Seth MacFarlane and Butch Hartman sounds like a cursed combination now days
Yeap a really Big cursed combination
cry about it
@@ghhn4505 huh?
They're polar opposites in political views yet so similar in terms of their career path, looks, and personas. Both seem to have a large ego but Seth is more humble definitely of the two. Also, both created cartoons and do voicework in said cartoons. Seth is the only one of them that's also an actor though. And Seth is more for adult animation and films while Butch usually just does family or kids's animation and some live-action tv shows or movies based on said animation.
Haha I think we all agree there. I do wonder if Seth MacFarlane has had much to do with Family Guy's writing in a long time. Still am not crazy about his work though and Butch is uh. Well yeah lmao
Wow, I can't believe they animated this in front of a live studio audience!
6:50 Oh yeah Cartoons
Very few cartoons are broadcast live. It's a terrible strain on the animators' wrists.
@@hotelmario510 missed the joke.
@@Web720 no u just did
@@Web720 no u did
Fun Fact: Seth actually named the doctor from Family guy (Dr. Hartman) after Butch Hartman bc they're best friends.
I knew that
They even have the same first name, Elmer
Cool!
They honestly look and feel like best friends lol
He originally voice him in the original pilot of family guy
I can actually see this show doing well, too bad it never got off the ground as a series.Because for a pilot it’s not bad. With a great animation style from Butch Hartman and some of Seth Mcfarlenes kid friendly humor,I can see this show doing well. I think what kind of ruins it is the laugh track.
Yep I hate the laugh tracks man
@@andrive gotta know when the joke is you aren't smart enough to understand
I kind of want to see Seth Macfarlane do another kids show.
@@derekpayneszubliminals7723 Me 2.
@@derekpayneszubliminals7723 Look up Larry and Steve.
The fact that you can see both their styles merged, like a love child is tripping me.
Butch doesn't have a style. What you think is "Butch's" style was actually invented by Stephen Silver.
This series could actually work nowadays minus the laugh track of course
And it has that distinct Hanna-Barbera-like charm to it too!
i'm pretty sure the laugh track was edited in by the uploader. it has a different sound quality to the actual audio of the short
@@CrashFan03 Really? I could not tell.
idk, looks pretty terrible to me
@@jonathanwallis3300 I can see that
The polar bear’s voice actor was the voice actor for The Strangler in SpongeBob SquarePants.
2:48 gave me Strangler vibes
It's Thomas F. Wilson who was Biff in Back To The Future.
The zookeeper is voiced by the same person who voices Bubble Bass.
@@tweer64 Thomas F. Wilson also voiced Flatts the Flounder.
You mean Biff Tanner?
Ah, damn. I forgot Butch Hartman AND Seth MacFarlene are good friends outside of their animation businesses. I mean, Hartman is still committed to animated shows for kids on Nickelodeon, whereas MacFarlene pushed his boundaries further from animated sitcoms like Family Guy on FOX to R-rated comedies like Ted. This cartoon in general is like Hartman's animation style crossed with MacFarlene's sitcom humor.
Are they still friends? I mean Seth is a liberal atheist, and Butch is a born-again christian conservative. If they still are, that's awesome. I can't find an interview between the two of them that expresses their friendship.
The last time I've ever seen Butch acknowledge Seth was for the 2010 (or 2011) Johnny Bravo season 1 DVD where he playfully refers to Seth as an unknown animator who's career never took off. I'm sure they're still friends regardless though.
AlexTheMenace Cool, can you get me a link to that? I would also like to know his connection with Genndy Tartakovsky and Craig McKrackin
Max Seuberlich I'll try to see if that special feature is available on CZcams or elsewhere. Although I have no idea what his relationship with Genndy or Craig is other than the fact that they worked together on Dexter's Lab but I'd also like to know.
He mentions Seth in his Danny phantom video on his CZcams channel
Hello Vicky's nicer cousin.
+Alex-Zander Browne If only they wrote the character Helen into The Fairly Oddparents, passing herself off as Vicky's cousin.
Helen's a different character
Where?
@Gabriel Litewski No one said otherwise but okay.
Who sounds like adult Helga
For a pair of best friends, it's surprising how little comedic chemistry they have.
This feels like what would be on TV in a TV show
Wait a minute, Family Guy humor with Fairly Odd-Parent animation! Why was this not a series?!
I know right?! That would have been interesting
Tell me about it. This could've worked! But nooooooooooooooooooooo...Nickelodeon's really just a creative control-obsessed dickweeds in their time.
Too focused on Spongebob
It’s more dexters lab animation
I think its from "what a cartoon" that was on during the early 90s on cartoon network that had a lot of shorts from a lot of writers to see what'd be good enough to be an actual series
This is absolute QUALITY! 😂😂😂 I'd love to see Butch Hartman and Seth MacFarlane do more projects together!
Yes
@@OmniXerzYes
Oh god, please no
They hated each other
@@IrrelevantToCommentLmfao They actually were friends.
Knowing Butch and Seth, if this cartoon worked it would still be airing nowadays
czcams.com/video/m06RAM8Qcx02/video.html
Assuming it get past 2005
It's neat because while the human character's are clearly Butch Hartman designs, the polar bear character is deffinatley drawn by Seth and looks like Peter Griffin, I dont think I've ever scene two cartoonists mashed up like that before
Wow, a Seth MacFarlane cartoon that isn't just another version of Family Guy. Still keeping that iron grip on old sitcom tropes, though.
This was before Family Guy lol
@@thecausalgamer7916 but after he did, like two other version of it: Life of Larry and Larry & Steve.
@@gabe_s_videos those were what got the ball rolling for family guy lol
@@thecausalgamer7916 they were prototypes for family guy. Therefore I’m counting them.
You know he worked on Johnny Bravo, right?
If it weren't for that classic Seth humor and laugh track this could have taken off
It was written by Macfarlane! It wouldn't be the same without him! (and not in a good way)
What the fuck is wrong with people? Why does everyone hate seth? He's more talented and successful than any of you 20 year old virgin white guys bitching on the internet.
@@johnwest6690 "i'm gonna prove my point that only my opinion is right by calling everyone else something to make them feel like losers... that'll help my cause" get a life. i like Seths work a lot but he makes a lot of mistakes and a lot of people dont like his stuff. that's the case with ANYONE who make popular shit, not everyone loves everything made by any particular person, stop taking it so personally.
Ostrich- Seth MacFarlane
Alligator - Butch Hartman
Polar Bear - Thomas Wilson
In an alternate universe this show will last 4 seasons and it will be one of the greatest animated shows of all time
A laugh track in a cartoon. This has to be the pinnacle of insecurity.
The Griffins should definitely watch this sitcom.
Am I the only one who doesn't mind the laugh track? It reminds me of the Flintstones and all the classic HB cartoon shows.
It kinda makes sense given that it's a parody of sitcoms, with the goofy roomates and all, but even if we don’t mind the laugh track one has to see where those who can't stand it are coming from.
Same
The bear looks more like a Seth MacFarlane character.
Family Guy meets The Fairly OddParents
ah, the necessities of every Seth MacFarlane animation project
a guy with a huge butt chin and at least one talking animal in the pilot
It's amazing how long Dee Bradley Baker has been involved with Butch and Seth's work.
Easy to see why this one never took off.
I feel like the dead people canned laughter isnt needed but is in itself hilarious simply because its so taboo and weird to use anymore
I think the Polar Bear is voiced by Biff's actor from Back to the Future. He also voiced Flatts the Flounder in SpongeBob.
Human characters are drawn with a style which is a mix of The Fairy Oddparents and Dexter's Lab.
Two seconds in and this feels like Brickleberry.
Immediately recognised Dee Bradley Baker and Tom Wilson’s voices as The Zookeeper and Mark respectively for their work on SpongeBob SquarePants, Baker voicing a variety of background fish and Wilson voicing the Tattletale Strangler. Not to forget Phil LaMarr as Warren, known for voicing Samurai Jack, Hermes Conrad on Futurama and many others.
Don’t you mean Phil Hartman?
@@georgedeboo9046 nope, it aint Phil.
1:09-1:12- Tom Wilson aka Biff/Griff/Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen from Back to the Future, there's just no mistaking that voice.
I was almost half expecting the polar bear to say "Get off of me, you butt heads." ^^
seeing a mix of both of their art styles is so odd. they work well together but my brain is trying to separate them.
I so would've wanted this as a show 😩
Same.
This would’ve been an interesting show. I definitely would’ve watched it.
1:28 crazy outta context
That alligator is so cute
Butch and Seth make a great team.
It’s literally a more “adult” version of Fairly Odd Parents 🤣💯
the funniest thing about this was all the misplaced laughter in the background
I like this, I especially like that the polar bear bosses the ostrich around and tries to beat him when he gets annoyed. They don't make cartoons like this anymore. Also I like that the alligator has that Woody Allen personality.
I feel like I’m watching a show inside a show. Like Terrence and Philip and Itchy and Scratchy
Laugh tracks ruin everything. Laugh tracks that go off when nothing comedic is happening ruins everything even more. Laugh tracks.
A laugh track in a cartoon...
Two of the most infamous names on the animation industry, they only needed John K lmao
Unironically would have been a masterpiece then. It's like when you put random weird things in a soup that end up tasting amazing.
John K. would have had the animals picking their noses and making gross faces.
5:20 **an electrical fire ignites**
Audience: “HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!”
I would happily watch this
It's great! Aside from the laugh tracks.
the very first joke reminded me of a joke in the family guy pilot
Hey, that wasn't too bad, in fact it was pretty good. I think if Seth MacFarlane hadn't made Family Guy, this might've been a decent Nicktoon.
If you still could. I mean, he was the executive producer of COSMOS.
Alex-Zander Browne What?
There would be no Fairly OddParents though if this got greeenlit it doesn't really have that much potential anyway
Holy crap it's fairly odd parents meets family guy ;o
I remember this from way back. Didn't know it was done by two of the best animators.
wow i havent seen this cartoon in years seth macfarlane and butch hartman shoul make more cartoons like this more often

I think I would've enjoyed watching this as a kid
wasn’t aware of this but family guy & fairly odd parents are two of my favorites shows which blows my mind now knowing they did this prior.
Half expected that polar bear to call someone a butthead and start searching for a sports almenac

Seth MacFarlane and Butch Hartman are both creators together.
Everyone's talkin about Butch and Seth, while I'm busy wondering if the polar bear is Biff from Back To The Future
God he's must have been a really good animator
I can’t believe I’ve never seen this before, this has some great potential
Zoomates is one of the two children's cartoons created by Seth Macfarlane. The other is Larry and Steve
Larry and Steve was also a prototype of Family Guy. Even down to the voices Seth MacFarlane created for Peter and Brian.
I never knew that these two really worked together, they are the complete opposite of the animation industry
We need this in higher quality.
The spot will also air on national cable networks including VH1 and Comedy Central.
This is like a mock up of a sitcom. XD
I remember seeing this when I was in the first grade. The animation gave me Fairly Oddparents vibes. This was a month or two after Fairly Oddparents came out. Now I know why!!!
I watched this without audio and the polar bear just had peter's voice in my head
This should’ve been a full series. If it was a serious I imagine it would’ve aired on Fox.
That laugh track is comedy death!
them slipping on the floor wax is straight up peter slipping on the bats as a principal
Great video!
I wish that was a real show
@historicalshortfilms The voice actor for the bear is Phil LaMarr, as well as the Ostrich
It looks like a combination of Family Guy, the Fairly OddParents, and some Canadian cartoon animations.
We bear bears anyone...
Omg idk I never watched the show
Bro that cage for the giraffes is so small.💀
Wow, I remember this!
The 2 zookeeps look like a de-fused version of Vicky.
Tbh the yellow hair girl look like Vicky's first job and end up getting upset and go for something easy
The laugh track lmfao.
Seems like an fairly odd parents multiverse
This is where the cutaway gag with Peter riding the washing machine came from, I think. Lol
Cool idea
The quality hurts my eyes but it's nice to see a cartoon that Seth macfarlane was in.
the comedy grew on me a little, the story was interesting, i'd watch a season of this and it was interesting to see fairly oddparents with a little seth comedy, needed slightly better jokes, no laugh track because that was just... bad and i think this would've been really good. i'm a little upset we didn't get to see the full potential of what this could have been. Ostrich was honestly kinda funny and the Polar Bear had a funny moment or 2.
@RamTerritory: If I'm correct, he also voiced the bodyguard from the "Salty Spitoon" episode of Spongebob in case anyone's wondering.
Wait the creator of family guy and the creator of fairly odd parents worked on an animated short together? Small world we live in
@Finkster5, yeah, and he also voiced Dracula from Billy & Mandy, and he also voiced Family Guy's version of Bill Cosby
We all have to start somewhere
I actually enjoyed this 🤣
Seth and Butch. Sounds pretty unique and interesting 👌
How have I never seen this before?
I hear Thomas F. Wilson plays the bear as well...Biff from BTTF for those who don't know.
the alligaytor omegalul
Ah yes, the creators of Family Guy and The Fairly OddParents teamed up to make this animated short.
This show could've gone to FOX.
