To play GS, you run around the stage throwing out your openers. If one connects, you get a dodge read and follow up with an unjumpable string.
_• Reads -_
_Note: The reads for the Slight and Dlight openers are exactly the same. The reads for the Nlight opener is similar to some extent but it's a bit more complex due to cooldown._
Slight/Dlight -
- All Central and All In Dodges (Up, Neutral, Down, In, Up-In, Down-In): ChD - Rev. Nlight
- All Away Dodges (Away, Up-Away, Down-Away): ChD - Nlight
Nlight -
- Central, Non-Up Dodges and In, Non-Up Dodges (Neutral, Down, In, Down-In): ChD - Rev. Slight
- Away, Non-Up Dodges (Away, Down-Away): ChD - Slight
- All Up Dodges (Up, Up-In, Up- Away): Jump Nair _(You have to steer it.)_
_Additional Tip: You can Use Nsig as a substitution for Nlight. This is especially useful if you hit an Nlight opener. With this, the Nlight Opener Dodge Reads are exactly the same as the Slight/Dlight ones, just with the Nlight substituted with Nsig._

If anyone is really struggling with reversing the N-Lights, I found that it is basically impossible if you don't press aim up. Basically the input is: Slight->Dash/ChaseDodge->(press the opposite direction movement key and aim up at the same time) and do Nlight->Whatever you want.
Or you could nlight cancel chase dodge, turn into whatever (for ppl with seperate aim up bind)

People have stuck in their heads to dodge sideways when i play gs, so i literally just keep looping them

@@blackmanta2527 mainly towards the center of the stage, the rarely dodge upwards, rarely mixup with jumps, or use diagonal dodges.
@シオン-shion it depends, i dont like playing solo ranked, i prefer 2v2. so when i'm alone i play some experimental, but 80% quit after 1 stock and the other 20% get looped.
I legit think we need 2 player training room, and non-ranked matches without gadgets, for the more serious players.

( sDL, bNL, sSL, sNL, bDL, fNL)
s= starter
b= bridge
f= finisher

Bridge is the second move after your starter.. But u can't bridge the same starter.. Meaning :
If u hit NL twice.. U will get starter NL and finisher NL
Same for SL and DL
But.. If u hit a different move.. Then u will get a starter bridge and a finisher
Try this.. NL DL NL
It's the fastest three piece in GS

I'm learning yet failing because I can't input correctly and just fails the entire thing. But pulling one of these off is pretty satisfying for me.
Dodge read
Silver-low gold = dodge sideways, if close to edge 90% of the time they dodge in, and always rush for weapon spawn.
High gold-plat = dodge up and know that sidelight is jumpable, if close to edge still dodge up so don't dash back unless you're know what you are doing, passively wait, and good at unarmed.
It's just my experience playing greatsword to plat in sea server with Jaeyun, and keep in mind that my words are not 100% true for you

Slight - dlight - slight is sometimes true depending on how you hit it😀👍
this is actually not the case, it doesn’t have a dodge window but it’s still escapable if you dodge outwards because of the 1f movement on dodge

slight>Nlight>ChD>Nlight>Dlight>Nlight is unjumpable, only b/c bridge nlights (yes there are multiple nlight bridges) are different for nlight oppener
If you are out of stage you can do a gc attack
But it might be scapable

I just came back to brawlhalla after 2 years. Can you guys explain to me how to cancel anitamtion/dodge after greatsword attack because I am unable to combo this weapon for some unknown reason.

i play mako and jaehyung has way more dexterity so greatsword true combos arent them for mako and the side sigs for mako are just engrained into me and jaehyungs just feel wierd now

is this possible with controller? because dash and dodge are the same and it’s very hard to not chase dodge upwards when going slight to dash nlight

Idk if it’s just me but when I chase dodge to cover up dodge I think I’m doing it too slow but when I do nlight they just go through it
have the same problem, cant get the s-light to work
I can't get it to cover left dodge, it looks like my chase dodge is just too long and my nlight goes far away from the enemy
Now greatsword will be that much more painful to play against in plat
I agree greatsword is way too good but i really think people are over reacting. There are tons of ways around it if u just understand that you dont HAVE to dodge, but thats my oppinion :) love ur vids

I don’t wanna use this but in ranked it seems like the only choice so I’ll end up playing someone with the cooler skins on greatsword.

Have I always been right to say to not dodge out during the starter since like the first week greatsword was out? Though I personally like Dair nlight slight because it is extremely hard to get out of since you need to react near perfectly to dodge out of it. The dodge window for it is 1 then a 2 and it kills well compare to some other options. Sandstorm himself went over the first string that you went over not saying that is a bad thing I just wanted to point that out.
Please give more advice on dodging against greatsword.
@@ahmadzubir5811 honestly dodging greatsword is going to be always after the bridge like eggsoup has said. If you are hit by nlight dlight then dodge away from your opponent as you won't get hit by the second nlight by doing that. however they can mixup nlight dlight with slight which hits dodge down and maybe dodging down and away I would have to test. Dair is one of the better moves for greatsword to hit so watch out for that as well.
Here’s how you nerf great sword.... Nlight covers up dodge not down... Down covers down and spot... and side covers spot down or left/right. I feel this would make great sword less broken since Nlight is ESPECIALLY so strong and covers so many dodges... I know it’s a string heavy weapon but one move that goes in one direction shouldn’t cover dodges that go in others... please share your opinions and tell me my flaws(Cause I knoe I’m bad at explaining)
