lol, just remembered that I worked at a Korean restaurant during college in the States and it was in a tourist area that catered to mostly Japanese customers.
The owner did a lot of "shady" stuff and it was way overpriced. The quality of the food was good, but the portions were pretty small vs the price. And, the kicker. No free banchan.
Korean people would get a bit annoyed (was 90%+ Japanese customers).

💜💜💜😅 I like a little fat with my meat to give it that extra flavor and texture. But that’s just ridiculous. 🥴 Not only are the restaurants wrong for serving that to customers. But the suppliers are doubly wrong for selling it in the first place. 😑💜💜💜💜

Samgyeopsal is very important for Koreans. And the 60th birthday, Hwangap, is incredibly important. So a bad experience for Hwangap is tragic.
Tourism seems to ruin everything too. Its like globalization ruins food, culture, tradition, language, dress, social cohesion, etc.

lol, Korea's GDP at one point was 51% exports. They ain't nothing without globalization. It still represents nearly 40% of GDP.
All that soft stuff matters little if people are poor as dirt.

Not all restaurants so this. I was just in Jeju Island 2 weeks ago and went to a restaurant on Black Pork Street in Jeju City, our samgyeopsal didn't look anything like this

Speak up when the food comes out and demand better satisfaction. What kind of idiots just sit there and eat low quality pork and then complain about it online afterward.

I live on Jeju. There are a lot of great places to get excellent food. I've never experienced this. Prices have gone up a lot though! Isn't that true for most popular areas though? I assure you there are good places to go for awesome food... wait .. it's already crazy busy here. We don't need more tourists clogging the roads and driving like idiots so yeah the food is bad, island bad, all bad, stay way.

I feel for you. I will go for seafood dishes instead when , as a respectful tourist I have the privilege of visiting your paradise island.

Thats because those are probably not real meat but combined meat similar to what you will find in China. I wonder if the meat is even from Korea

that is almost pure fat content....not edible or digestible and certainly NOT healthy by any means...they should be ashamed of attempting to serve that....the same would apply as to serving that to someone as a guest in your home...if you would not do that at home, do not do it at your business...have some pride...do not ruin your business' reputation like that - it's incredible and not in a good way....so sad that these patrons had to be faced with this and then still expected to pay...i think i would have just excused myself and walked out....inexcusable...

WTF are you spewing about people being cheap?! Are you blind? The pork is almost ALL fat. They’re blatantly ripping people off but think no one will notice. You would pay good money for this and just shut up and eat pure pig fat (disgusting) because “reputation if pork”?! Wut? Thank the universe I decided to go vegan. Best decision I’ve ever made.
