This is where things get real. The Lich is one of the creepiest, most threatening villains in all of Cartoon Network, and I love it. Ron Perlman is the perfect voice for him.

Ice King's "Whoops, I've got the dropsies" is one of the most infuriating moments of the whole show lmao

The Lich's design is based on the horned king from Taran & the black cauldron
He was originally be named Lich king, but was changed to avoid confusion with the World of Warcraft character
The lich is voiced by Ron Perlman, he gave many villains a cold intimidating voice, like Slade from Teen Titans
Remember the world of Warcraft commercials with Ozzy Osbourne? That was weird.
Ron Pearlman was an inspired choice
he doesn't get a lot of lines, but theya re effective
"come into the well, finn. Aren't you cold?"
FINALLY you got to see the Lich big boi form, one of Cartoon Network's greatest villains

the Lich is never tricked or defeated by the same thing twice. The gauntlet that Billy used was easily destroyed, the sweater only worked once too.
everyone talks about other moments from the litch that come in the future, but for me my favourite is definitely the "walk into well" that shit is genuinely bone chilling. first time this guy speaks and hes trying to get this kid to kill himself.

My favourite line of the lich was “COME”
5:50 - that was a lake they went across, hence why Finn's fear didn't come up. It has to specifically be the ocean
I don't know why, but I just CAN'T consider it as a lake. Considering how I always think the lake is to be only seen in Taigas, Plains, and Evergreen Mountain ranges. If it ain't that, it's just a river.
Finally. Meet the Lich. One of the creepiest characters in Adventure Time. Also. Thanks for watching "Heat Signature" before this. "Mortal Recoil" is actually supposed to be the season finale but "Heat Signature" aired after it.
I got some heads up a while ago about them being out of order, so thankfully that worked out
He is tied with that "animal" in creepiest beings in the show.

There's a lot of things which observant fans had noticed in both the Opening and all the episodes which came before these two. Since you had seen evidence of various cities which are destroyed/in ruin. But what you might have not noticed was how there's actual nuclear bombs that never went off shown in the opening. And with how the Mortal Folly Title Card looks like a Green Mushroom Cloud.... Yeah you will be able to get a good idea about what had happened long ago in the Land of OOO.
The Lich, the coolest design in all of Adventure Time and such an interesting being.
The creater of adventure time as a child drew a drawing of an evil snail and that is what inspired the show.
That poor ice cream person who Bubblegum is eating, lol! She's like "PB, what are you doing?"
The Lich's "Shhhh....after effortlessly catching the gauntlet and shattering it gets me every time.

The reason the last three episodes are out of order is because they premiered out of order due to the fact that they were going to premier heat signature before these two episodes, but on the day it was supposed to premiere something went wrong on Cartoon Network’s end so they decided to rerun a previous episode that day instead and since these two episodes already had a set premiere date and they couldn’t change it They had no choice, but to air heat signature after these two episodes (which also means that by if you’re going by premiere dates heat signature was the season finale, although I think these two episodes are more fitting for a season finale as that’s what they were intended to be)
In case the wake of pollution and death, destroyed subway, giant mushroom cloud, and vat a glowing green energy didnt hammer home what the source of the lich's power is, the fact that hes voiced by Ron Pearlman, the guy who did the openning narration for nearly every Fallout game, should.

It’s funny seeing how much you hate ice king. Obviously I won’t say when or how, but you will eventually come to love him. Although him going “ok I’m out of here” when PB turns 13 is great. Shows even as creepy as he is, he won’t stoop that low

Also i love how they used the snail because before everyone thought it was just a cute Easter egg but not anymore after the season final instead of saying oh hey it's the snail I said oh god its the snail

The Lich absolutely does come back. He is the main antagonist of the series, keep an eye on that snail and remember it! It's gonna be back in a big way.

This was just a taste. Seriously, some kid-appropriate shows push the boundaries with adult humor (although Adventure Time's pretty good with that, too), but the thing that stuck out to me the most is just how dark and creepy it could get.

It is interesting that Lich is for some reason hurt by both the sweater and music that Jake plays. And I think the reason is not so much in the sweater or music themselves, but in the fact that they r acts of caring. The Lich wants to kill and destroy everything, all his powers work towards that goal, so smth that exists purely to care abt others would definitely hurt him. Although that might not be the only reason. Can't wait for s3!
