Very cleverly crafted song with a fabulous feel good tune. That's why it's still the most favoured song in Eurovision history.
Clever ? Try to come up with a song like that. It's not 'clever'. It's sweet and deep and innocent and blossoming. And some of those chord changes are pure genius.

This was the song for our dance at our wedding in 1979. Still together 40 years later and the song still sounds great. So nice that it was performed at this years Eurovision.
As a Finn, I have to admit this "Hallelujah" was a much better Eurovision song than our "Hardrock hallelujah" in 2006. 🙂

So you don't understand this? It has to do with taking revenge on all the Palestinians in Gaza including the children. And misusing the horrific crime on the 7th October to implement some more horrific crimes on all the Palestinians. That's why they call these war crimes. So if you want to be a friend of Israël, be a friend of all those Israelis who protest daily against the crimes of their own government.
P.S, If you hope to visit Israël one day (!) Why don't you book a camping trip to Gaza without any food or water right now, which is 7 April 2024 and don't be afraid of the big bad wolf! Worse thing that can happen is that you may loose your life due to an unfortunate unintentional accident. That is if you don't starve to death first due to all the great food and medicine supply that is blocked from entering the Gaza strip. But according to mr Netanyahu this happens in war so why oh why do people think Israël is the bad wolf here?

I love this song so much, I first heard this song when I was 14 years old, beautiful song ever.
How fitting that this uplifting classic closed the 1970s decade of Eurovision. Which by any standard produced its finest songs.
From Cliff Richard, Abba, Clodagh Rogers, Brotherhood of Man and the New Seekers, all simple lyrics with a distinct musical backing.
Together with good production values, unlike todays offer that fall very short of this music, and on sets that like a science fiction movie.
I heard them in their first performance in 1979, good song Halleluya.

Just ADORE this. I was 15 in 1979. I remember getting goosebumps when I heard it on the Eurovision Song Contest and wanted to be just like the female singer, so beautiful and talented. Now watching it again I’m drawn to the male singers especially the one with the green eyes, not only are they all fresh and handsome but..what talent!
I would love to know if they made any other records and what they are doing today.

I'd forgotten this song until it was shown on the 2020 eurovision programme, it's a fantastic song, tune and performed perfectly both in Yiddish (I assume) and English
