Ghanians were the first of our African brothers and sisters to come to South Africa en mass. They arrived in the 70s in the former Transkei to teach maths, english and science. There are generations of intermarriages especially betweeon the Xhosas and Ghanians. In fact South Africans for a long time referred to any one who wasnt from SA as Ghanian so Ghanians have always been welcome in SA. The Achiempongs, Antwi, Awusiz, Chum and many other surnames found in the old Transkei have been here for more than 40 years. Welcome home.

So true, same as, around the 1980s in Mafikeng, Ghanians were educators in many high schools around Mmabatho (Mafikeng), some lecturers at the then University of Bophuthatswana, now North West University.
They were good neighbours, contributing positively to the society, law abiding citizens, before the hard headed Nigerians come with bags full of cocain and scamming people's savings.
They started destroying Hillbrow, downtown Joburg with their Mimosa club, and turn Joburg CBD into a ghetto that it is today.

I can spot my fellow Ghanaians from anywhere! I knew as soon as they started talking and said their names.
What a lovely family. Auntie Emelia is so lovely. Thank you for your service to midwifery.
I hope even if she can't live in Ghana, she can easily visit from SA (6 hour flight). Thank you Edward for supporting Auntie.
This was so heartwarming 💜 Also, as much as I 💜 Ghana, the infrastructure in South Africa will provide a much smoother landing after over 40 years in Europe.
    Best wishes xxx
