A great tribute. Mortenson is from an era of ESPN that I truly miss…that many of us miss.
Mort was one of the voices of football I grew up with. Him, John Clayton, John Saunders, when it came to football news and coverage beyond the play by play guys they were who I grew up with. And now they're all gone 😞💔

Him, John Clayton, Stuart Scott, Boomer and all those sportscenter anchors in the mid 2000's were my childhood. During the summer sportscenter was on all the time all morning. Too many legends are gone.
It hurts thinking about it man time is cruel used to wake up as a kid throwing on espn seeing all these legends now there dying and really old now 🥺

When Adam first came over to ESPN and was paired with Chris I thought Chris was going to be phased out that that's just the way the business worked.
I'm glad I was wrong because Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter are still two things that are right with ESPN.

Oof, this one hits different. Mort always had that smile that would welcome you in and make you listen in to what he had to say. No surprise to hear all the kind words from everyone (Schefty nicely done) after his passing.
If you read this please search for the Bill Tobin/Mel Kiper showdown of the 1994 draft. There is a brief clip of Mort giggling at Kiper right before they are to throw to him and Bill Tobin. That genuine reaction always makes me laugh. Thanks Mort, God bless, and rest in peace.

Losing Barry Melrose and his appearances to Parkinson's and now Mortensen passing away. The figures of my teenage and early 20s in sports reporting are leaving and it's sad.

Well Done indeed!! Mort had a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. That was what his faith was about! This is what Jesus said about Himself in John 11:26 "everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
When Mort passed from this realm to the next, H=he saw the love of his soul for the first time! He would never want to come back. This make sports so trivial. We will miss you Mort but because of what Jesus did for all of us who know you personally, we will see you again very soon!
