To further Alpharads point, there was a point where his content changed and I changed so I stopped watching for a while and that’s ok. But I’ve changed again and started watching again. I realized that Alpharad is the absolute best and that there is no other alternative and that I just hadn’t joined the cult that is Alpharad yet.😀

When ultimate came out, I subscribed to many channels that we’re playing it. Alpharad is the only one I’ve stayed subscribed to and watch often. I’m so excited to continue to watch as the content moves on to different things. Passion is a beautiful thing, and it’s very visible that Jacob and everyone he plays with is very passionate about their work.

I don't want this to sound parasocial, but your videos were and are so fucking important to me. The last half was some good shit. I'm glad you're in a better place and feel like you can make content you want to, and not be stuck as a caricature of yourself for the rest of your life. I can 100% understand content creators not wanting to be on socials, the amount of inane comments and kids trying to be funny by posting memes and jokes that are entirely irrelevant to the post is way too high, the only way I could survive that is by turning off notifications entirely.

Half of his moves have super armour. The other half has invincibility. He has 4 kill throws and one combo throw. He has super armour on his idle stance. He has a random reflector. He is a fighting game character, and he can fly. He has rage++. He has super moves. His taunt damages and is the strongest in the game. Seems like a DLC character.

Spammable projectile, punishes that come out fast enough to actually answer a whiffed F-smash, an F-smash that can just muscle through Lucina's anyways, a command grab that can be used in midair are all some pretty spicy reverse unos. Maybe at high levels it's a Lucina advantage, but casual/elite smash level, this don't look too good. Lucina losing Fsmash spam trades, and not punishing people who chase into the air is a bad place for her to be. Plus, the guy basically has swords for legs.
I still hold my stance on him losing bad to lucina, but seeing his damage output now, yeah this is fucked up. Sakurais’ goons are too casual to realize how messed up he could become

Listening to Alpharad talk about his life and how people think that he's gotten different over the years is sending me into an existential crisis. Will all the things that I'm passionate about now suddenly make me cringe 4 years from now? (I'm 21 right now)
Nah, just some of them, but you’ll get new things to enjoy; and cringing at your childhood is common, but it also comes with love, so you might not watch as much media as you used to or be as into a subject as you used to; but you’ll always have those and you can go back anytime you want if you want to relearn. You’ll evolve and hopefully become better, and with that you can do what you please, and learn what you want to; and anything that you don’t, you’ll hopefully have fond memories of... ;p
I would say don’t worry about it. Live in the moment and prepare for the future. Interests change over time but I just look back and am glad that I at least enjoyed myself.

I think the modern internet can get really tiring when nothing feels like it's genuine. Everyone's worried about how they'll be perceived by others, and people tend to make things based on what they think other people want. Among all that, Alpha's recent content has been refreshingly genuine to me. I think if you're doing what you enjoy, people will notice, and it really is appreciated.
I’ve been watching Alpharad content ever since “How to play 101” back in smash 4 and honestly watching your content grow and improve over the years has genuinely been an enjoyable experience. The notation for the while standing move after crouch would be “ws a” ws = while standing. Also infinite azure’s song is moonsiders 1st and is in the list.
@@GBDupree yes but no, i know smash is mor simple, but in tekken crouching and letting crouch go is not the only way to go into ws animation, also 25a would be more like pressing crouch then neutral and then attack, but in wsa you do the attack while standing and not after it. Its also important to note that tekken doesnt use numpad notation but instead just a simple directional notation like df1 meaning down foward and 1 attack button (left arm). So if we use numpad notation it would be confusing something like 251 or 252.

I honestly enjoyed the second half of the video a ton. It helps me reflect as well that I fell in love with a franchise at a much younger age, have been able to see it grow, figure out myself (alongside my taste of games and entertainment) along the way and enjoy the solid pov of any CZcamsr that has also discovered how much they had grown over time. I have been here before this channel existed. I subbed to Alpharad just before Alpharad Plus (Deluxe) was created. I have seen both channels grow and change. As long as you like to create what you create you will have a fan base. I loved seeing you grow and no matter what you do I will always watch your content. Love your stuff man.
Honestly for what it's worth, which probably not a lot, my favorite part about the Alpharad channel was witnessing Jacob's growth as a content creator and a person through the little glimpses we saw of him in his Videos, so keep changing and progressing Jacob! I loved the rant after the main video btw. And i just wanted to say that ive watched alpharad for a few years now, and i can absolutely tell that things have changed, but like as my sense of humor changed, and my personality has shifted and shaped more, its nice to come back to someone you remembered as one way, and be able to tell that they're also a different person with an updated sense of humor, in a way that time hasnt only passed for you, and you arent leaving old things behind, they're aging with you. Idk it's sort of a nice feeling to know you arent passing through each new stage of life alone
51:01 Honestly, I've gotten off of social media entirely by this point and have been for roughly a year and a half. It's really good for my mental health not being in that space at all, not having to engage. I would really recommend it for anyone, especially if even seeing it is stressful or otherwise a drain. There's no need to subject yourself to anything that doesn't better you as a person or a creator, and that goes for everyone.
I think the concept of social media was a good one, but it really has decreased into something that can be very unhealthy if you're there for too long. I have the odd conversation with someone, or make a message here and there if I think I could help anyone in some way, but other than that I'm also not very active.

The conversation near the end made me think about some stuff. As someone who just recently rewatched most of this channel, I like the journey of Alpharad. You’ve honestly been a big constant for me for a while and I’ve been here since around the beginning of deluxe when it was plus and towards the beginning of your main channel’s initial or secondary growth. It is really weird to think about how I’ve relied on your videos to make me feel better and odd to think of you as anything besides another human just living their life as best they can. Sometimes you just gotta accept things are out of your control and change is just a thing that occurs and there’s no use in worrying. The last half was some good shit. I'm glad you're in a better place and feel like you can make content you want to, and not be stuck as a caricature of yourself for the rest of your life. I can 100% understand content creators not wanting to be on socials, the amount of inane comments and kids trying to be funny by posting memes and jokes that are entirely irrelevant to the post is way too high, the only way I could survive that is by turning off notifications entirely.

Something about the real talk at the end and alpha's voice being dead from expanding his brand into new waters really struck a coord with me. Its wild that I started watching this channel for smash clips while I was in a depressive binge and how I feel like I've grown a little with him.

Half of his moves have super armour. The other half has invincibility. He has 4 kill throws and one combo throw. He has super armour on his idle stance. He has a random reflector. He is a fighting game character, and he can fly. He has rage++. He has super moves. His taunt damages and is the strongest in the game.
Seems like a DLC character.

Spammable projectile, punishes that come out fast enough to actually answer a whiffed F-smash, an F-smash that can just muscle through Lucina's anyways, a command grab that can be used in midair are all some pretty spicy reverse unos.
Maybe at high levels it's a Lucina advantage, but casual/elite smash level, this don't look too good. Lucina losing Fsmash spam trades, and not punishing people who chase into the air is a bad place for her to be.
Plus, the guy basically has swords for legs.
I still hold my stance on him losing bad to lucina, but seeing his damage output now, yeah this is fucked up. Sakurais’ goons are too casual to realize how messed up he could become

Listening to Alpharad talk about his life and how people think that he's gotten different over the years is sending me into an existential crisis. Will all the things that I'm passionate about now suddenly make me cringe 4 years from now? (I'm 21 right now)

Nah, just some of them, but you’ll get new things to enjoy; and cringing at your childhood is common, but it also comes with love, so you might not watch as much media as you used to or be as into a subject as you used to; but you’ll always have those and you can go back anytime you want if you want to relearn.
You’ll evolve and hopefully become better, and with that you can do what you please, and learn what you want to; and anything that you don’t, you’ll hopefully have fond memories of... ;p

I would say don’t worry about it. Live in the moment and prepare for the future. Interests change over time but I just look back and am glad that I at least enjoyed myself.

I think the modern internet can get really tiring when nothing feels like it's genuine. Everyone's worried about how they'll be perceived by others, and people tend to make things based on what they think other people want. Among all that, Alpha's recent content has been refreshingly genuine to me. I think if you're doing what you enjoy, people will notice, and it really is appreciated.

The notation for the while standing move after crouch would be “ws a” ws = while standing.

why not just 25A? 2 for crouch, 5 for neutral/standup, then A. Doesn't that convey the input clearly?
@@GBDupree yes but no, i know smash is mor simple, but in tekken crouching and letting crouch go is not the only way to go into ws animation, also 25a would be more like pressing crouch then neutral and then attack, but in wsa you do the attack while standing and not after it.
Its also important to note that tekken doesnt use numpad notation but instead just a simple directional notation like df1 meaning down foward and 1 attack button (left arm). So if we use numpad notation it would be confusing something like 251 or 252.

I finished college, quit three jobs, moved three times and changed my gender between Ultimate releasing and Kazuya coming out, and I'm currently trying to figure out how to finally be an adult without giving up my own identity. I honestly enjoyed the second half of the video a ton. It helps me reflect as well that I fell in love with a franchise at a much younger age, have been able to see it grow, figure out myself (alongside my taste of games and entertainment) along the way and enjoy the solid pov of any CZcamsr that has also discovered how much they had grown over time. Love ya Jacob, really happy to see how much you have changed for the better in everyone's eyes hopefully :)
I have been here before this channel existed. I subbed to Alpharad just before Alpharad Plus (Deluxe) was created. I have seen both channels grow and change. As long as you like to create what you create you will have a fan base. I loved seeing you grow and no matter what you do I will always watch your content. Love your stuff man.

Honestly for what it's worth, which probably not a lot, my favorite part about the Alpharad channel was witnessing Jacob's growth as a content creator and a person through the little glimpses we saw of him in his Videos, so keep changing and progressing Jacob! It's already been an amazing journey and I can't wait to see what's in store for you!
I loved the rant after the main video btw. And i just wanted to say that ive watched alpharad for a few years now, and i can absolutely tell that things have changed, but like as my sense of humor changed, and my personality has shifted and shaped more, its nice to come back to someone you remembered as one way, and be able to tell that they're also a different person with an updated sense of humor, in a way that time hasnt only passed for you, and you arent leaving old things behind, they're aging with you. Idk it's sort of a nice feeling to know you arent passing through each new stage of life alone
51:01 Honestly, I've gotten off of social media entirely by this point and have been for roughly a year and a half. It's really good for my mental health not being in that space at all, not having to engage. I would really recommend it for anyone, especially if even seeing it is stressful or otherwise a drain. There's no need to subject yourself to anything that doesn't better you as a person or a creator, and that goes for everyone.
I think the concept of social media was a good one, but it really has decreased into something that can be very unhealthy if you're there for too long. I have the odd conversation with someone, or make a message here and there if I think I could help anyone in some way, but other than that I'm also not very active.

Your passion and desire to stay true to yourself continue to inspire me and many others. I've never felt so lucky to find a content creator such as yourself, and I'm thankful for it. I'm thankful to you for doing what you love, thankful for holding true to yourself, and thankful for everything you do. Your passion for what you do is obvious in all of your work, and without any understatement, it's changed my life. You've inspired me to try and be myself, and to seek out what that means. Honestly, the Alpharad I fell in love with wasn't funny-haha forward aerial Alpharad. Don't get me wrong, the humor is probably the reason I keep coming back to the channel. But what got me to subscribe was actually the rawness of story-for-glory, of episodes like these, just listening to an HONEST CZcamsr. I know you regret sharing so much about yourself back then, and I am definitely not your friend, but I just want to say that that genuineness is what I think your channel is truly about. The conversation near the end made me think about some stuff. As someone who just recently rewatched most of this channel, I like the journey of Alpharad. I remember what I found funny in some 2016 videos and such and I enjoy watching all the videos and feeling my humor having changed since then. It's crazy to think about that change for me.
Watching the ride that is Alpharad content has been inspiring to see and honestly it's always a fun time watching whatever content is made because their is always so much passion behind it. I can't wait to see what comes next!

You’ve honestly been a big constant for me for a while and I’ve been here since around the beginning of deluxe when it was plus and towards the beginning of your main channel’s initial or secondary growth. It is really weird to think about how I’ve relied on your videos to make me feel better and odd to think of you as anything besides another human just living their life as best they can. Sometimes you just gotta accept things are out of your control and change is just a thing that occurs and there’s no use in worrying. I genuinely appreciate your existence for the comedy and entertainment you’ve brought. 2018 Alpha is a different person who I use to enjoy and used to appeal to a younger version of me, 2020 alpha is someone I actively enjoy now and can learn from still, and whatever happens in the future I can’t wait to see. I’m really interested in where “Alpharad” goes next. My humor was definitely changed by the ironic humor of Jacob and Jo and many others, but now I’ve developed out of that and want to be more genuine. I know there are people (mostly kids but that’s just how it goes) who want you to stay as the “funny Mario meme guy hahahaha” but I’m super excited both for your content and for you as a person to step out of that box.
