    Yes I agree. I have 2 Nox 800s, 1 Deus 1, 1 Garrett 400i, a PulseDive, my own machine from 1976 and several cheap machines. I have numerous coils from 4 inches to 15 inches. All those detectors can find stuff the others miss .
    It is all about selecting the right detector, coil and settings for the day.
    I found 2 bucket listers with the Nox 800 in the last couple of months but really good stuff with the D1 and Garrett too. I am getting my old 1976 machine running again and back in the day it found bucket listers too.
    Some conditions favour just one detector but in some conditions I use several detectors and coils. 👍

      @@detector2guns I designed the first discriminating detectors that actually worked well on the beach, sea, sand and land with minimal adjustments between. So I could go from the dry sand into the waves with little adjustment, in the early 1970s. I found a small roman coin in the sea on the first test of my prototype. So I am not a jack of all trades but I am experienced in Electronics and Computer Engineering.

    The complexity of the Deus 2 metal detector is one of the things I enjoy most about using it! Even after using some of the default programs in the machine, there is so much room for diversity among menu options! Even after watching numerous videos on the Deus 2, I am experimenting constantly trying new things and creating my own programs. It's an amazing machine with more potential than I've ever seen on another metal detector. 👍

    Totally agree, bought the Deus 1 with 9 inch coil first year it came out and it was amazing at that time, yes bought other machines as you do, I have only picked up to compared signals once using Nox 800 against Deus and been exclusively Xp Deus 2 since, as you say its a fantastic machine if you are into fiddling with the setting and trying all the programs on each target to learn, i have done air tests on alot Uk coins and many bottle caps and ring pulls, lead, foil, iron and listened to the sounds and VDI numbers with and without bottle cap on just to learn and VDI number are can change between out the ground and under depending on the type of metal, bottom line will be type of person using it, some folks just want simple turn on and go machine, I’m with you to dial it in, if you run this machine hot and open it can find the tiniest thin 3mm x 3mm foil and my pin pointer can not find it and from mint packets and rings up 32 VDI and clean signal, got to dig them to find out what it is to learn or you will learn nothing, in life if things were easy everybody would be doing it but most people are lazy or have an excuse for it.

    Awesome Jeremy! Was thinking about what you said about what the machine is telling you in order to dial it in in different conditions. What would really be awesome is in future videos if you could take a few seconds at the start of your hunts and video what the machine is telling you to do to dial it in. That would be HUGE info for us… and watch your views go off the chart.

    Jeremy, I just discovered something really odd. I was playing with civil war buttons to see if I could create a notch or tone breaks to see if I could sniff out buttons amongst the iron, trying to leave the really small stuff. Not sure which program but here’s what happened. I got good hits on a ragged eagle cuff button, great hit on eagle coat buttons, etc. then I dug out some of the nicest eagle buttons, loaded with gilt, and for some crazy reason, it would not hit those huge, perfect buttons. I’ve been at this since 1973, never seen that. Once I get done detecting tomorrow I will try to replicate it and video it. I’d love to send it to you when I do. Thanks bud for all you do

I have watched you say this is the best machine ever to just about condemning it. So, I thought about it, and you were just going simply through learning the machines. Yeah it has its flaws, but I like it. I to run it in different modes at the same sites, over and over again. Enjoy it actually. A good challenge. Im takin the D1 to all my playgrounds etc i have been b4 and finding stuff (silvers and clad). Imho i think the software is key to all this. I dig without numbers so the tones need to b full with me. I cant make it on 2 tones for i need more feedback from the ground etc. Iam getting better at it for i dig less junk ( i dig occasionally or on purpose just 2 b sure on tones ). But i agree on you on 1 thing… lots lots of hours man! Cuz when i think im there… nah i need more different sites to learn more 😄👍🏼

    Hello everyone! I had bought the D2 and went hunting on different fields, here are my results:
    - Dry soil as sawdust, not disced field, high stuble - went with modified relic program, to swing above wheat stuble, found coins and many good things, this was my first hunt, was very intresting, pitch tone is king!
    - Dry soil as sawdust, not disced field pressed down stuble, second time on this field, now with deep hc, got me a small roman coin from 20cm depth, no kidding, awesome in those circumstances! And others have already detected that field then.
    - Trying out programs in my garden, EMi high as sh1t, Deep hc was very effected to EMI likewise Relic. Sensitie and fast not so much, deus mono - man it was quite like a church mouse! 17 khz and not a squeak! Amazing! (I hunt with 9" coil)
    - Badly, i mean siriously badly beat up pasture with roman things there, dry soil and little bit tall grass. Deep hc got me 6 coins, and several little bronze sheets, bals, lead bullet etc... one coinf rom like 18 cm, gotta respect this machine!
    Sensitive hits a small 15mm diameter thin hammered coin at 18 cm in normally mineralized soil (base program) couldnt believe it!
    So to say I am amazed by this machine, will bring me lots of happy hours! The only thing that I miss is the manual ground balance in most programs, I liek to adjust my ground myself. But everything else is astounding to me!

    Jeremy, thanks for taking the time to lay it all out in a way that I feel anyone reasonable should follow and agree. QUESTION; How do you feel the Deus 2 on mono compares to the Deus 1? What’s wild is there’s 12 different machines in the preset SMF programs, guess if you count mono programs it’s like that many more detectors? Second question about full tones. Have you communicated your thoughts on full tones to Deus factory? Thanks

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak  Před 2 lety +1

      I have communicated with XP several times about full tones and have given some suggestions. XP is working on full tones on the D2 right now. The Deus 1 full tones has great tonal advantages over the Deus 2 full tones at this time. The Deus 2 mono is hard to stabilize in harsh soil conditions compared to the Deus 1. The Deus 2 is a deeper machine but I am not much interested in depth right now. I will be using the Deus 2 underwater this summer.

    can you be more specific on 5 tones working better than full tones? i realize the full tones may not be "as good as the d1" but what does 5 tones do that full tones doesnt do? i would rather hear different sounds for different targets rather than grouping them into a set of 5 tones.

    • @MrBottlecapBill
      @MrBottlecapBill Před 2 lety

      Changing the tones changes how the software decides how to categorize targets as well as how that software makes them sound regardless of any other performance gains or losses. Anything that gets you to dig more will find you more and different people like different tone patterns. It's not that the machine won't hit every target using various tones, it's that those targets sound better or worse to you personally. Imagine if you only had one single tone.......things could get confusing really fast and you'd have to dig every single target forever especially without a screen and ID number. So the various tones are there for you to find what works best for you at any given time. Too many tones can get confusing as well.....if you're in a modern trashy park full of foil chunks and can slaw then having too many tones may create so much noise your head hurts. Lowering the tone options will help you zone in on the key targets you want to dig.

    • @impact9801

Gary Blackwell has some great how-to videos here on CZcams. If you have a chance go to a dealer and ask to try one out. You may be surprised to find out that the Deus 2 isn't as difficult as you'd thought. Forget D1 when you are using D2 don't compare them for full tones and you will see different light .

      The equinox doesnt compare in thick co-located target hunting D2 9" it just will not keep up! And yes I have both nox,d2 and in iron it's not fair with pitch tones.

    Yeh, d2 is useless in full tones, i tested it a lot, i would pass over targets like crazy, but pitch is a game changer, nothing escapes pitch..vacuums everything
