Thanks! We will be sure to make more videos with no nonsense recipes! Hope it turned out delicious!
Totally agree
SAMMMEEEEEEEEE
I kinda don’t mind the history of where my ancestors recipes came from. Also give me a bit more passion for what I cook.
Exactly!!!!!
Years ago I made a pork roast exactly the same way on a hunting trip....even looks like the same crockpot. So easy and stupid good!
When we got back to the cabin at the end of the day, the guys were pretty impressed and I convinced them that the recipe was complicated.
It's still a secret after all these years!
That's Awesome! Take it to the grave 🤣
Simple and straight to the point video. I love crockpots and have 3 of them. Well done!
Yes...I would like to see more crockpot recipes. Inflation is hitting us hard, and we must cook more in the crock. 🎉 New Sub!
No kidding! More crock pot recipes soon!
Went to buy pot roast and was way too expensive for a small pound. Found the pork roast which was twice as big and about $4.00 cheaper.
@@garcia207 pork and chicken are the best way to go $ wise for sure
Grocery stores need to stop gouging. I am making this roast today.

I also love that you went right to the recipe and kept it so simple, easy and doable!!! I am putting this in the crockpot as I make this for dinner tonight!!! Thank you so much!!!! I hope to see more of your recipes. Thank you 🙏 ☺️ 👍 💃🏼

YES! Love crock pot ideas
I love how you keep it simple. bon Appétit
You sir are a complete genius!! I usually put the broth in with it and all the Veggies, this time I just seasoned it put it in the crock pot and let it reset for an hour, I did not sear it, I added about 15 Pepperchini peppers and one Pablano pepper and my special Red neck deluxe Allspice BBQ seasoning.. put it in the crock pot around 10:30 pm for 8 hours on low.. Holy shit.. this is Ridiculous!! and sooo perfect!
Now that sounds good! I will have to try adding some peppernchinis! I like to add some jalapenos and onions normally, but I wanted to show how easy it is 😎
@@bakesfoods I know this is an old comment but I just came across your vid. So for this, you don't add any water? Just let the fat melt and let that cook with the meat?
@@lilox3690 no water necessary for a Boston butt roast 👍
What temp on the crackpot ?
I made this once for dinner a couple of months ago and not only was it easy but it was just as delicious as it looks 😋 I'm making it again for dinner tonight ❤
That's awesome! Enjoy 🤤
Looks delicious!!! I make mine with Lawry’s Garlic salt with parsley and lots of black pepper…. I make Bbq Pulled Pork sandwiches with a Jalapeño Coleslaw or I make Pork Soft Tacos with my roasted salsa, shredded cabbage, onions, cilantro and a squeeze of lime.
Ive been doing this a lot in some potlucks. Everyone loves it
I tried and I couldn't believe how well it turned out.. ty ty

Thank ❤you for sharing
Thank you for the support! 😊
Did your recipe this weekend for company. It was a Knockout for sure !! I added one little bottle (10oz.) of apple juice. Will use this recipe again.. PS..this roast needed no BBQ sauce when you put it on your plate . perfect taste.. Thank you for sharing this recipe
Apple juice is a great idea for a little sweetness! Thanks for watching!
Great channel 👍 going to do one in the morning 👍 thank you for the info 😊
Thank you!
i really enjoyed this video...... it was informative and straight to the point. I have a 5lb pork butt that has been marinating in dry rub seasoning for a couple days in the the fridge and I've been trying to decide on how to cook (either in the oven and then slicing or else my crock pot and pulling as well as temp if I decide on the oven). I've cooked boston butts both ways but this time I'm trying with a new seasoning.
I'm thinking now I'm gonna go with the crock pot. THANKS FOR THE GREAT SIMPLE VIDEO.
Thank you! You can't go wrong either way with a Boston butt! I hope your new seasoning is delicious!
Wow, amazing. I have a 7lb one thawing in the refrigerator and in the crock pot it goes in the morning! Thank you.
Awesome, Hope it turns out great!

Yummmm. I love my crock pot, dinner is never a problem.
I am cooking your recipe at this moment lol well the crock pot is cooking . Thank you for the recipe. Oh I love hot so I did add 2 Serano 🌶.
Just found your channel. Yum! I want more crock pot recipes and ** that Brussels sprout recipe. Thanks!
Many more videos to come! And yes the brussel sprouts are on the way!! Thanks for watching!
Thank you. I am scheduled for shoulder replacement surgery. I've been looking for easy way to cook my meals in crock pot, using the liner will make cleaning easier for me. Carol
We hope your surgery goes well! Liners are great for making cleaning a cinch, but make sure to buy decent liners that aren't full of BPA's and chemicals that will get into your food.
Just saw your post. How is your recovery?
I usually use packets of dry Italian dressing mix and dry ranch dip mix but I’m out of both so your video fit right in with what is in my pantry .. looking forward to trying it this evening when it’s done …
Let us know how it turns out!
Do you add any liquid in crockpot to cook
@@kennethsma4161 Not for a fatty roast like this. The fat will render and provide plenty of moisture.
Thank you 🙏🏾 I needed that👌🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
That looks good
Is this Carl from Walking Dead? lol Kidding. Good video. I do so much cooking with the grill and instapot, I had to refresh myself on crockpot cooking. Doing a pork roast today for pulled pork sammiches. Good job, sir.
Looks good!! Ty!!
Looked good
Great video right to the pointn
Yes more recipes with the crockpot.
Thank you, Baked Foods. This is exactly the simple recipe that I was looking for. I might try it with my pork loin since they were out of the butt roast.
Pork loin will not turn out as tender. I think the best way to cook those either to roast in the oven or grill. And they are wonderful wrapped in bacon! Check out our bacon wrapped tenderloin video here czcams.com/video/5l8W0hgWAxk/video.html
Thanks for watching!
@@bakesfoods I can't use my oven until I get an electrician. Would it help to keep the pork loin tender in some broth while it cooks in the crockpot?
@@MsOliveLeaf Yes, you should add a little broth to a lean cut like that. I suggest to use a thermometer and pull it out at 145 degrees fahrenheit.
@@bakesfoods OK....that helps a lot. Thank you! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
@@MsOliveLeaf You as well!!
Turnip is actually a great & tasty vegetable that's easy to make & nutritious too. .I've noticed fewer & fewer stores/farmers markets carry as often as other veggies. I'm adding it to my garden in the spring. ..started last spring with tomatoes, green onions & 🍓 too!
I always cook my pork in the crockpot with Lawry's seasoning salt! 🥰
I like more east crock pot recipes. Thanks.
Thanks for this video.
LOVE THIS VID BAKES FOOD! I USUALLY TAKE A BOSTON BUTT AND COVER WITH MUSTARD AND BAKE IN OVEN, BUT, I'M GOING TO TRY THIS ONE! THANKS!
Thanks! That's also a good way to do it!
How was it? I’m cooking it right now.
@@lauracoley108 IT'S REALLY DELICIOUS TOO, I THINK I PREFER THE MUSTARD/BAKE MORE...MAYBE BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS HAD IT THAT WAY...I LIKE A CRUST ON IT TOO THAT THE CROCK POT DOESN'T GIVE...BUT, THIS METHOD IS GREAT FOR SANDWICHES!
You're so incredibly please with yourself 😂 I love it. Cheers
Love Boston butt. So versatile
AMEN!
Ours just says pork butt roast on the package. Nothing about Boston.
Those Brussel sprouts look good too
I'm strict carnivore so will only be salting the pork butt I got...no seasonings. Now I just have to decide if I want to use my oven or use my crock pot. If I use my oven, I can make it crispy. Never cooked before so have to figure it out. Thanks for the video.
My favorite part is the elavator music, thanks for the video
😂 thanks for watching!
Add fresh squeezed orange juice. Yum
. Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you Thank you 🙏
Thanks. I was scared until your video. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😋😋
So glad you found it useful! Good luck!
We’ve been using lawreys for many yrs. Like this, or in beans on chicken, whatever. In the past few I’ve also started using Everglades seasoning. It’s also excellent on most anything. I’ll even use it on a turkey or pork sandwich instead of salt and pepper.
We will have to try that seasoning! Where do you find it?
@@bakesfoods it’s everywhere here in Fl. I believe it’s on Amazon now too.
Yes. Everglades seasoning or Tony's.
@@nolawarren3560 Yup Tony’s is great too, there’s an extra spicy we like.
YES please!
Yay! I made this today because I found your video. Made a Boston Butt for the first time in my life. Only difference is I used buttery steakhouse by kinder because that's all I had. Thank you 🎉
My family is gonna get mad I keep sitting here at 12:30am eating at it. 😅
That's Awesome!! How did it turn out?!
@@bakesfoods so jucy and tender! I ate hash sandwhiches for lunch today.
I like the "alright" guy 🤣
We are in a blizzard 🥶 and I had a Boston Butt in my freezer. Yup also have that brand season salt. So here goes. Thanks.
howd it come out?
great job! i thumbed it. i heard port roast is 40min cook time for each pound, so why did you have to do 9 hours? i think you cldv got same results with 4hours and rest time? thanks
Nice to see a man cook!!
👍 thanks again!! :)
Thank you!
You can do whatever you want with a pork butt as long as you shred it up after it's done, put it between two quality pieces of bread, put some hot sauce or hot BBQ sauce on it, throw some creamy/sweet coleslaw on top, then eat it up.
This probably was asked and you probably mentioned but I'm hungover and i do not wanna cook today so your video was perfect. Will be making this for dinner lol. Anywho how long do I cook this for?
I like to cook it on low for at least 8 hours
Thanks 😊
I am so going to try this. I’m going to have mine with some mashed potatoes & a veggie. I will let you know how it goes.
Awesome! It goes very well with mashed potatoes. You can easily make a gravy from the juices by adding a little flour and simmering for a minute. Hope it turns out great! 😎👍
As soon as I saw the Lowry's I knew this was my guy!
My pork shoulders always seem to come out dry in the crock pot and I typically cook for 8 hours and they are usually 3.5 lbs or so. Am I maybe not cooking it long enough? I will try this technique and timing but just wondered what others thought. thanks!
I highly recommend that you use "Boston Butt" Pork Shoulders. Other cuts can be a lot less forgiving.
Thanks for useful recipe.
After cooking, can it be reheated in crockpot and eaten as required over a few days.?
Could beef be cooked similarly (without water).I live alone so I could not eat it all
in one day.Thanks again.
No problem! I typically will eat this for a few days and make different dishes out of it. I Recommend letting it cool and refrigerate, or putting in a sealed container. I have left it out plenty and just reheated it, but they DO say a slow cooker doesn't warm it up quick enough to effectively kill bacteria. 😅
Great question. You can do the same with certain cuts of beef, like the brisket! Here is a video we did on brisket slow cooker. czcams.com/video/hxBxaOvULhk/video.html
But many cuts of beef will be lean and may require some liquid. Just pay attention to fat content! Thanks for watching!
Thanks guy
No problem 😎👍
A video on the best way to cook cheaper cuts of meat would be cool. Meat prices are high and I'm cheap!
Yeah that's a great idea I definitely agree, although Boston butt pork roasts that size are actually relatively cheap, the one he did shouldn't be more than $7 for the whole roast
@@benfletcher4715 didn't know that! I mainly cook with chicken. Maybe I'll make some 🤔 I'll add it to the next shop!
@@rebekahgibson991 DO ITTTTT
@@benfletcher4715 just did! I'm sure the family will be happy to have some variety for once 🤣🤣
Great job no B S I am thawing out the roast now.
Awesome! Good luck
is a slow cooker the same as a crockpot? just acquired a slow cooker...seems more complex to use, I loved my crock pot.
Crock pot is a brand of slow cooker. I love my old crockpot too. Simple, but works great
Can we talk about those Brussel sprouts?! yum!
This is my most requested recipe. Video coming soon 😎👍
When should u add veggies if you cook with carrots potatoes and onions?
I like a honey mustard glaze and honey butter baby carrots and serve with Jasmine rice so delicious
Great Ideas if you want that sweet and savory combo! 😋
Have you tried to fry it first for a few minutes to brown it then put it on the crockpot with slices potatoes and carrots? ( half cup of water )
I have seared it first before. Potatoes and Carrots are a great addition to the pot. Sweet potato is a very underrated ingredient. I think it goes very well in the place of potatoes or carrots!
Dayum’!
That looks so nice I'd take the meat out the crock pot and put the meat juices in a pan and make gravy with the juices
Yes!!
More More!! :)
Does it matter how much it weighs or is it always 8 hrs. I have a 2 and a half pounder
8 hours is a good rule of thumb. Larger roasts maybe take a while longer, but 2.5lb should be tender after the 8 hour mark. Some crock pots vary in temperature, so you will want to test it for yourself with a fork. Good luck!
is that all oil from the meat its cooking in? or did you add water?
It's all rendered fat and juices from the Roast
Love video did u put any water in your crock pot? Ty
Thanks! No water needed. There is a ton of juice in a Boston butt.
Thank you for getting back with me.
I put a bit of bacon grease....makes it so yummy to me
That would be good!
Do you add any water at all to the Crock-Pot for Boston butt?
Do not add water. If you are using a Boston Butt, there is more than enough juice and fat that will render down and keep it super tender! If you add onions, it will also help to keep it moist.
Did you have some liquid in the pot before adding the pork?
No liquid necessary.
Big question, why is the shoulder roast called the butt? It put me off when I was young, cuz no one explained it to me lol
Can you cook it in broth or stock?
You certainly can. I would recommend not adding too much because the roast will release a lot of juices. If you separate the juice from the meat once it is cooked, you can make an amazing gravy by simmering the juice on the stove top and sprinkling some flour or corn starch.
Do you put water or oil in the crock pot?
You don't need to add any liquid, the fat and juices will render down. You can add liquid if you want to add a flavor, such as broth or gravy. But you will have a lot of liquid in the pot at the end. Experimenting is the best part of cooking 😊👍
Damn I always add water. Thanks 4 tha new edition.
Ok I'll watch a crock pot for 8 hours .it was easy .🙄 Three hours and s long it's tender at this point.great job ,pork roast . I've never used lawreys,I will try it.
3 settings hi? Med? Or low?
Our crockpot has High, Low and Warm. I always slow cook on Low. In your case, it might be good to try medium as low may be your keep warm setting. But, I am not sure. Experiment with it and see what works best for you.
Do you remove the liquid before shredding?
You may want to scoop some of the liquid out as it is pure rendered fat. I like to leave some for the flavor. It also helps to keep it tender and moist.
You wouldn't want to shred it in the crockpot and risk scratching the crock.. then you can ladle out some of the liquid and sprinkle it onto the meat!
@@trudygreer2491 Although you can simply press it with a wooden spoon and it will fall apart 😋
@@bakesfoods True, too! I like to get the meat out of the crock so it stops cooking.. plus, I think it's a little less messy to take the meat out of the fat, than the other way 'round. The fat's nicely contained in one place, and I can deal with it later, while focusing all my attention on the lovely pork prize! ;)
