  • Continuing our look at Amiga Game Selector 2.5.
    We look at how to setup AGS on the A500 Mini and retro console that originally gives you 25 classic Amiga games but we will be increase that number into the 1000's
    You need a empty 32gb+ USB memory stick. Formatted FAT32.
    No additional kickstart roms are required as they are already licenced on the A500 mini.
    A500 mini pandory allow you to go into Workbench and get even more performace out of your A500 Mini.

    So as stated previously it worked perfectly. I originally had Pandory installed on the drive. Out of curiosity I replaced (after making a backup) the Pandory folder from the previous install onto the pandory folder created by AGS which worked. Now have both AGS 2.51 installed along with my previousl Pandory installation and the config and roms from that previous install.

      Will be looking at that setup soon. The bonus is you have a fully working keyboard so more like an Amiga computer rather than a CD32 console which The A500 mini can be seen as.

    Will definitely give this a go. I have had mixed results with Amiga games on stock Pandory. I.E. Can not get Warlords to run on it. So I am assuming the Kickstart roms are inplace.

    That's really cool! For me is AGS the best and easiest collection out there.
    Better as ClassicWB or similar systems(which I also like).
    Is there something similar available for c64?
    A pre-configured collection of games easy to use?

    Ive recently got AGS on my mini and works great however through the Amiberry settings im trying to see if i can get the USB Competition Pro Joystick working as I wondered whats the prefered button config as im struggling to set a button for the Virtual Keyboard to appear or disappear as i cant do much other than set one of the fire buttons up. Any chance of a video in future for this?

    So I already have the pandory and a500 folders. Do I just need to drag over the AGS folder or do I need them all?

    Hi Mike,
    I found that it might not be possible to copy autorun.inf prom extracted the extracted downloaded file to usb. But I have found a simple workaround. 1) open autorun. Inf file in notepad 2) save a txt file 3) copy txt file to usb and 4) rename back to .inf file. I found this will work

    Hi Mike,
    I have tried tried many times to download the Amiga AGS and have used Rufus 4.4p as suggested. I think most files copy to the brand new ScanDisk 32gb usb 2 & 32gb usb 3 neither will allow me to copy auto run.inf file. I have done everything I could find online, but nothing stops the error message that I have to have permission on folder.. and I have tried to run ags , using Windows 10, but nothing works on my A500 mini, can you suggest any help?…thanks

    What could be the reason that after starting AGS and Pandory, only the Workbench floppy disk logo appears? Does it require an update after Amiga 500 1.2.1?

    • @DaOchi85
      @DaOchi85 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Supposed error found. So, my AGS2 also comes from well-known sources. I'm not saying it's incorrectly packed. I've tried it 6 times. It was always the same. Now I've copied all files from the backup.lha and overwritten them with the others, and behold, now it works.

      Good call. Antman, i used 3amp power supply. It did go to a black screen once when i tried loading it up as i mention in the video and just tried it again and it worked.

    • @Antman2019
      @Antman2019 Před 4 měsíci +1

      FIXED. Have had similar problems and also glitches when using AGS. Firstly DO NOT press the menu button in the usb screen, this seems to mess up the configuration files. If you do then try the restore button or copy over the original config files again. Secondly make sure your A500 mini is getting 2.5 to 3 amp power supply as AGS can be glitchy and cause errors without it. Hope this helps.

    So basically all of everything Amiga extracts to 26GB, I'm not sure if I'm impressed or upset. Probably both.

      @@mariomini haha yeah that was a pretty funny track I didn't know existed. It has made me conclude I am happy all of Amiga fits into 26GB, what a quality 26GB that was and is. Thanks for the nudge 😉
