Automated Shade Part 1

  • In this video I will be starting to come up with the initial design of my automated roller shade. This will be the first part. I will be assembling the main drive and testing a 28BYJ-48 stepper motor to see if it is worthy to move the shade.

    Do you really get that much warping with PETG? Do you have a heated bed? I may have had one print in 3 full rolls of a couple of different PETG materials and never had a warp (between 55-70c). ABS is the toughest to print, but a cardboard box over the printer will do.

      Yes PETG can warp corners off the bed if it is printed in colder temps. I am using a Prusa MK3. My basement can get really cold during the winter months.

    You do this but you won't fix the wall , what is up with that.? What happened to the guy who was fixing car audio? You watch movies with your cat? You should patent that idea Next project get that wall fixed !
