I just want to say that I started reading Harry Potter in my 40s…yes…40s. Never read it or watched the movies when it first came out. I love the series! I’m not much of a fantasy reader either but I have a wand, I claim Slytherin (that’s what the sorting hat kept giving me so I had to accept it), and I’ve been to Harry Potter World twice. There are messages within the story and it’s just exciting and cozy at the same time.

Thank you for opening up. It just made me ball my eyes out. I don’t speak about my feelings. Growing up I didn’t have parents that cared. They were alive and I lived with them but didn’t care. It made me isolate myself. Life been very hard for months. I’m in therapy but at times it doesn’t feel like it’s enough. I lost my sister due to cancer out of nowhere and my marriage hit a bump in the road. A lot of times I don’t feel like I will make it. Thank you for opening up and your kind words.
So so sorry you’re going through this. Just know you’re not alone, I promise. It’s so easy to feel like no one else is struggling, but I think the more we open up and are vulnerable like this the more we will realize that we all are going through hard things. Just know I’m always here to listen 🥹🫶🏽

What you said about vulnerability and being open is so relatable.
It’s so scary to put vulnerable parts of ourselves out there for strangers on the internet or people we don’t know if we can fully trust! I sometimes write or film things and then never post them because people online can be so cruel and I just don’t know if I have the bandwidth to deal with that kind of response. But then I see other people who are being brave and sharing and I respect them so much for it, and I love seeing them find community, kindness, and shared humanity because they were brave and open.
It’s such a conundrum! There’s wisdom in choosing who to be vulnerable with but also value in being that brave one who speaks.🤷🏻♀️

I’m reading Harry Potter for the first time now as an adult and I am loving it too! The first book is an *experience* and it totally made me understand why there is a whole aisle dedicated to that universe in my local Barnes. 😅 I felt like it woke up my imagination in a really beautiful way. I’m on book 5 now, taking a little break from it to read some other things, but have thoroughly enjoyed the ones I’ve read so far. :)

As someone who is not part of the black community, I want to know more from others' perspectives. I am part of the LGBTQ+ community so the way you said you want to learn from another perspective is how I feel about POC creators. Thank you for opening up, even if it was just a little. Just that tiny bit you did made me feel less alone with trying to find my footing in life and figure out what I’m gonna do in this life! I’m 32 and living life for the first time really, as I lost my mom December 2022 after caregiving for her full time for 8 years.
So now I’m out here, living with my dad (yay!), and just finally embracing that I don’t know what’s next and that’s okay! Just having fun with it and seeing what happens.
Anyway, just checked out Magnolia Parks from Libby for my Kindle and will try Harry Potter again sometime soon (I read the first book on my like… first generation in history smartphone to hide it from my mom back in college cause I wasn’t allowed to read it when I was a tiny human lol).
