Once a prima ballerina, always a prima ballerina. Look at the beauty and grace of her hand movements. She continues to have the power to move people with this performance, Brava!!
I was thinking the same!
Absolutely đŻ% agree
What a transformation. She was THERE performing in her mind. She heard every note AND danced every step. Thank you for bringing this beautiful lady back to life!!
I think The human spirit is eternal and without boundaries . Her eyes werenât seeing where she was,
They were seeing where she had been. Thank you for making this incredible video public. It is
A real blessing. Suzanne
it's impossible to not be moved by this
No
@@tevitamanu3335 why no?
I am in tears.
My grandma had Alz, it was extremely difficult for everyone. Seen someones brain literally melting , is heartbreaking
I was the same x I first saw it yesterday morning on GMB x
You're Absolutely right. I know that pain. I've been through it twice the first time with my Great Grandmother Julia and the second time with my Aunt Carolyn it was heart breaking and I felt so helpless
Yeah my grandpa suffers from it... He isn't my dad's father so it doesn't run in my blood but I'm so loving to him when ever I see him.
Force a toi
My mother had Alzheimer, it wa so sad
The transformation is breathtaking. I am so glad she got to experience that before she passed. She is young and beautiful again, and still dancing.
Rest in Beauty, Martha. Now you can dance again in the eternity. đ
She is right there giving that beautiful career performance all over again.
I have worked with people living with Dementia for 40 years in New Zealand. In 1989 we introduced music to people with Alzheimers and the results were amazing. This moving video of this gracefull woman has made me cry. I have always believed in the inner person stays intact within the deterioration of the brain. The above reinforces that my beliefs have been right along since my early nursing years in the early seventies in the Netherlands that people with Dementia need specific care with creative intervention awakening memories. As beautiful as it was to watch her, the tenderness & love of her son was just as beautiful. Such a devastating disease.
'They are very much alive, until their last days.'
Always respect human live! Even if we think it is no longer valuable...
human ones arenât always respectable or valuable or a good thing but nonhuman ones always are and invaluable, even if humans believe to be superior and entitled to everyone&everything
She has the beauty and grace as she did 50 years ago x x x
Lovely how she comes alive with withoutmusic.
My mother was in a rehabilitation center for two weeks. Its awful to hear people screaming for hours at night and nothing is done.
I would see these patients left in wheel chairs, almost falling out of them with employees passing by and not flinching.
People if you have a loved one abandoned, please visit them. It only takes 15 minutes out of your life but it means the world to them.
I am deeply moved and touched by this beautiful and graceful woman, thank you so much. Rest in peace, wonderful and talented woman. đ
This man is a hero. In my view, his work is of the utmost importance and value
I can tell you that, having lost my grandmother to Alz, this is not how Seniors are treated in America. All the hugging....I never saw that happen.
This, this is so precious. Because I LOVE to watch ballet, and I think this lady was a very very great ballerina in her younger days. Itâs so sad to hear that she passed away. Rest In Peace..đ„ș
Itâs so sad to hear that she passed away? You harrrdly knew her!!! Wtf ya talking about
The power of music. Bless her!!!
This is so powerful and I wish I would have had this knowledge to do this for my Great Grandmother Julia. I'm so thankful to watch this it touched me deep.
You might forget but your body always remembers, it's called muscle memory, and as a dancer this is so amazing to see
This was so beautiful and so sad at the same time. đđđđđ
This serves extremely well as something which doctors and caregivers can learn from as a means to provide better emotional care to such people who suffer from Alzheimer's. Once we're able to pinpoint those special moments in a person's life that stay with them permanently, even while the terrible disease eats away at their mental faculties, by providing the right stimulus, it can promote a greater sense of emotional health and happiness for the person. While it's sad to hear of Ms. Gonzalez's passing, it's comforting to know that she's not only now at peace, in a better place, and dancing as she used to, but that this wonderful provision by her caregiver was able to give her some happiness in her last years, so it would not be as tragic or depressing. God bless that gentleman, whomever he was, whether a family member or a caregiver, or both, for providing the beautiful music to entertain her and stimulate the happy memories of her younger years. To the good memory of Marta Gonzalez, may you dance among the angels in the heavens, as you did in life, in peace and joy, forevermore.
The wonderful moments in life are never lost, and this beautiful ballerina gave us a proof .. She taught us how to hold on to the most beautiful memories
Nature is neither loving nor cruel. It simply is. And I think thatâs why itâs so hard for us to understand and accept it.
Beautiful gift to these Elders by the Research Team, thanks for sharing.
I think Spain opened a new form of therapy for âmemory care clientsâ. My grandma was diagnosed w/ Alzheimerâs at age 87 but despite expensive nursing home, she never was out of bed for her last four yrs. itâs like society just gives up on these ppl.
@@flypurplecat4774 Marta is reliving her days as a ballerina
What a amazing lady xxx
This is literally amazing. Still graceful.
Music is the soul of someone's body the wonders it does is immeasurable. Music is close to everyone it's beauty
Moving clip. Marta Cinta, a formar Spanish ballet dancer, died last year in Valencia.
She will be remembered for years thanks to this lovely video.
Every time I watch Marta I cry with happy tears that her heart remembered. I used to do care work and always kept in mind that once they had been young and carefree and to treat them accordingly
One of the most beautiful things Iâve ever seen
I am a disabled R.N. and used to care for people like her....I am crying, and sad, but also so moved...as soon as she heard the music, she for a few moments became her younger self...
The old music brought back her grace and fire. Beautiful.
Sad, but beautiful at the same time. Just amazing, queen!
The music associated with important times or events in our lives can bring back not just the emotions but often the memories. If someone you love has dementia, try to discover what music they listened to and create a personal playlist. An iPod and some headphones has been shown to bring people who were considered in a vegetative state back to speaking, recognizing family members and just generally being in contact with the world. Please also consider making playlists for your older friends and family members, and for yourself, while memories are still largely available so that if they or you develop dementia, you have a longer life of happiness and awareness. It takes some work but itâs an affordable therapy thatâs more effective than some meds costing 1000s, and if âtherapyâ - listening to favourite music - continues throughout the lifetime, the number of years living at home with support is greatly extended. This is wonderful for individuals but also just makes so much economic sense.
Rest in peace and be a graceful angel in heaven we love youâ€ïžâ€ïž
Very touching, breathtaking video, she is now dancing with the her Angels in heaven... precious video to watch
Iâm crying so much rn this is too beautiful for words

my papa had Alzheimers, i remember my mom and i would go to visit him with my mom and grandma and cousin. he couldnât remember my moms or grandmas name, but he remembered his love for strawberry ice creams and would waltz around the room with me or my cousin on his toesđ this brought me back
Praise be, what a beautiful testament to the power of music, a touching, beautiful story, thanks very much, Rest In peace
So beautiful. Sheâs just wonderful â€
Loss for words. So very Beautiful
So powerful . I â€ïžyou guys more than you can know for documenting this. đđđđđđđđđđđđđđđâ€ïžâđ„

Well said
How beautiful
Touchingđą
Utterly heartbreaking. Alzheimerâs is utter hell, for both the person actually diagnosed with it and everyone else who loves them. How incredible that music is so unmistakably linked to emotion, though.
Awwwww sheâs so cute
im crying oh wowđâ€ïž
Very informative, but so sad. We need more education like this of the brain and its functions as it pertains to mental diseases.
This is gonna be me, but jamming to Sublime
100% serious, if I had Alzheimerâs, Iâd probably get emotional to songs like Baby
I am crying đ„șđ„șđ„șâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž

A profound manifestation of the Soul which Alzheimer's cannot touch!

May Marta rest in peace it humbles me very much that she was able to penetrate the "brain fog" of Alzheimers and dive back into times she was young, healthy, beautiful and ever so talented. May she continue to dance in the garden of Jesus's kingdom in heaven.
Thank you Marta C. Gonzales â€â€â€

Look up Marta Garcia to see her dancing swan lake in stage.... beautiful....
Personal opinion. She did not get her memory back as indicated by the title of this upload. The music triggered her brain to command her body to move according to the memory of her dance routine. The dance routine was stored in her brain neurons and was not erased by the disease.
We have a friend in our dance community diagnosed with Alzheimer's. But when she hears music and see people dancing in the ballroom, she can follow a dance lead as if she doesn't have dementia. Thatâs the magic and power of music.
I wanted to watch the whole thing grrrrr
Thereâs actually two versions of this video on CZcams. The longer one
The young ballerina's name - Uliana Lopatkina.
This hits different before listening to the caretaker album
This is what my music teacher is talking about

Thank you so much for this. As a retired medical assistant instructor I'm bored. If you ever need help, please reach out. I would love to explore this here in California.

My mother has Alzheimer's. My sister askex the docs to take her all meds away and she has gone from a fu,ctioni,g talking eating person to a person who has stopped eating drinking talking and now hallucinate. They say its the progression of the disease. I would agreee except she started deteriorating AFTER they stopped her meds. Why???
I'm so sorry.I hope you gain some influence in your darling mothers care
She needs her meds! My father had Alzheimers. He got to a point where he would throw his meds out of his mouth after w thought he swallowed them! Found them under his bed all the time. We even tried sneaking them in his food. He died fr it abt 4 years later. Please help your mother.
I'm trying! I'm moving back home. Trying to raise enough to make the trip back. God my heart is breaking! I wake up all night long worrying about her. My sister refuses to give me the doctors name. She's hiding something

May she believe in Christ and be forgiven of her sins and in a few years she'll dance again.... I'll go for that. I want to sing like I could go when I was young. And keep living and singing and enjoying God's creation for some million years... And longer. Shalom to you.
