Mostly to test the GoPro location and mic clearness. The camera is probably mounted too low, but the mic sounds really good in my opinion. Let me know what you think in the comments.
Good informative stuff. Enjoying my new t7 so far. Do you intentionally run your highbeam on in daytime? Have never understood why some motorcyclists do that. Any increase in visibility/safety is definitely negated in blinding oncoming traffic esp. with leds.
In the daytime the high beam cannot blind oncoming drivers as the sunlight is too overpowering. I’ve tested this by having someone else ride my bike towards me with this high beams during the day and it just looks like daytime running lights.
Battery tender for valve operated batteries I use mine once a month as brand new bike battery went dead after 12 weeks on 40 mile a day commuting…. What MPG was met after 16 tooth fitted? Great mods vid
Thanks! Most of the time I'm getting 51-54mpg, but I did a road trip across Idaho, Montana and Wyoming and was cruising at 85-90mph and was closer to 44-47. Phenomenal MPG and my hand calculations usually exceeds what the bike says.
I think it did. But, I am also pretty small - only 5'7" - so the 50lbs difference in size is pretty hefty for me. For someone a little bigger it might not mean as much.
@@mathiasandreasen8507 Yeah I see that now. They had a 14 and 16 when I bought; I think mine is a 16 and I later bought an 18 that ended up being too tall. Maybe give Madstad a call and see if they’ll have the shorter ones again sometime soon?
It's a Zoom H1N that is inside of my coat and then mic'd where my Cardo mic is. The height of the video is off though so I'm going to pick up a Ride Tech mount or a Chin Mount
I have a Chin Mount brand for my GoPro and couldn’t be happier with it. Then I have the media mod on the GoPro mounted to helmet and use a Purple Panda mic inside the helmet. Works great with little to no wind noise thanks to the large dead cat cover and no worries about syncing audio to video.
Your my same height and weight. Did you lower the bike or kept it stock? I bought the lowering links but haven’t installed them yet. Reason I want to lower it is because at stop lights I’m having to search for even pavement to be comfortable holding the bike. Not sure if you have the same issues.
I have not lowered the bike. I’ve thought about it, but haven’t done it yet and am not sure I’m going to. It’s for sure very tall, but I’d have to swap out the rear spring again if I did lower it and am not in a hurry to do it.
How do you like it compared to the S10? I’m looking at an S10 for more highway oriented riding. I have a few dual sport bikes so the T7 kind of overlaps with my 650’s. My thoughts are that the T7 will cost just as much as an S10 by the time you do some upgrades for long haul riding and still not be as good.
The S10 is an awesome bike. If you're looking for mostly highway and already have 650's than the S10 is perfect. I imagine at some point I'll own one again.
@@elindenstein thanks! I’ll probably end up with a T7 one day. I’m looking forward to seeing the world raid version on our side of the pond. I think by the time you do all the upgrades you have done and plan on doing the T7 will be hard to beat. Long Haul Paul switched to the T7 and has 170,000mi on his now I believe. Definitely can’t beat Japanese reliability.
@@gravytrainoutdoors I have definitely done off-roading I wouldn't have attempted on the S10, but on the S10 I could do 1,000 mile days without breaking a sweat. I think I've done a 600-700 mile day on the T7, though, and it was totally fine. I did take the big Madstad windshield off in favor of the stock one with some adjustments for this year so we'll see how that goes.
I actually never did that until I started seeing other writers do it during the daytime for better visibility and I also think it just looks way cooler on this bike. I turn it off when it's dark outside though.
Excellent commentary, thanks for sharing!
Hey Eddy I’m your neighbor up on 8th Ave NW and Richmond Beach Road. I just got a 24 t 700 from Motoplex

Nice review! Did the africa twin feel a ton bigger than the t7? I'm between those 2 bikes.

Hey Eddy, thanks for the video! What size Madstad windscreen did you go with?✌🏼
I believe the 16”
@@elindenstein 18” maybe? That seems to be the shortest one on the website

Hey Eddy, thanks for sharing this. 16 teeth means also a chain change?
No, just the front sprocket and a chain adjustment 😊
Links to the Farkles?

Great video content, but your camera needs to be higher since the blurred windscreen blocks the view :)
Yeah - I was trying out a new chin mount that had the camera running much lower than usual.
Wow! I've been looking for a solution to the wind buffeting. I'm 6'2".
Get adjustable screen mounts...NICECNC
What Amber aftermarket lights did you put on?
Check out "Zmoon Motorcycle LED Driving Fog Lights 60W White and Amber" on Amazon.
The battery was dead because you probably left something on. Mine has sat in the shop all winter and started right up.
Were those the stock Pirelli's at 5500 miles? Still looked pretty good.
Yep, and still on at almost 11,000 miles! Still a decent amount of wear left. I bet they can get to 13,000 or 14,000.
May I ask why you sold the super tenere? Was it a height issue? I’m also 5’7 and I’m just wondering why you got rid it it. Thanks,
Probably because it is tall and likely the heaviest adv bike made. I enjoyed mine, it was an awesome bike. Got tired of the weight though.
Understandable, what are you riding now if I may ask my friend?@@whuddle

Do you have to run with high beam where you live?😊

With the 16tooth did you notice any increase in gas mileage?
Slightly yeah, maybe 2-3mpg improvement.
With the sprocket change are the clocks out, if yes how much
I don't understand the question?
What is the highest speed on the highway that you can cruise at before the handle grip feels buzzy?
I'm yet to hit whatever speed that would be. I was cruising all day in Montana doing 90 and still no buzzing.
@@elindenstein ---> What is the RPM when cruising steady at 80 mph?
@@Dnewman3402-6 Probably about 6k. It's smooth though. 6k on this feels like 4500 on my old Super Tenere
What gps are you running?
Garmin Zumo XT
You like the cockpit setup?
It's perfect!
Who makes that Touring seat?
Seat Concepts. They sell a kit and you use your stock seat pan to make it. It's about a 40 minute install and very worth it.
High beams during the day, not cool with T7 , drivers will hate you.
Nah, increasing visibility is cool 😎
It's dangerous. I met such T7 driver and I was blinded by him. I also have T7 and those LEDs are just too much...
I know the comments on high beams were many months ago, but even the NHTSA recommends motorcyclists use high beams during the day.
It looks like some BMW's.
