, maybe even knights. :)

+Thomas Wightman Most of the characters in the video are doing very basic cutting motions you'd see from anyone, were you expecting them to pulverize each other with the flat? There's actually very little 'classic medieval fighting' in the game, although it's been tweaked heavily the combat was made in conjunction with stage fencers.

little shits? No face expressions at 2:57 Sound of battle sounds like kids with sticks or plastic bottles, fight looks terrible - animations of swings swords, of getting hit, death animations... Fight is really really slow... One hit per 5s. So good so realistic... Maybe it is realistic but surely boring.
Realistic doesnt mean it will be fun...and its sad.
+Lukas Oplt Watch some PLWR footage on 'medieval combat tv'. Fighting with steel honest to god sounds like kids playing with metal pans. The only other criticism you specifically made was objectively wrong "One hit per 5s". The 'speed' you see in the video is a reflection of player and AI choice rather than a game limitation, they are choosing to only attack once at a time. In-game you can keep chaining attacks together in rapid succession until you're out of stamina if you like (look at people playing the beta, you'll see plenty mashing the buttons.). If you choose to play this game you can do the same thing if you like, just mash the right mouse button and your character will attack more quickly than a lot of other sword games.
Ok, I didnt know fight speed depends on player, but if I will smash buttons like Mortal Kombat will enemy react faster? And you forgot about "no face expressions" :)
_Lukas Oplt For the most part if you just spam attack you will be blocked, if you spam attacks while changing angles or distances you'll land a lot more. It's also normal for the enemy to pick off or counter the first attack, another issue with spamming attacks is managing distance...every time you attack unless you manually stop it your characters jumps forward. After a few attacks you'll be 'too close' and you and the enemy get stuck in grappling animation.
The real thing slowing combat down is the stamina system, you can only throw a few attacks in a row before being completely out of stamina (which IMO is awful.)
They did not want people to button mash also you can improve your stamina over time.
Enjoyed the video, massive improvements to the visual presentation of this game even since your last update. I have yo say I don't pity your position in making this game, many different crowds looking at this game with different wants. That said I am disappointed that bows have been turned into laser blasters and that swords now seem to act more like Lightsabres than steel. Also not entirely happy to see the generic hollywood treatment for armoured men (too heavy to even jump.), it was especially ridiculous in this video when it was suggested Henry would be significantly more agile despite wearing roughly the same amount of steel as his enemy.
I can see why the team has made the decisions they've made, why arrows now leave trails, why daggers can insta-kill a fully armoured man. As I said earlier your position is a tough one, there's plenty more people who want lightsabre swords and 'medieval tanks' than people like me looking at this game. Despite what I've said this video didn't deter me, in fact I'm even more excited for the game seeing (and it was already the game I was looking forward to most.) the many improvements the team has made.
7dayspking i dont see swords acting as lightsabers in this video. I try to be more enthusiastic and calm towards to this game eventhough its going downhill gameplay wise. Big sieges with castle destruction just like what is said in the older videos? Heck this game is struggling for stable framerates in normal areas, i can't see physics being applied on castles and bigger buildings. How about choosing your own path and creating your own character? Nope, stuck with a character with one motive. I even saw some hollywood style fighting in this video. I really don't want to shit on this game, i still love it and will support them but i just can't ignore these. Im still hoping for it to be magically more stable and smoother atleast in combat. I guess i can not really blame them, they are good developers, they are getting only small support

As for swords acting like Lightsabres check these timestamps. 2:19 character instantly killed through his armour because the point touched his belly, at 13:35 you'll see multiple characters instantly killed in 1 or 2 hits with the sword.
Kingdom Come has always had a set character. I'm also not too worried about framerate personally because I've never owned a decent gaming machine, the only games I've ever had 60 fps on are on the Xbox One and I've yet to play one game that has a consistent 60fps on any device. As for the large siege seen in their first pitch, I don't think it was ever alluded to that you were seeing 'real time' physics during a dynamic siege. It's been suggested from the start that large battles would be a one off story affair....in this context it would make sense to break the castle in cutscenes or as triggered events with animations. (I have no idea how they're actually going to handle this.)
+deus vult Animated destruction doesn't always look right either unless there are a large number of animations created to simulate a wide variety of possible situations. The broken pieces themselves almost require physics as well. Actually in Fallout 4 almost every quest has more than two solutions...and that's excluding quest failure or instant completion. Now these different paths aren't always spectacularly lengthy scripted branching linear paths like TW3 always triggered by branching dialogue and often are simple as "help this guy or that guy, help neither" more like a traditional tabletop roleplaying game.
Technically all of the fighting is 'hollywood', much of the combat system was created in conjunction with and motion captured by and with the help of a European stage fencing team, to be fair though you could fight with a sword as the characters do in the game...in that aspect it's better than just about any other game ever released.
How 'fast' should the animations be, as a game what are they slow compared to? I keep reading of casual video game fans complain the animations are slow (who have no interest in fencing even.) and I'm yet to find one point to a game that's faster. It seems to be the same crowd who believes Geralt in TW3 strikes faster than characters can with any weapon on Dark souls (which I've shown to be objectively false.). I think their complaints stem from two things, that in most videos of the game the characters are throwing one strike at a time instead of spamming combinations like a typical video game. The other being that Kingdom Come's animations don't follow the video game standard of a very lengthy and slow windup that leads into fast smashing or bashing as in other games.
Animations still take less time and with a shorter delay between them than other games I've seen compared to KC:D...and most other combat games outside of your fighters or Devil may Cry Clones.

So you 2 are saying that the destruction for the castles would be very similar to cod or battlefield where certain actions trigger a cutscene which would be for the animated destruction? I think i can get along with that, it's not that bad

I really appreciate studios that put their game on full display months before they expect you to pay a thing. There are games from E3 that still haven't shown off any gameplay. You guys are showong us real gameplay, and I really appreciate that. Whatever problems we might see, it's candid.
As a fellow developer, I'm sure war horse studio loves reading comments as I do. But with 2 months before release, this game is more than likely complete. So if you don't want or appreciate what this title has shown then shhh and let the true fans of this style of game praise them so they can create more content. Congrats war horse, I look forward to experience this masterpiece.
gamekingstudios i think if this game does good it will become a series like the elder scrolls. But this id from the beta which is a year old. The game has definitely improved since the time this gameplay was actually out. Btw they dont update the beta

If I am not mistaken, you can join (If they don't refuse you and try to kill you) the bandits and convince them to atack that other army.
They showed it other video video if you are not wearing armor guards will let you pass if you are wearing armor guards will have their hands on their swords. However, if you dress like a Cuman they will have their sword out and walking to you.
this game is so immersive and beautiful looking. i actually felt like they would really ride through actual woods, being in the real world. its amazing, im so in love with this game, from the very beginning on kickstarter.

Adnan Ahmed I told this to another guy, but the reason the combat is slower than traditional medieval combat is to tailor to a players far slower reaction time relative to a trained knight, they had to create a balance between history and making a good game. They talk about it in a video but I can’t remember which one, it might be the combat video though

To some extent, yes. The main problem we had to solve was that in a real fight you want to make the smallest moves possible. You want to conserve your energy, and also you need to hide your intentions from your enemy. In a game you want quite the opposite: if a player should block the strike, the strike must be obvious. So for this, we made all animation slightly bigger with larger swipes that a real professional would actually try to avoid. We compensated it a bit with speed: the strike begins slowly, and you as a player has a time window to react, but then the attack is fast and devastating, and animation can be nice and very realistic at the end.
Aside from realistic and first-person part, I’d pinpoint the technical background. We’ve developed a special physics engine with solvers that assure that swords actually physically collide. It means that when you strike someone, and he parries, he will really strike your sword and physically move it away. When you hit someone, the sword will slide along the armor or body, if you are standing near a wall and an enemy tries to hit you, he may actually clash to the wall, and it makes his attack much weaker, etc.
7dayspking It is Slow compared to how fast a knight would be in the era and how fast trained professionals are today, but the devs made sacrifices on historical fighting to improve gameplay, which was a very good decision on their part

It looks better than in the last video but there are some things that are putting me off. The combat looks clunky and the lock on looks like it's going to suck just from watching. Also there is something off about the sound levels. And the one sound used for every single sword/weapon hit. The performance looks questionable as well.
nomercy8989 Those things along with the shitty fire effects, and some others are probably going to be fixed, but the combat, we can't be sure. Also hoping they would make stealth attacks more realistic and brutal, something so simple like stabbing the enemy 2 or 3 times, and mercy killing someone in plate armor with a sword easily that looks like a fork picking a meat bothers me a lot, maybe instead stabbing with a sword, how about a dagger?
What's wrong with the sound? I absolutely love it, it's perfect, nature sounds, weather effects, animals and bird sounds, good switching of combat and exploring music. The only points u said that still is in need of optimizing is the combat and perfomance in my opinion.

The sound is weaker here because they put the commentary audio over it. Any lets play or video with commentary will have the commentary louder than the source. Watch a video with no voiceover and it sounds a lot better.
On the topic of performance, it runs terribly on my SLI'd 1070s and i7 core computer, so I'm hoping they'll fix that at launch...
