oh trust me. Its a mindset you have to teach yourself. I used to be my biggest critic and at times I fall into it. but I'm so much happier when I look for the good instead of focusing on the bad. 💜 its a process, but if you want to, in time, you'll get there too! 💜
yeah sometimes you can be a bit hard on yourself and have to work on that, but it also could mean if you are cringing at your past arts that you are making a lot of improvements ;)
As an artist myself, I still cringe at some of the stuff I make too. Bad art is essential for making good art.

a quick tip for that is to just change the size of your sketches. don't draw a bunch of things the same size on one page, but change it up and exaggerate the sizes. instant improvement! 💜

I don't have the patience to complete a sketch book and it makes me sad. This is why I love watching your completion videos because they soothe my anxiety!😍
a trick i used to use when i struggled more with it was just keeping my sketchbook sort of..in my way? i was far more likely to use it when it was out in the open and I didn't have to get up to draw if I felt like drawing.
What I do is I buy smaller sketchbooks so that it isn't as daunting to fill. Plus I don't put pressure on myself to draw on every page. If I want to skip a page, that's fine. It's taken me almost a year to complete my first one and I really had to learn not to stress about it. It's just a sketchbook. No one is going to see it if you don't want them to.
I love the alien characters and the scenes, especially how you can just tell what they mean in each scene. Also I can't wait for sketchbook 27 I hope Arlene and Nathan make it in their haha edit : tysm for all the likes uwu

I absolutely love how some of your art looks really sketchy and there are lines a bit everywhere yet we can clearly know what's actually going on or what you wanted to show (even without watching the video). Honestly it boosts my confidence into making simple messy doodles/sketches and just not really putting too much care about where my lines are or how it looks

I just started a new sketchbook on July 31st (this is the first one I’m committing to completing all of the pages consecutively, and dating my drawings!) I’ve been drawing my whole life and always just grabbed a spare sheet of printer paper or flipped to a random blank sheet in a random notebook. You’ve inspired me to take a more organized approach to artistic improvement 🥰🖤⭐️

You're honestly my biggest inspiration as an artist, Rin! It's been so fun to watch this video cause I've been watching all of your videos since the end of 2019 (November or December, I reckon), so obviously, I've watched you create many of these pages. It was like a throw back, you know? Haha! I also always feel inspired by the way you work on your sketchbook. I'm still on my first official sketchbook and I still kinda feel the need to make it "perfect", you know? I aspire to one day be able to do what you do and just have legit fun with it, experiment with blobs and stuff, leave unfinished sketchs and blank spaces, etc.

The sketchbook is also very pretty. I also like the many pictures drawn in it. The facial expressions and movements of the characters are alive.
I especially liked the way the story was animated on a page full of little squares.

You actually inspired me to get my very first Sketchbook. Since then I filled up three of them and I’m loving every minute of it. It’s almost kind of like a journal or a diary because you can look back and be like oh I remember that. Or I remember when that was my favorite character.

I love the spaces where you painted just random blue squares, I've also been doing that and similar things with different mediums in my sketchbook a lot lately. I feel that as artists, sometimes we have a need to paint/draw/create even if we don't have a specific vision or inspiration in that moment. You just have the need to put paint to paper, and so you do, and it doesn't matter if it looks like anything because it means a lot to you.

I SCREAMED WHEN SHE PUT THE MARTA GIF OMG I LOVE THAT MOVIE AND CHRIS EVANS LOOKS AMAZING IN THAT MOVIE
The blue page spoke to me. 😂 I love the just plain blue painted page. It was just a big "ahhh" moment. I think that's a cool idea when you really just want to pick up a paint brush and paint but don't know what to paint. Literally just filling a page with a flat color. I'll have to try it sometime. 😁 I also love how your sketchbook is so genuine and authentic. On your mermaid sculpture: ya know, a ton of Michelangelo's sculptures are sorta unfinished looking. Then, when you think about it, we are always improving and, as artists, we never feel like we're done. We always see more we could do, so we're almost never finished with a piece of art. You just decide you're going to stop working on it (at least, for now, as you demonstrated by coloring in one of your sketches while doing a flip through 🤣).
I love all your happy sharks, they were my fav. I ❤sharks, esp Great Whites, so it was cool to see. Also, your "perspective" drawings with city buildings and landscapes were beautifully done. Your positivity is so refreshing!
