- Aaron Blaise gives us a tour of his super efficient art studio. This small room is where he does his giant charcoal animal portraits, youtube livestreams, and makes his animation courses. This was a great time! Thanks so much for visiting. Let's do it again soon :)
Put yah cart away!!
Can't wait to meet you at Lightbox Expo. Yr the best.
Aaron you are great artist. I only wish I could discipline myself to be as efficient and skilled as you are.
The Art of Aaron Blaise You’re one of the nicest human beings out there. Authentic and immensely generous. Kudos to you.
I love your work and now studio :D
When both said "Lion around" it shows that both are Dads saying Dad jokes.
What a great quote about his grandkids : “They’re still at the age where they love to draw, either kids grow out of it, or they don’t like we”
15:27 When he said “that was just a crappy drawing” and tossed aside carelessly, what appeared to me to be a masterpiece. 😭
"That was just a crappy drawing" (tosses masterpiece to the side)
HAHAHA I literally laughed out so loud!!! What an observation lol
Yes, the camera was surprised too hahhahaha was looking at the picture for a while after hearing that.
Yeah Even Compared To His Own Stuff Its Not Like The Worst Its Realy Good.

One thing ive noticed about animators, is that their lines are so confident.
I think it's because they don't think of them as lines, but as movements
That's cuz they learned gesture and got good at it.
More than anything else, confident straight lines come from deliberately trained muscle memory - e.g. an exercise you can do is draw two points, “ghost” the line a few times before you mark the paper, then connect them in one purposeful stroke. I would recommend reading Scott Robertson’s How to Draw or if you don’t want to shell out the money, check out Moderndayjames and his perspective basics vids. Good luck!
@@willheydecker6179 can I use a PDF? Because there are official sites for digital books
@@neguinlk yeah 100%. A digital copy of How to Draw is perfectly viable
Two legends speaking art

My inspiration!!! he is the reason I began animation and I learn from his videos a lot!!!!
you didn't even watch the video !
@@Golliver- dude read his comment again and then think about your answer
@@YUI.03 um dude , I know its not related to the specific content of the video in specific , but its just weird to me that he shows such great adoration to the video in the comments before watching it
@@Golliver- how do you knew that he didn't even watched the video?
@@Golliver- I was just confused why you attacked him for a comment that was so general that it wasn't necessary for him to watch the video
The history in that tiny room is just mindblowing! wow. Loved this tour a lot. Best wishes to both of you guys.
I love everything about his studio
This was great. Thanks Proko and Aaron Blaise for the visit and tour. When he said "I've got piles more... we'd be here for hours", I thought bring it on. I could have sat and listened for several more hours. So inspiring to see his drawing and collection.
All the artists are uniquely different and lovable... Thanks for these videos Proko
I've heard Aaron's story on the Bancroft Brothers Animation Podcast and he truly seems like one of the nicest guys in the biz. Always happy to see more of him.
You are among my Mount Rushmore of the greatest artists of all time Mr. Blaise. Keep bringing beauty into the world.
Thank you mr Proko and Aaron Blaise for sharing this! This is legendary and very inspiring! Keep on inspiring and keep sharing. Love both of your artworks. Absolutely inspiring!
I absolutely love Aaron’s watercolors! Watercolor is my medium of choice (gouache is my second) his work is quite inspirational. Thanks for posting!
Thanks Proko for doing this interview and the studio tour. I love Aaron Blaise. I am taking his character design course right now, it's amazing. I painted window splashes/ storefront signs for the past 42 years. My splashes have a heavy character design influence so I am always trying to improve my skills in that arena. Although I recently retired from commercial work I still teach on youtube and do a weekly video on how to paint characters for window paintings. I really enjoy it and I have about 1000 videos on the subject on my channel. I am turning 64 soon but feel like I am just really getting into drawing! ha! I can never learn enough. I have watched dozens of your videos as well, so informative and entertaining.
I always watching aaron blaise. Thanks proko you introduced him to me.
I'd love other artists studio tours with you guys! that'd be so sick!
Cesar Santos, Jeremy Mann etc~

amazing 😍😍😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻thank you so much to you both!!☺️❤️❤️
I hope no one would ever grow out of such wonderful talent. I hate that some people when they " grow up " don't continue it on. It's such a tragedy! Don't let it happen to you and always encourage people to stay with and continue on with the Arts!
God I love youtube. Where else would we get to hear a legend talk for 30 minutes +

“That was a crappy drawing-“ after pulling out a beautiful portrait of a cougar that most artists will never match in craftsmanship in their lifetime.
Typical artist
It's all relative and typical for artists at any skill level.
That's BEAUTIFUL. Wow, you're SO talented. Such magnificent talent...love it! Those big Kats are my favorite, and wow, you do such inspirational work...makes we want to start drawing hahahaa. (I have a lot of sewing projects right now)

This was amazing! :O
settin up a biiig tent because those watercolor paintings are so rad
Really enjoy the visit to Aaron Blaise's studio. I wanted him to explain his drawing board; was that a light box or did that round thing turn? I worked for Walt Disney World in Florida from Construction to opening. I was in the purchasing department, buying everything from construction materials to art supplies, etc, etc. etc.
Sally Browning Pearson his drawing board is a light box and the black round plate holds the paper in place, it is used in traditional paper animation hope this helps!😁
I saw that guy! He is really awesome and fun! =D
I wish I had this much beautiful art just lyin' around. "JUST LION AROUND!!"
This was so cool! :)
This seems like a very intresting man, I like it! Also Brother bear is one of my favoritedisney movies, no joke.
Proko your the best bro! 😂 oh that rhymes😂 i support u bigtime!$
Very cool video...I love Aaron's work and have purchased several of his online tutorials. Just one question: how does he keep charcoal dust from getting all over everything in his studio? In every video, his studio always looks so clean (if cluttered). And assuming charcoal dust does get everywhere, what does he clean with? I have a lot of white surfaces in my studio and it's hard to get off of them.
My two favourite people, who just happen to be my two favourite you tube art tutors
I love the animation drawings the most! 23:17
Favorite part? Aaron, of course :) Great chat, very nice and inspiring to see. Thanks!
