I have two, one on my gravel bike and one my road bike both in 1x configs. I have had zero issues and haven't needed the scaling after the latest firmware update. I have had them for two seasons and have no issues whatsoever, they have been solid in rain, snow, crazy gravel adventures, backpacking. Amazing value, I see almost no reason to get the Quarq one over this unless you have money to burn. There is not even an issue with functionality with using the sram AXS web service. Amazing product, amazing product 100% recommended.
Bought one for my mtb after your previous review. Had been great so far 👍
Really satisfying to see you use the correct tightening order on those 8 bolts.
⭐️👌🏼
I wonder if you could introduce errors to the measurements by unbalanced mounting bolts.
I have been riding for a few months with a Sigeyi power meter on my SRAM Force 2x setup. It has been solid and the battery really lasts. Just like the video, it was very easy to install. I really can't think of any negatives for the spider based meter. It just works!
Wow... I purchased exactly one year ago. My hardware version is v. 4 while the hardware version which GP Lama tested is v. 8. I have no issues with the sigeyi power meter so far. Quite amazed with the accuracy comparison results. They seems doing lots of the hardware improvements within a year.
Hi Shane,
I bought my SIGEYI SRAM 3 BOLT SPIDER in May 2020 for £320 GBP and it has never missed a beat on my BMC Fourstroke.
Still going strong and happy with the numbers.
Much more believable than the numbers iff my Ronde crank arm meter.
Shane - based in no small part on your hands on review I purchased a AXO for my gravel bike just before the new year and received it within 2 weeks here in Northern Japan... GREAT service from Jonathan at Cycling 100...
My Merida Silex is a BB386 EVO frame along with a 1x Di2 GRX groupset and I ended up adapting a XT M8100 crankset by using a Token Ninja BB with a single 2mm spacer on the non-drive side of the BB and a custom 3D printed 2mm spacer between the spider & the drive side crank arm to give me a 50mm chainline... ( GRX is 49.7 ) - additionally I usually run pedal spacers and the increased Q-factor of the XT crank has eliminated that requirement...
So far, this set up works excellent and in the absence of an affordable or non-bodge power meter set up I am very pleased with the results... We're in full winter mode now in Sapporo, so no outdoor testing but indoor testing proves the AXO is consistent with my Kickr Snap...
I was originally contemplating the Favero MTB Pedal hack that you outlined but there's just a few concerns - least of which would be carving up the bottom of my Northwave shoes - and it's literally half the price to go the Sigeyi AXO route...
Just purchased based on your recommendation! Thanks and keep up the great work
Keep me posted on how it goes.
Been using AXO power meters for close to a year now and it is really value for money plus the fact that readings are always reliable.
It's great to see that they nailed it - not an easy task with this modular design. Otoh, you can get an original SRAM/Quarq powermeter spider here in Germany for about 360 Euros, including tax and p&p.
Can also get the Shimano version as well, do they ship to UK ?
Can you give link please ?
@@gourami7 probably R2 cycling
Having 2 of them and compared with Assioma DUO (gold standard) and know they are reliable, even tough they had some little ups and downs on their FW updates/history. Subtle changes, but now it seems they nailed it. The almost "cousin" Xcaday (spider) is very similar but slightly less constant and required a scale factor correction.
Just mounted a axo on my easton ea90 with a raceface narrow wide 1x 38t chainring on my gravel. Works perfectly.
I got one for my rotor 3d30 crankset and works great for me! I compared to my Favero assioma’s and tacx neo 2 T and all looks good!
Got mine 3 years ago. 3 years on the mtb, going strong in irish mud. Cannot recommend it enough.
I’ve got 3 x Quarq DZero and now 2 x Axos. Very very happy so far with the Axos…. Just hope the internal rechargeable batteries have a long life
I am an AXO user. I actually have one on the hard tail MTn bike and one on each of my gravel / adventure bikes. (3 total) Love them. I was a user of many versions of SRM as well as Quarq. The AXO for myself is good enough.
for the prize! this is crazy! Ill try it the day i change my bike :P
Thank you for your review, SIGEYI israel distributor
I have one on a gravel bike for a little more than a year. Have had unusually high readings on some rides during the winter (6 months ago, in southern hemisphere). At the end managed to isolate the problem to happen on very cold days early in the morning, when the bike had spent the night stored on a warm interior space. So it seems that the temperature compensation is not continuous and happens only at startup / auto zero operation. Maybe that issue had been solved on the latest firmwares; seems to be a lot more consistent now.
Thanks for that. Are you still having that issue with the latest firmware?
Are you sure that grease was warranted on the spider and crank interface? For the 8-bolt Quarq spiders, the install instructions say to clean both pieces with rubbing alcohol to get them grease/dirt free and don’t say to re-grease the interface.
Latest firmware on the AXO (Since your previous AXO video) seems to have ironed out majority of the spikes I've been seeing for the past year on the MTB.
Would love to see a direct comparison of the SRAM axs one but I guess it would be quite difficult
Are these available in U.S.? It's probably me but I'm really struggling to find the specific p/n that I need for a SRAM Force 1, 40t, 175mm
Well, that was dull. In a good way. Quark are going to be looking over their shoulders for pricing especially. All good.
I was hoping this would be the case, but it’s only a $49 (USD) difference?
Somewhat unrelated question, but sure you will know… Is the 8-bolt interface on the newer AXS cranks the same 8-bolt interface SRAM has used for years with the Red and XX1 cranks? In short, would this PM and/or the Quarq AXS PM fit an older Red crankset that has the 8-bolt interface? Thanks!!
Hi. Thanks for review. Question not from topic. Where did you get Assioma spd version pedals? They are not producing such a product as far I know...
Power Meter Pedals: Favero Assioma // Xpedo SPD Hack: czcams.com/video/ybAFIhKahnM/video.html
I got one last year. Haven't installed it because the crank it works with uses a 30mm spindle and my bike frame is designed for a 24mm spindle. I didn't realize this when I bought it. Saving it for a possible new CX or TT bike.
Great review! 👏👏👏 These spider mount power meters don't work on the SRAM Rival electronic group sets since they don't have removable chain rings. Right???
Not on that chainset, no. A Red/Force crankset will work with other Rival components though.
@@gplama At the relatively affordable price point of the Rival electronic groupset, I guess that is a fair compromise. Keep up the great work, Mr. Llama!!!
Hi, great video. Any chance you can get the power to show on the wahoo element bolt head unit.
Yes
Is there Axo PM shimano road version?
@Shane Miller -GPLama, where are you getting the $690 USD price? I see the price of the AXS power meter in the States at $460 and that's what I paid for it earlier this year. Still kind of wish I could have waited, the SIGEYI AXO looks like a very good buy and at a great price. Cheaper than a lot of left side only crank power meters too.
The SRAM website. It lists MSRP. Where did you see $460?
@@gplama CZcams keeps deleting my replies because of links, but the SRAM site lists it for $458 for me.
@@gplama the SRAM 107 bcd pm spider is usually available for under 400 € on sites like R2-bike, just bought one myself of a new built. But the Sigeyi is definitely. a nice deal
Anyone has successfully synched with a polar Grit X (not version 2) with Axo ?
Will the installation of such a power meter slightly change the offset of my 1X chainring or not at all ?
Should be the same if it’s just a spider swap. If you’re switching cranksets and BB you’ll need to check the specs.
Is possible to use force axs cranks, sigeyi pm and Shimano chainrings? I think it would work but I cannot find examples of this setup.
AXS/DUB has a 107mm BCD where as Shimano rings are 110.... Magene has a P505-S1108 which allows Force AXS cranks/DUB BB and Shimano rings iirc.
I might have missed it but does this fit a Sram Force Wide crankset? Or is my only option still pedals?
PowerMeterCity have this covered: powermetercity.com/faq/can-i-install-a-sram-red-force-axs-107-bcd-power-meter-spider-on-my-sram-force-wide-crankset/
@@gplama Amazing thank you!
Any chance of testing out Magene's new spider based power meter? They call it the Magene P505
If I can get a hold of one, yes.
How is it with oval chainring? Anyone knows?
the question is whether you received it unknown or they knew they were sending it to GPLama... but charts are looking good, much better than a Quarq's :D
If companies are able to easily ‘tweak’ meters they send for review to be more accurate, I’m sure they’d do it to all of them.
@@gplama yes, only in this case there is a good chance that the average user will get one that needs weight calibration at home...
I'd go as far as saying ALL power meters should be validated.
@@gplama yes, that's a great truth! (and all indoor trainers! 🙂)
looks to be about $500 shipped to australia vs the $690for the quarq spider, i would rather pay the extra 180 and wait for the quarq, the auto zero is amazing and the warranty/ customer service on them is amazing and local to melbourne
Yep, that's a fair call. Support is something to consider.
Can you please do a power comparison utilising an oval chainring???? They offer oval rings on the Chinese website, If they are not compatible I will have to continue to wait until the Favero Assioma MTB pedals come out.
To be honest, I'm not all that interested in oval chainrings. They're not something I've used or plan to use for my own riding. Sigeyi should be able to tell you if they're compatible or not.
Il mio misuratore di potenza sigeyi sovrastima i watt..... esempio a 330 watt segnalati in verità ne sono 300.
Come posso fare per non avere questa differenza?
Wow, that looks a great power meter. Can i fit one of these to my Ultegra R8000 cranks/chainset?
You'll beed to use a Rotor ALDHU crankset or similar. See this setup here: czcams.com/video/w9z7CrO3Ims/video.html
You must replace your R8000 if You would like to put a spider-based powermeter into your bike. (i recommend to replace :) )
Expecting anything new for 2022 SRAM AXS? Update to Red?? Thx
Not sure. I’d like to see slightly smaller RED hoods/levers. Similar to what they’ve done with Rival.
Anyone know the waterproof rating on this unit?
Thanks for the video. I ordered the Sigeyi for the XX1 from Cycling100 the other day. But I've not heard anything from them regarding the order. How was your experience with them. They seem totally unresponsive.
Experience with them was fine back when I did this video.
@@gplama You might want to take their site off your channel. I've never heard from them, and lots of people are reviewing them as a scam now. Apparently a lot of people aren't getting their orders. and no communication.
@@3GatesFilms Hmmm... Link removed from the video description and replaced with the Sigeyi official site. Thanks for the heads-up.
Just an update: After 3 months of no communication from the seller. It showed up in my mailbox yesterday.
So odd. So they’re not a scam, just terrible customer service.
@@3GatesFilms Good to hear you finally received the meter. Three months isn't an ideal wait time though....
I like your torque wrench. Do you have an affiliate link?

Shane, your pronunciation of Sigeyi’s name is actually pretty much as close as we can get in English.
How is it vs the power2max NGeco? Double budget friendly powermeter.
It's hard to do a direct same-time comparison between the two. The Power2Max NGeco has also been a very good meter in the Lama Lab and outside when testing pedals and trainers.
@@gplama if i could choose only one which one do you prefer for me to buy? Thanks in advance
@@hanifschanel Entirely your call what to buy. There's a lot to consider. Price, support, compatibility, etc. Data from both meters has been good in my testing.
@@hanifschanel NGEco, that will be accurate for everybody for sure (german quality, reliability and support since 10 years...), i have a (bad) feeling that this Axo was "prepared" for GPLama to get this accuracy "out from the box"
@@andraslukoviczki519 How would Sigeyi even do that? Tweak the firmware before sending it out? Test spiders against Assiomas in their factory before sending them out? Seems like a stretch.
I purchased the SRAM Quarq 107bcd spider for £300 last week. Prices have halved recently.
Nice! They look like they're out of stock everywhere for a while.
problem with quarq is the only workwith 8-bolt, so unley you bought that fro start most have 3 bold and need a brand new cranckset - where as Segeyi comes in 3-bolt vrsions - realy considering this option - thx GPL for a great review.
It's a good product, but how can I change the battery? 15:47
It has a non replaceable battery.
I am always confused looking at your data comparison, why is it you do not have a drivetrain loss? The smart trainer matches the power from the pedals, I thought there would be a 3-5% loss in the drivetrain.
@@SawyerPangborn I am surprised by that. They specify a +/- 1% accuracy and then take a guess at drivetrain loss and add it. I have never seen a statement on any of the trainer websites saying this is what they do, have you?
@@AlanBen44 I thought I had seen it somewhere or heard it, but can't find anything to back that up - I've deleted that comment, haha.
Asked over on the WW forums today too. See my reply here: weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=159339&start=270#p1720881
@@gplama Thanks for the link and reply
@@AlanBen44 the drivetrain loss is apprx between 1% and 2% somewhere (depending on small or big ring or position on the rear sprockets) at the 100-500w range for sure if You have clean and newer drivetrain parts. If You have an accurate PowerTap G3 rear wheel You will have the similar difference as loss. the 3-5% diff is too high imho. So the (almost) matching duals here is acceptable, it is within the error margins.
this might be a roockie question.... is it compatible with campa Centaur crankset?
No idea sorry, I'm not across anything Campagnolo.
no, the Campagnolo cranksets are not modular , the spider and the crank are one unit. You must buy a special modular-designed Campagnolo crankset for 1k dollars apprx to use a spider-based powermeter with any Campa cranksets (honestly the Campagnolo is a very small market for every spider-based PM manufacturer so only the SRM and the Power2Max are making such a spiders for tons of dollars) ... a totally dead-end. So for Campa groupsets the best way is buy Assiomas and dont touch the crankset :)
@@andraslukoviczki519 thanks for the detailed explanation, much appreciated.
I don't think Sigeyi has a U.S.A. distributor as of now who can handle warranty replacements. So if you live in the U.S., buy an AXO and it quits working you have to send it back to China. I communicated with them about it, and they don't seem willing (or able) to get a distributor in the U.S. right now. I told them that is too bad, I would love to buy an AXO once they have a U.S. distributor who can handle warranty issues! Anyone want to sign up to be their U.S. distributor?
So in this moment there is no reason to buy the Sram powermeter. Nice.
Agree!
We should give a chance to new players in the market...for half the price
Uk distribution for sigeyi now
