  • There is no doubt that the WS6 headphones are amazing and the puck is a class bit of kit on its own, but some people struggle with the over the ears design that it entails. this is a relatively inexpensive way to cure this issue and protect the puck.
    We were lucky enough to get a XP Deus 2 on launch day! We paid full price, and over the next few weeks we'll be going through things that we like, dislike and tips to make your detecting easier and more fun. Stay tuned to see more.

      Quadruple agreed. The XP designers have over-engineered this and ended up with two expensive control units - each of which needs mastering and twice the chance something will bust.

    For those who don’t know. The Deus II will be sold later this year/next year as a Deus 2 WS6 master. Basically it’s a Deus 2 but without the RC but will be able to buy a new headphone coming out called WSA 2. And those will connect to the WS6 puck wirelessly.

      The price isn’t confirmed on the ws6 master as yet.

    Hi, thank you for sharing. Please can I ask if I can run the same setup with my earbuds but with the wsa II.
    So I would have the main control unit, wsaii. I don't have the ws6 puck. And wouldn't want to buy it just to wire in my own earbuds.
    Thank you.

    • @GRIFFINds
      @GRIFFINds  Před měsícem +1

      Unfortunately the only way to use your own earbuds is to use the puck with the adapter and a wireless receiver. It's a shame that XP do this. I suppose it's to decrease latency and to keep you buying XP products 😞

    • @charlesgarratt5270
      @charlesgarratt5270 Před měsícem

      @GRIFFINds Thank you for replying so fast. The wsaii also have a detachable control unit. Which states on xp website that you can connect a hard wired headset. But do they mean their own wired headphones or any wired headphones or earbuds? If I have the main deus ii controller. What's the difference between the ws6 and wsaii as they both have a detachable control unit and both take the jack.
      So confused. Appreciate your time and videos. Thank you.

    • @GRIFFINds
      @GRIFFINds  Před měsícem

      Ah, now I understand. I would believe that as long as a jack can be inserted into the WSII headphones, I would suppose that a Bluetooth receiver could be inserted into the jack... But I don't know if it will add any latency delay to the tones. Sorry I can't be any more help. 🤔😔😊

    • @charlesgarratt5270

  • @thewanderer8

    I can't help thinking what on earth the point of this Puck is? Surely, the main control unit transmits signals to the puck, so just use any headphones that uses the same protocol. As for XPs own protocol being 10 times faster than Bluetooth, my reaction is so what? Bluetooth on every machine I've used (the Equinox 800 being the latest) has never been a problem, is more than fast enough. Making something even faster to avoid latency in signal transmission is just over-engineering a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
    I have no doubt the Deus 2 is a good machine but back to the original question - what is the point of the Puck?
