  • Combining the best features from two of Riese and Müller’s standout models, the Tinker and the MultiCharger, this brand new model, the Riese & Müller Multitinker, opens the door to rear-loading cargo bikes within the Riese & Müller range. Here we are at Riese and Müller’s HQ to see the new MultiTinker in the flesh.
    Propelled to popularity by models such as the Tern GSD, rear loading cargo bikes offer money, time and hassle saving solution to family transport, whilst their stable handling characteristics have made them a favourable choice by an increasing number of parents. What makes the Multitinker particularly attractive is that it rides just like a normal sized bike, whilst being a longtail. Its low centre of gravity, compact 20 inch wheels and rear-loading design combine to create a cargo bike that offers balanced and stable handling.
    We’re super excited to see the Bosch Smart System featured on the Multitinker, one of the first rear-loading cargo bikes to feature it. Representing the latest in eBike technology, the new Bosch Smart System is equipped with a wealth of new features including the ability to lock and unlock the bike via your smartphone, GPS navigation and alarms. The Smart System also allows for over-the-air updates via the eBike Flow App, meaning you can easily keep up with the latest changes from Bosch.

    I'm looking forward to seeing these out here, I think they will sell well. Great idea combining the two concepts. And as someone with a knee injury, cycling (I have a Townie) has been nothing but a benefit - and ebike offering that assistance just means your bike can take you further.

      Hi Magnus, thanks for reaching out. Yes, a great combination to combine the Multicharger and Tinker. Why not have the best of both worlds, hey? Hope you're well.

    7:42 - I don't have kids but I like the idea of that cage seat to use as a storage basket for shopping bags. Might need some additional basic modifications with velcro strips and/or bungee cords to stop them falling out the sides. But potentially that could carry loads!

      Hi there, the Multitinker is a versatile bike and can be used for cargo, as well as carrying children. The rear rack uses the 'Racktime' system which can accommodate a range of different accessories. Riese & Muller have developed double panniers that have a volume of 42 litres, making them perfect for carrying groceries. Check them out here -> www.r-m.de/en-gb/bikes/multitinker/

    Fantastic bike. I love it. Now drop the price by £2000 and I can consider it. £5,375 = second hand Leaf money.

    Having just tried the Benno boost, this is in the mix along with the Tern.

      Hey there :) You're in good hands with all three! The Benno Boost, Tern GSD and Multitinker are fantastic rear-loading cargo options. The 24 inch wheels on the Boost give it some cool off-roading capabilities, whilst the GSD and Multitinker can be stored vertically which has benefits if you're tight for storage space.

      @@tomxaak they all fit two child seats but children have a tendancy for elongation so I was wondering what the difference was.

      Hi Mr Octarine and tomxaak, thanks for reaching out! The rack length is the same, but with the safety bar kit on the R&M MultiTinker there is 4-5 cm more usable space for kids.

    Can it be stored on it’s tail like the Tern?

    • @FullychargedUK
      @FullychargedUK  Před rokem +1

      A great question, Peter and thanks for reaching out. The Multitinker can be stored on its tail like the Tern, but similar to having the Clubhouse+ with the childseat expansion bar, when installing the safety bar kit you cannot store it vertically. Hope that helps!

    Tern's battery concept seems better

    • @FullychargedUK
      @FullychargedUK  Před rokem +4

      Hi r4z0r1, thanks for reaching out. It's an interesting point you raise. There are a couple of things we think is useful for our audience to know here. As Ben and Felix mention in the video, having an enclosed 625Wh battery means that the step-through is lower than alternatives, making it easier to get on and off the bike.The PowerTube battery is enclosed into the downtube, and as a consequence is much less prone to being stolen if left on its own. Yet arguably the best feature of them all is that the Multitinker, unlike some of its competitors, comes with the Bosh Smart System. For even better protection against theft, the Bosch eBike Alarm, an update to the Smart System, serves as a mechanical lock for even more security and peace of mind. Once the eBike Flow app is installed, your smartphone serves as a digital key. When you turn off your eBike, the alarm automatically activates and sounds with the slightest movement. In addition, the eBike Flow app notifies you if your eBike has moved, and you can track its location via the Flow App. Pretty cool right! In addition to this, the assistance levels can be changed via The eBike Flow App, allowing for greater range from the battery. Having said all of the above, the two PowerPack holders from the Tern GSD is a brilliant feature, and we have countless families that purchase from us and come back and get an additional PowerPack for those long rides out! Apologies for the essay, but good to give a rounded response to the comment. Hope you are well!

    What !!! £8,000 and no indicators. You can buy two electric mopeds for a similar price. Take the 2-2 family and No effort.

    • @FullychargedUK
      @FullychargedUK  Před rokem +7

      Hi Oddball, prices for the Multitinker start at £5379. You don't need indicators on a bicycle, and these are stable enough that taking your hand off to signal isn't a problem.
      You could get 2 mopeds, but then you have to register them, service them, MOT them, insure them, have a licence, you can't go everywhere bicycles can, and the configurations for children are far superior on a specially designed cargo bike such as the Multitinker, than that of a moped. Also, bicycles are fun and good for your health!
